Highlights: It is expected that Apple will launch a new display and MacBook . The display will compliment the upcoming Mac Pro. There is no information on the launch date of the products. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has detailed some upcoming Apple products. This information comes in a research note from Kuo obtained by MacRumors. If the information is to be believed, then Apple is working on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro and a 6K monitor. Apple left the display game back in 2016. The 2K Apple monitor which launched in 2011 was discontinued in 2016. The new monitor is said to be a 31.6-inch 6K display with a “Mini LED-like backlight design”. Apple already said that it will launch an upgradable Mac Pro in 2019, so it is possible that the monitor will launch to compliment the CPU. The note obtained by Mac Rumours reads, “With regards to the Mac Pro, we are in the process of what we call "completely rethinking the Mac Pro." We’re working on it. We have a team working hard on it right now, and we want to architect it so that we can keep it fresh with regular improvements, and we’re committed to making it our highest-end, high-throughput desktop system, designed for our demanding pro customers. As part of doing a new Mac Pro — it is, by definition, a modular system — we will be doing a pro display as well. Now you won’t see any of those products this year; we’re in the process of that. We think it’s really important to create something great for our pro customers who want a Mac Pro modular system, and that’ll take longer than this year to do.” It says above that we won't see the product this year, but it is possible that Apple may tease the product or reveal it in 2019 with a launch scheduled for the future. As for the MacBook Pro, Apple redesigned the MacBook Pro with the touchbar in 2016 so it unlikely that the design will change. However, a new screen size is possible. Apple discontinued the 17-inch MacBook Pro back in 2012 and it looks like the large screen size may make a comeback with some high end specifications. Apple recently filed for a patent for a glass keyboard and you can read the details of the patent filed here. It is highly unlikely that Apple will launch a laptop with a glass keyboard but considering the flack the new MacBook keyboards have received, it is possible that Apple does something different with its keyboard.
