Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon X70 5G modem and FastConnect 7800 with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 53 at MWC 2022

Qualcomm showed what’s it’s been prepping in its labs for the coming generation of Android flagships. This includes a Snapdragon X70 5G modem and FastConnect 7800 with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. You see these would be the tech that you will come to see in the upcoming handsets, starting with the top-tier ones of course. Well, this may very well be the first time you are coming across a WiFi 7 product because it is as per the company. The company also boasts the ability of FastConnect to deliver CD-quality lossless audio over Bluetooth 5.3.

Snapdragon X70 5G Modem Specs and Features

Qualcomm calls Snapdragon X70 5G the “world’s only comprehensive 5G modem-RF system family capable of supporting every commercial 5G band from 600 MHz to 41 GHz.”

While that’s promising for the 5G buildout, what’s even more inquisitive is its support for a built-in 5G AI processor that should leverage the power of AI to improve “speeds, coverage, latency, mobility, link robustness, and power efficiency”.

Qualcomm details the Snapdragon X70 modem features Gigabit 5G, a standalone mmWave support, 5G Dual-SIM Dual-Active (DSDA), 4x downlink carrier aggregation, and uplink carrier aggregation.

The claimed upload and download speeds are up to 3.5Gbps and up to 10Gbps.

Thanks to a 4nm architecture and something called PowerSave Gen 3, the new modem is said to offer 60% more power efficiency than the precursor.

Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 modem Specs and Features

This works on a 14nm process and will be powering WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. Qualcomm has equipped the modem with High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link technology that “leverages two Wi-Fi radios for four streams of high band connectivity in 5GHz and/ or 6GHz bands”.

Not only that, but FastConnect 7800 also has a four-stream DBS (Dual-Band Simultaneous) that keeps ultra-low latency to 2ms.

When it is connected to a 320MHz channel on a 6GHz spectrum, the peak speeds can go up to 5.8Gbps.

Meanwhile, it allows 2.4GHz for Bluetooth and lower-bandwidth WiFi.

Speaking of Bluetooth, FastConnect drives Bluetooth 5.3 with Dual Bluetooth radios for enhanced connectivity. And interestingly enough, Qualcomm claims FastConnect 7800 can play 16-bit CD lossless quality audio.

There are the usual improvements in terms of coverage (2x), efficiency (up to 50%), and overall connectivity (it can pair in half the time).

Speaking about the new announcements, Qualcomm VP and GM, Mobile Compute and Connectivity, said, “Coupled with up to 50% lower power consumption and Intelligent Dual Bluetooth with advanced Snapdragon Sound capabilities, FastConnect 7800 is simply the best client connectivity offering in the industry”.

Realme launches Buds Air 3 at MWC 2022, announces Realme GT Neo 3 with 150W fast-charging coming soon

Realme’s MWC 2022 announcements included the Realme Buds Air 3, the impending launch of Realme GT Neo 3 with 150W UltraDart charging, and Realme Book Prime. The new earbuds feature 42 dB Active Noise Cancelation (ANC), 10mm Dynamic Bass Booster that’s backed by Dolby Audio quality, dual device connection support, and up to 30 hours of runtime between charges. The other major product has been the laptop but since it’s already available in the Chinese market as Realme Book Enhanced, we will skim through its specs and features. We shall get into its pricing details as well down below. And also learn a thing or two about the new fast charging tech.

Realme GT Neo 3 with 150W UltraDart fast charging: Details

This 150W ultraDart fast charging tech claims to be able to top up a battery from 0-50% in 5 minutes even though Realme hasn’t revealed the battery size we are talking about here. The rumoured specs of Realme GT Neo 3 are a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz 10Bit OLED screen, 16MP selfie snapper, a 50MP (IMX766, OIS)+8MP+2MP rear camera setup, a Snapdragon 888, and a 4500mAh battery. Now, the rumours also reveal a Dimensity 8100 variant of the phone with a 5000mAh cell. However, we believe the 150W might be supported by the 4500mAh model of GT Neo 3 as just the other day, Oppo (Realme’s sister concern) also unveiled a 150W SuperVOOC with Battery Health Engine that boasts to fill a 4500mAh battery in 15 minutes. So, we came to this deduction.

In the press release, Realme goes on detailing the UltraDart Charging Architecture (UDCA) that is said to support charging between 100 and 200W speeds. The company also underlines the safety measures in place for ensuring the health of the battery and the phone bearing it:

First of all, the thrust of charge will be done in Multi Boost Charge Pumps. The temperature will be kept under 43℃ thanks to a Temperature Management Algorithm. The use of “industry-leading lithium batteries” will also apparently sustain 80% of battery capacity even at 1000+ charge cycles. Realme Buds Air 3 Specs, Features, and Price

Realme Buds Air 3 sports a 10mm dynamic bass boost driver with a liquid crystal polymer diaphragm. The audio Dolby Audio certified. Similarly, the buds are TUV Rheinland rated for ANC up to 42 dB. Other goodies in the mix are simultaneous dual device connection, IPX5 water resistance, 88ms super-low latency mode, anti-wind call noise cancellation, fast charging, and 30 hours of music playback on a single charge without ANC, but with the case. It will be available in Europe in Blue and White colours at €59.99 (~₹5,085).

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Stays true to its moniker

An affordable alternative to the Sony WH-1000XM4 and a bass lover’s dream, the Sony WH-XB910N has a lot going for it. Not only do you get ANC, app support, and multipoint connection support, but you also get a solid, robust build and excellent battery life. However, the ANC performance is not close to Sony’s flagship headsets, so keep that in mind. The sound signature is quite bass-forward though and may only appease hardcore bass lovers, so purists and audiophiles should look the other way.

The Sony Extra Bass (XB) lineup has always been a popular one in India, with an audience that largely prefers bass-heavy headsets. We’ve reviewed several XB headphones over the years, and they usually stay true to their moniker, being that extra bass promised. The Sony WH-XB910N is the company’s newest entrant in the XB lineup equipped with Noise Cancelling abilities. Priced at Rs 14,990, the WH-XB910N is cheaper than the company’s most premium noise-cancelling headset – the lauded WH-1000XM4 – and it comes with similar features. So, users who may not want to spend more than 20K on a noise-cancelling pair of cans may find the Sony WH-XB910N more appealing, price-wise. Additionally, those who prefer a more bass-driven sound signature may also gravitate towards these headphones. However, how do these headphones perform and are they worth their price tag? Let’s find out that and more in this review.

Sony WH-XB910N: Build and comfort

Sony WH-XB910N Review

The Sony WH-XB910N’s design is reminiscent of the more expensive WH-1000XM4. The shape and styling are very similar but these headphones are lacking the copper accents that give the Mark 4s their aesthetic appeal. The WH-XB910N looks simple and plain but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The headphones are also very light, weighing merely 252g. The weight is also evenly distributed and you won’t feel stress at any one point when wearing the cans.

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Build and design

The headphones have an over-ear design with thick, plushy foam ear cups. The underside of the headband is also padded with foam, making these headphones supremely comfortable to wear. The urethane memory foam ear cups do get slightly warm after long periods of usage though. However, the headset is extremely comfortable to use in most scenarios including walking, jogging or merely sitting.

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Build and design

The headphones are very flexible so they should fit large-sized heads too. The headband extenders allow for variability in fit as well, allowing small or large-sized heads to wear the headphones comfortably. The earcups also rotate so they can sit flat on your chest when not in use. The headphones can be folded as well, so they are easily portable. Sony has provided a hard carrying case with a fabric texture, which is convenient for carrying the headphones around.

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Build and design

The power and ANC buttons are situated on the side of the left earcup. They’re easy to press and have pretty good tactile feedback. At the bottom, you also have a 3.5mm audio jack to listen to music passively using the provided 3.5mm cable. There’s also a USB Type-C port for charging. On the right side, you have the touch-sensitive panel on top of the earcup. You can use the touch panel to pause/play music, skip tracks, control volume levels, and activate voice assistant. The controls are simple, intuitive and worked flawlessly during our testing.

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Case

Inside the box, you get the headphones themselves, a hard fabric-textured carrying case, a 3.5mm audio cable, a USB Type-C charging cable, and some documentation.

Sony WH-XB910N: Features

The Sony WH-XB910N serves up an array of features present in the Sony WH-1000XM4 at a more affordable price to users. Firstly, the cans come equipped with Active Noise Cancellation and Ambient Sound. The headphones are equipped with two feedforward and feedback microphones that capture environmental noise and either subdue it with ANC or amplify it with Ambient Sound mode.

Another excellent feature present on these headphones is Sony Headphones Connect app support. The app allows access to a plethora of features and customisations including Sony’s AI-based Adaptive Sound Control, 5-band customisable EQ, 360 Reality Audio setup, Sony’s DSEE upscaling technology and voice assistant function. The Adaptive Sound Control function uses AI smarts to detect your surroundings or actions and apply a noise-cancelling mode accordingly. So, when you’re walking, it turns on ambient sound so you can hear your surroundings, and when you’re sitting it turns on ANC mode. You can tweak what activity applies which noise-cancelling mode within the app, as per your preference.

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Features

360 Reality Audio is present but there aren’t too many apps that support the feature in India. As for DSEE, it enhances and upscales digital files to bring them as close to the original recording’s quality as possible, according to Sony. You can also toggle multipoint connectivity within the app that allows you to connect two devices to the headphones simultaneously. Additionally, you can pick between the device voice assistant or a handsfree voice assistant (Google Assistant or Alexa) within the app. We picked Google Assistant and used handsfree commands a lot to call people, have assistant read out our notifications, and more. Overall, the app is very feature-rich and allows users to have more granular control over the headphones.

As for other features, the headphones come with Quick Attention Mode which is possibly one of our favourite features to use on ANC headphones. Placing your palm on top of the right earcup activates ambient sound and turns down media volume, allowing you to have a quick conversation or pay attention to announcements at railway stations or airports. It is an excellent feature that we really enjoy using and miss having on headsets from other companies.

The headphones also support Google’s Fast Pair, allowing you to connect the headphones to your Android device in a jiffy and you can even ring them to find them if misplaced. The headphones support Swift Pair as well, allowing them to be connected to Windows 10 PCs with ease via a pop-up pairing window.

Sony WH-XB910N: Performance

The Sony WH-XB910N headphones feature 40mm dynamic drivers and support the SBC, AAC and LDAC audio codecs. LDAC is a high-quality codec that provides 96kHz sampling at 990kbps, which in turn allows for more detailed sonic representation. The headphones are part of Sony’s XB (eXtra Bass) lineup and they stay true to that moniker. While not as ridiculously lows-biased as their predecessors – the Sony WH-XB900N – they still favour the lower end of the frequency spectrum.

The cans have a warm, V-shaped sonic signature with boosted bass and treble notes. The bass is punchy and dynamic while the mids are recessed. This sonic signature lends itself well to genres such as pop, rap, EDM and Bollywood and will please bass lovers. However, audiophiles and purists should turn away since the bloated bass can definitely sound muddy at times and hamper the clarity of the already-recessed mids.

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Sound quality

In tracks such as Another One Bites The Dust by Queen, the bass notes sound boomy and veil the details in Mercury’s vocals quite a bit. The sound you get is pretty one-dimensional and it doesn’t work with genres such as classical and blues. The highs can get slightly shrill as well and the drop off isn’t as precise as we’d hope as well. The soundstage is wide though and feels as if it extends well beyond the confines of your head. The headphones also suffer from sound leakage, we recorded well beyond 70dB of sound leakage, which isn’t ideal, especially when listening to music around other people.

Overall, these headphones’ sound signature is best suited to those who prefer bass-biased headphones and not to those looking for a more natural and balanced sound. However, you can use the customisable EQ within the app to tailor the sound to your liking. We found that lowering the bass and treble a bit can really make a tremendous difference.

As for ANC performance, it isn’t as effective as that on the Mark 4s. Low, constant sounds are dealt with pretty decently but more erratic, high-frequency sounds barely get suppressed at all. So, sounds such as high-speed fans, the clacking of a mechanical keyboard, the sound of train tracks, or people speaking make their way through almost unhindered even with ANC turned on. The cans are more proficient at dealing with sounds such as an AC’s hum, a PC’s whir, etc. Moving on to ambient sound mode, the effect provided allows users to be aware of their surroundings but the sound is slightly unnatural. The same is true for the Sony WH-1000XM4’s ambient sound mode as well, so Sony needs to put in some work in this area.

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Microphone performance

Wireless connectivity is exceptionally stable on these headphones. You get Bluetooth v5.2 which is a huge improvement over its predecessor’s v4.2. There were no lags or stutters in the connection and the latency is barely noticeable unless you really look for it. If you’re really nitpicky about this, you can use the 3.5mm cable to listen passively without any latency.

Finally, coming to microphone performance, the Sony WH-XB910N does pretty well in this regard. The headphones pick up the speaker’s voice and relay it clearly with minimal distortion. The speaker’s voice can sound slightly muffled at times, but the overall experience is a pleasant one. The headphones’ microphone is best used in an indoor setting for meetings and calls. Outdoors, the microphones tend to pick up a lot of ambient sound which may sour the calling experience.

Sony WH-XB910N: Battery life

Sony WH-XB910N Review: Battery life

The Sony WH-XB910N’s battery life is nothing short of exemplary. You get 30 hours of wireless playback with ANC turned on and a whopping 50 hours with ANC turned off. In our tests, the headphones managed a playback time of 31 hours with ANC turned on and the battery levels set at 60 per cent. Not just this, the headphones also support fast charging. So, plugging the headphones into a charger for merely 10 minutes will provide 4.5 hours’ worth of wireless playback time! This is extremely convenient and we barely had to charge the device through our week-long testing phase. The headphones take about 3.5 hours to charge to full though, which is a tad longer than desirable.

Sony WH-XB910N: Verdict

An affordable alternative to the Sony WH-1000XM4 and a bass lover’s dream, the Sony WH-XB910N has a lot going for it. Not only do you get ANC, app support, and multipoint connection support, but you also get a solid, robust build and excellent battery life. However, the ANC performance is not close to Sony’s flagship headsets, so keep that in mind. The sound signature is quite bass-forward though and may only appease hardcore bass lovers, so purists and audiophiles should look the other way. There are options in the market at a similar price range with a more balanced sound signature from Sennheiser and Jabra, but if booming bass is your style, there’s really no reason to look another way.

Canon EOS R5 C joins Canons Cinema EOS Systems lineup, price starting at Rs 3,99,990

Canon recently announced a new camera that adds to their lineup of Cinema EOS Systems that not only boast excellent performance in the video department but also exceptional photography capabilities. Along with the Canon EOS R5 C, Canon also expands their lineup of L-series RF Prime lenses with the new RF800mm F5.6L IS USM and the RF1200mm F8L IS USM which are touted to be significantly lighter, weighing in at just a little over 3 kgs.

Canon EOS R5 C specs

As we already mentioned, the EOS R5 C is engineered to provide excellent performance when it comes to video and is exceptional for photography as well. Well, the question is, what makes it perform so well and what are the major selling points of this system. To start with, the camera is designed to be compact and lightweight, weighing just around 680-grams. It also has ergonomics that make it comfortable to hold for long durations in both photo and video modes.

In terms of specifications, the Canon EOS R5C boasts a full-frame CMOS sensor featuring 45MP. The image processing duties are taken over by the DIGIC X processor. Those two together give the camera the ability to shoot video at a whopping 8K at 60 frames per second RAW. One thing to note though is that 8K at 60P is only possible with an external power supply, while anything lower than that like 8K at 30P at RAW as well don't have a need for an external power supply. Shooting at high resolutions and high frames can sometimes lead to overheating in cameras, especially compact ones, but the EOS R5 C features an internal cooling fan that keeps the camera between acceptable operating temperatures.

Canon also puts its legendary focusing prowess to good use on the EOS R5 C, with the camera featuring the tried and tested Dual Pixel CMOS AF tech with Eye AF, Face AF and deep learning tech that improves when used more. You can also control the Auto Focus via the articulating touchscreen LCD.

Articulating touchscreen of the Canon EOS R5 C

Canon EOS R5 C vs R5

While the new Canon EOS R5 C shares a major portion of its name with Canon’s other mirrorless camera, there are a few differences that make the two totally different beasts. One of the most notable differences is that the R5 C has a cooling fan which increases the thickness of the device when compared to the non “C” sibling. That accounts for the major visual difference between the two but there are internal changes as well where the R5 can one-up the R5 C and that is in the stabilisation department. The R5 features IBIS or In Body Image Stabilisation, which is not present on the R5 C.

Canon EOS R5 C price in India

The Canon EOS R5 C will be priced at Rs 3,99,990 (Body Only) in India. Basically, the Canon EOS R5 C is a proper hybrid camera. Unlike other cameras that are primarily photo-centric with controls and interfaces designed for photographers first, the R5 C is designed from the ground up to serve dual purposes and do justice to both. For example, it has a power dial that can toggle between the video and photo modes and that even gives you different interfaces dedicated to making life easier in that mode in essence giving you two supremely capable cameras in one body. Or as we like to call it, a true hybrid.

Government suggests 5G rollout in India to take place by August 15, 2022: Report

5G-equipped phones are here. People also have been waiting for 5G for a while now. But, if new reports are to be believed, things are picking up pace and even the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) wants 5G to be here by August 15, 2022, i.e., this year’s Independence Day. Apparently, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has asked the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to drop its recommendations on the reserve price and rules for the 5G allocation process.

"Trai has indicated that they will send it (recommendations) by March. Thereafter, it will take us a month to make a decision around it," says Telecom Secretary K Rajaraman.

5G in India by 15 August: Know the details

So, as already mentioned DoT wants recommendations from TRAI regarding the pricing and sale process of 5G. Once they have that, it is said to take 2 months to kick off the auction. At least that’s what Rajaraman predicts.

The list of suggestions it has sought from TRAI also includes block size of spectrum and payments terms and conditions.

TRAI does its due diligence and will pick the brains of all stakeholders of this whole 5G rollout like telecom operators.

Anyways, once it does its part, the Digital Communications Commission (previously the Telecom Commission) will review the recommendations and then pass them to the cabinet for ultimate approval.

“In reference to decisions/action points emanating from deliberations of a monitoring group, PMO has requested DoT to work towards the initial launch of 5G by August 15, 2022, and also explore the possibility of obtaining requisite recommendations from Trai before March 2022. In view of the above, Trai is requested to expedite the matter and provide the recommendations at the earliest,” remarked DoT in a letter to TRAI.

So, PM Modi’s office wants 5G to be up and running by August 15, 2022. So, the clock is ticking.

Also, the DoT has revealed that the 900MHz, as well as 800MHz and 1800MHz, are now available for auction.

So, let’s see if things stay on track and how it all work out. We shall keep you posted.

Samsung Galaxy A73, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy A23 specs leaked

Samsung’s mid-tier roster for the year will have a range of phones placed at various price points. The spate of phones would consist of alphanumeric names like Galaxy A73, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy A23. At least these are the phones whose details have leaked now. They come from a Twitter handle @Shadow_Leak via GSMArena.

Let’s have a look.

Samsung Galaxy A73, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy A23 specs (Expected)

Samsung Galaxy A73 will reportedly have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device could house a Snapdragon 750G alongside a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The leak also tells the cameras would be a 108MP primary camera sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, a 12MP sensor, and an 8 MP sensor. Apparently, one of those would be ultrawide while the other handles the zooming up to a 2/3x distance.

Secondly, we have the Galaxy A53, which is said to ship with a yet-to-release Exynos 1200 processor. This will be accompanied by a 5000mAh battery with 25W charging support inside. The screen on the surface is a 6.52-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The rear cameras are likely a 64MP main sensor, a 12MP superwide field of view, a 5 MP depth, and a 5MP macro module.

Next, there is Galaxy A33 that flaunts a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with purportedly 60 Hz refresh rate only. Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 720 chip is at work, taking power from a 5000mAh cell with 15W charging support. The camera department, meanwhile, is rumored to present a 48MP+ 8MP (ultrawide)+ 5MP (macro)+ 2MP (depth) sensor. The phone is however said to run on Android 11, which if true is discouragingly dated at this point.

And lastly, Samsung will be using a 6.6-inch 1080p display with a 90Hz IPS LCD screen on the Galaxy A23. At the heart of it, the Dimensity 700 chip might power the device with help from a 5000mAh battery. The phone could come with 15W charging support. Other things in the mix may be a 50MP+ 8MP ultrawide+ 2MP macro+ 2MP depth quartet, and again Android 11.

So, at the moment, we have got specs in bits and pieces only. We will inform you as soon as we have more details.

So, keep reading Digit.in for this and other news, feature stories, buying guides, reviews, and everything else tech-related.

Google Pixel 7 Pro renders show off a similar Pixel 6 series look

Google is known to have difficulty in keeping its unreleased product details under wrap. So as is traditionally the case, the renders of its forthcoming flagship have already been leaked. The drop comes from OnLeaks via Smartprix.com and it strips down all there’s to see about the upcoming Pixel 7 Pro. The phone seems to be sharing a similar design language as its precursor. That means a slightly curved fascia with a central punch hole camera and a triple rear camera setup. Yes, it continues the visor-like appearance at the back, although the protrusion looks a bit flatter.

Here’s everything we have learned about the device so far:

Google Pixel 7 Pro Design, Specs, and Features (Expected)

The Pixel 7 Pro will reportedly come with a 6.7 to 6.8-inch curved OLED screen on the front with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The bezels look rather slim. And even though this has rounded edges, the regular Pixel 7 could have a flat-screen like its antecedent.

Google Pixel 7 Pro renders | Image Source: OnLeaks

Coming to the backside, there, you get to see a familiar visor-like camera housing with three cameras (probably of the same kinds as before). Yes, it borrows the design cues from the Pixel 6 lineup but there seems to be a smattering difference if you look closer. That is here in this renders, the camera hump looks fading into the frame and it isn’t that jutting out either.

One other tiny difference is the missing plastic strip housing the mmWave antenna which it looks like is being switched with a mmWave window flanking by the side frame.

Rest, it is said to have a USB-C port, dual stereo speaker setup, a SIM card tray,  and physical dimensions of 163×76.6×8.7mm.

That’s all for now. We will keep you posted on the new updates about Google’s Pixel 7 lineup. So, stay tuned.

OnePlus Nord TWS earbuds in Black with Gold accents surfaces in 5K renders

OnePlus looks like it is going to unveil a new True Wireless (TWS) earbuds soon as the renders of it are already here. We get to see the earphones and their case from different angles. The variant in the pictures is in black colour with golden accents. The charging cradle also shares the same colour combination. It looks suave in the 5K images shared by OnLeaks through 91Mobiles.com.

Here’s everything we have grasped from the report.

OnePlus Nord TWS Design, Specs, and Features (Expected)

To reiterate once again, the new leaks showcase the design of the buds and the box they come in. Both in the black shade (although there could be more in tow) but to give it a bit more character, there is a gold colour on what seems like a hardware button. This could be a multi-functioning one with music, calls, and other controls.

The stalk below isn’t too long giving the earbuds a cutesy look. The other side has in-ear tips. Even though we don’t get to see, there must be mics for calls too.

Besides, the form and colours, the OnePlus Nord TWS could offer ANC and low-latency game mode.

However, as of now, the details are scarce. Also, as the leakster states, the “earbuds renders are based on the live images of final prototyping stage units. Hence it is hard to show the exact design through renders just yet as there could be a few tiny changes in details on the final product when they officially launch. But this could be the overall outlook of the OnePlus Nord earbuds.”

We should have better knowledge of it going forward.

Realme Pad Mini leaked renders reveal its design and specs like Unisoc T616 SoC

The original Realme Pad was a welcome addition to the tablet offerings in the market under the ₹20,000 price segment. And now a Mini sibling of it seems to be incoming. Called Realme Pad Mini, this one is reported to have a smaller 8.7-inch display while the former had a 10.7-inch panel. This leak comes from OnLeaks through Smartprix.com and shares with us a proper look at the rear side of the device. It also spills some beans about what to expect from this new Realme tablet like its Unisoc T616 chipset, a 6400mAh battery, and an 8MP camera at the back.

Here are all the details we currently n:

Realme Pad Mini Images, Specs, and Features

Realme Pad Mini is rumoured to sport an 8.7-inch panel with a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. Meanwhile, by the backside, there is a solo 8MP camera that comes in a different housing than the predecessor.

Also, different from the standard Realme Pad would be its internal machinery. The leak suggests that it could have a Unisoc T616 processor at the heart with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and a 6400mAh juice tank. This might come supported by an 18W charger.

Finally, all these would be packed in a 7.6mm thick chassis, claims the report. Now, since it’s too early to tell if these are accurate, we would advise you to consume them with a proverbial grain of salt.

Krafton gives players chance to win Royale Pass 8 for free: Heres how to participate

Battlegrounds Mobile India has recently made available its new Royale Pass 8. Now, it is giving all players the opportunity to earn it for free. In order to do so, they need to participate in a scavenger hunt to be eligible. Here’s how it works.

Those interested in participating will first have to follow the official BGMI account on Instagram, @battlegroundsmobilein_official. Next, they have to find the new RPM8 logo in the new Santorini map. Once players find it, they will have to take a screenshot, highlight the logo, and then post the image on their Instagram account while tagging the official Battlegrounds Mobile India page. They then will have to fill out the form link in the official BGMI Instagram bio.

Krafton Inc. notes that only 20 lucky players will win the contest and get the new BGMI Royale Pass 8 for free. Further, it should also be noted that the contest will end on February 23.

With the recent banning of Garena Free Fire, Battlegrounds Mobile India is down a chief competitor. Some might call this a bit of karma as Garena Free Fire was one of the games that benefited from the banning of BGMI’s predecessor, PUBG Mobile. It is not yet known if or when Free Fire will be released in India again. However, in the midst of all this, Activision's Call of Duty: Mobile seems to be sitting quite pretty as the game severed its ties to Tencent before the initial ban wave by the Indian government. Speaking of Call of Duty, Activision recently announced that this year’s mainline Call of Duty titles will be a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare. On top of this, players can also expect “new experiences in Warzone.” It is possible that additional details will be revealed during E3.

Vivo V23e 5G launched in India with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, 44W charging, and 44MP selfie camera

The Vivo V23e had originally debuted last year but it’s finally here in India. It would be one of the budget 5G offerings from the brand. We have already got the Vivo V23 and Vivo V23 Pro in the country. However, this newcomer doesn't come with a colour-changing Fluorite AG glass back. And the specs are also trimmed down in comparison. It is priced at ₹25,990 and for that, you are getting MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset, a 4050mAh battery with 44W charging, a 44-megapixel camera on the front, and a 50-megapixel camera leading a triplet at the back. Let’s take a cursory look at the specifications and then how much the complete package costs.

Vivo V23e Specs and Features

Vivo V23e has a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. There is a tiny teardrop cut within which resides a 44MP selfie shooter. The back camera, meanwhile, is housed within a rectangular island. The sensors are a 50MP main one, an 8MP ultrawide one, and a 2MP macro one.

It is also a little out there that the device also rocks a ‘44’ watt power brick support. It is tasked to charge up a 4050mAh battery.

At the core of the phone, there is a Dimensity 810 chip coupled with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The software on top is Android 11 based Funtouch OS 12. Dizo Wireless Power launched in India with 88ms Super Low Latency and 112mm Bass Boost Driver

Dizo, the first brand in the Realme TechLife ecosystem, has added a new neckband earphone called Dizo Wireless Power to its product line. This new earphone comes with an 11.2mm driver with a Bass Boost+ algorithm. It has 88ms super-low latency too. Now if you’re wondering how much ‘power’ it holds, know that the claimed endurance is of 18 hours.

Let’s see what all does this new Dizo earphone has to offer:

Dizo Wireless Power Specs and Features

Dizo Wireless Power works over Bluetooth 5.2. And the audio delivered is created by an 11.2mm sized driver with Bass Boost capability. Since it’s of in-ear shape, you can get a passive noise reduction. This should be to some extent complemented by Environmental Noise Cancelation (ENC) for cutting down ambient sounds during calls.

However, if you want to prioritize response times instead, there is a game mode that reduces the latency as low as 88ms. This is apparently 50% of regular latency. You may notice some differences while gaming and all.

So while it's used, it is rated to run 18 hours of music playback. Other advertised battery stats include 2 hours time to charge it fully (through a USB-C port) and a 2-hour runtime from just a 10-minute top-up.

When you aren’t using it you can easily turn it off by magnetic attachment. Detaching it will resume your music or take a call. There is a multi-functioning button too on it that lets you do the following:

Single Press: Play/pause music playback and answer/end calls Double Press: Next song Press 3 times: Game mode Press and Hold: Reject a call

You get to configure these touch controls as well as EQ settings and a few other settings in the Realme Link app.

Finally, the Dizo Wireless Power also sports IPX4 water resistance, which should be good to have.

Dizo Wireless Power India Price and Availability

It will be available in Green. Violet, and Black via Flipkart starting at ₹999. It will be retailing through Flipkart and Dizo website from February 25 at 12 PM.

Qualcomm working on AV1 codec support for its future Snapdragon SoCs: Report

Its mobile rivals Samsung and MediaTek have it. And other tech companies like Nvidia and Netflix have it. And now Qualcomm is also getting on the AV1 bandwagon as per a recent report. According to Protocol, the mobile chipmaker is “planning to add support for AV1 to its upcoming flagship Snapdragon mobile processor”. The report also adds that 2023 would be the “year AV1 finally sees broader adoption”.

Snapdragon AV1 support: Here’s what you need to know

Qualcomm is said to introduce AV1 codec support with a future Snapdragon processor codenamed ‘SM8550’. Now, the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 carries a code name ‘SM8450’ while the supposedly next-in-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ with ‘SM8475’ model name is rumoured to be in the works. That pattern of nomenclature would suggest the one with ‘SM8550’ could be Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, that’s likely to release in 2023.

More specifically, it would be Snapdragon’s Adreno GPU that supports this native AV1 feature.

Needless to say, things might change subject to market conditions and other factors.

Now what’s somewhat reassuring is that earlier this year, in an interview with Anandtech, Qualcomm’s SVP Alex Katouzian said, “we haven't been able to accommodate AV1. We'll probably accommodate in the future, but up until now, we just haven't been able to do it. It’s not that we don't want to do it - we just haven't had the ability to plan it in in time to try to make that happen.”

AV1 (AOMedia Video Codec 1.0) is an open-source royalty-free video codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media, which consists of big tech companies like Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Google,  Microsoft, and Intel among its founding members. AV1 vaunts better efficiency in video decoding, i.e., faster video playback and streaming with improved visual quality at bit rates about 50% less than H.264 (HEVC).

So, although Qualcomm is taking its sweet time adopting this AV1 codec, when it does arrive, a large share of the Android phone market will reap its potential benefits. And we will be looking forward to this.

Sonos Roam Review: One of the better-sounding portable speakers

Priced at Rs 19,999, the Sonos Roam is a luxury portable speaker that impresses in more ways than one. Be it the seamless Wi-Fi + Bluetooth connectivity, powerful audio, or IP67 rugged build, the Sonos Roam justifies its price point, especially for those with an existing Sonos speaker system at home.

Sonos recently entered the Indian wireless speaker market to much fanfare. Given that the Sonos Move already impressed us tremendously and won the Digit Zero1 Award for the Best Performing Wireless Speaker of 2021, our expectations were high. However, it must be noted that this is only the company’s second attempt at a battery-powered speaker. The brand is otherwise renowned for its premium speakers that offer multi-device setups. Priced at Rs 21,999, the Sonos Roam is definitely exorbitantly priced in comparison to competitors from brands such as JBL and Ultimate Ears. However, it does come equipped with unique features such as Sonos’ multi-room setup. Aside from being Bluetooth powered, the speaker can also use Wi-Fi to work with your existing Sonos multi-room audio system. The speaker also packs a host of other features that we will discuss in this review. The ultimate question to be answered is if the Sonos Roam can set itself apart from the competition to be worth 20K. Let’s find out.

Sonos Roam: Build and design

Sonos Roam Review: Build and design

With the Sonos Roam, the company retains the minimalist, classy aesthetic present in previous devices such as the Move. However, one major distinguishing factor is that, with the Roam, Sonos has focused much more on portability and overall ruggedness. The speaker is pretty diminutive, weighing merely 0.43 kg. In contrast, the Sonos Move, which is also a battery-powered Bluetooth/Wi-Fi speaker weighs a whopping 3kgs. The Roam, on the other hand, is easily portable and can be carried around in a bag or purse. The speaker boasts a honeycomb grille, however, it doesn’t wrap all the way around the speaker’s body so you won’t get a 360-degree sound.

Sonos Roam Review: Build and design

It has a long, cylindrical shape that can be set upright or horizontally, as per your preference. If you place it horizontally, the button of the speaker has rubber anti-slip grips to keep it steady. The speaker comes with a feature dubbed TruePlay that automatically adjusts the sound based on the speaker’s orientation. We will speak more about TruePlay in the features section.

The lightweight build aside, the Sonos Roam is also rated IP67 dust and water-resistant which makes a worthwhile outdoors speaker, protecting it from elements such as debris and rain. You can even use the speaker in the shower without worrying about water damage. The speaker can even survive being underwater, according to the company, however, we advise against trying this out.

Sonos Roam Review: Build and design

The control buttons are on the left side of the speaker (when placed horizontally). There are volume controls, a pause/play button, and a microphone button. The pause/play button has multiple functions and can be used to seek tracks as well. The buttons are embossed and tactile, and we prefer them over the touch buttons on the Sonos Move.

Sonos Roam Review: Build and design

On the back of the speaker, you have the power button. Pressing and holding this button activates pairing to connect the speaker to a source device. You also have the USB Type-C charging port situated under the power button. The speaker is available in two colours - Shadow Black and Lunar White. Both look classy and aesthetically pleasing, as most Sonos devices do.

Sonos Roam: Features

The Sonos Roam comes packing a fair number of extra features that you don’t usually get with portable speakers to justify its exorbitant price. One such feature is called Sound Swap. What this feature does is, essentially allow you to “throw” the music from your Sonos Roam speaker to the nearest Sonos speaker in the area, and vice versa. Now, pressing and holding the pause/play button for one second will allow you to pair the Roam with other Sonos products and play music on the Sonos products simultaneously. Essentially, you can have a host of Sonos speakers set all over the house and pair them all together to play music all around the house at the same time. However, in order to activate the Sound Swap feature, you need to hold down the pause/play button for longer than a second.

Sonos Roam Review: Features

Now, your music should start playing automatically on the closest Sonos speaker. This feature worked seamlessly in our testing phase. We were able to easily “throw” the music from the Roam to the Move and vice versa, all without having to pull out your phone. If you want the Sonos Roam to pick up the music again, simply press and hold the pause/play button on the Roam for more than a second, once again.

The speaker, as mentioned before, works on both Bluetooth v5.0 and Wi-Fi. It has something called an Automatic Switching feature that connects the speaker to Wi-Fi automatically when in range and pairs to your phone again when out of Wi-Fi range, making the transition between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modes smooth. The speaker also supports Apple AirPlay 2, which is excellent for iOS users.

The speaker is also compatible with the Sonos app, which you will need to get started. Once you download the app, you can go to Settings > System > Add Product. Follow the instructions on the screen and you should have the speaker connected to your Wi-Fi network and your phone in no time. The app also has a product tour that explains the speaker’s controls and features. When on Wi-Fi, there’s support for AirPlay2 and other music streaming services within the app such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Tidal, and a few others.

Now, the speaker is also compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa in some countries, however, the feature isn’t available in India yet, which is very disappointing. This is one of the main attractions of the speaker since it basically transforms the Roam into a smart speaker (on Wi-Fi only) capable of controlling itself handsfree, controlling other smart home devices, answering questions via the web, and more. So, it’s a shame that Indian users who buy this device will not be able to access this feature, for now. We hope Sonos will implement this feature for the Indian market as soon as possible, but there’s no clear date in sight yet.

Sonos Roam Review: Features

The Sonos Roam also comes with a feature called Automatic Trueplay that optimises the sound for the location or environment you’ve placed it in. As per Sonos, the speaker’s microphone detects the environment and makes periodic tuning adjustments to ensure the best possible sound. The microphone needs to be turned on to use this feature, of course, so ensure that the mic button is on. In our testing, we noticed minor tuning differences in different environments, but it isn’t very apparent. Lastly, the speaker supports Qi wireless charging and Sonos sells a wireless charging dock separately that will charge the speaker at up to 15W. You can also wirelessly charge it with your existing Qi wireless charger if you have one.

Sonos Roam: Performance

Equipped with two Class-H digital amplifiers, one tweeter, and one mid-woofer, the Sonos Roam delivers powerful audio which is surprising given its compact size. The sound isn’t 360-degree but it fills a medium-sized room with ease. The Sonos Move, however, delivers more room-filling, fuller-sounding sonic performance. But the Roam does come surprisingly close to it.

The bass response is slightly over-emphasised but that works well in open environments since you can still feel the punchiness. The bass response is hefty but still controlled enough to avoid too much auditory masking.

The mids are detailed and clear, however, the low highs are slightly weak in the mix therefore, you will lose some detail in cymbals and hi-hats. This isn’t an audiophile-worthy speaker like the Sonos Move but it is one of the best-sounding portable speakers of its size that we’ve come across. The detail in the mids and the heft of the bass easily beats competing products from JBL and Ultimate Ears, however, those speakers are also usually cheaper.

Sonos Roam Review: Performance

The overall representation of the music is slightly bass-biased but we prefer that in outdoor speakers. If you’re using the speaker indoors, you can EQ down the bass response slightly for it to be less jarring indoors.

As for battery life, Sonos promises up to 10 hours of wireless playtime (at moderate volume levels). We listened to the speaker at about 55-60 per cent volume and it lasted roughly 8.5 hours in our tests. The speaker can also last up to 10 days in sleep mode. The speaker automatically goes into this mode when not in use.

The speaker charges with the included cable to about 50 per cent in an hour but wirelessly charging it takes about 4 hours for a full charge. Overall, the battery life is mediocre or even lacklustre compared to some options that provide 16-24 hours while having a similar footprint.

Sonos Roam: Verdict

Priced at Rs 19,999, the Sonos Roam is a luxury portable speaker that impresses in more ways than one. Be it the seamless Wi-Fi + Bluetooth connectivity, powerful audio, or IP67 rugged build, the Sonos Roam justifies its price point, especially for those with an existing Sonos speaker system at home. Features such as Automatic Trueplay and Sound Swap are also welcome additions as well, however, the convenient voice assistant feature is absent in India, which is disappointing. Also, the battery life, at 10 hours, is pretty lacklustre at this price. Overall, the speaker is extremely impressive when it comes to sound, connectivity and build but the lacklustre battery life and missing voice assistant function are pretty significant drawbacks. Nevertheless, as a whole, the Sonos Roam is an excellent offering that should be an excellent companion both indoors and outdoors.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar Review: The ultimate wearable to answer the call of the wild

The Garmin Fenix 7X is possibly the best multi-sport watch you can buy right now. It can do and track pretty much anything. And on top of that, it’s very accurate and the Garmin Connect app gives very detailed information. It has a solid build, excellent accuracy and a host of activity tracking options. Additional features such as the solar panel and built-in flashlight can be genuinely useful. But, at nearly a lakh, it isn’t something most of us will be able to afford. Regardless, if you want the best, money no bar, and are ok with limited smart features, then Garmin Fenix 7X Solar is the wearable for you.

If you want something more affordable, and only run or cycle, then you could consider the Garmin Forerunner 55. It offers you excellent accuracy and all the juicy stats via the Garmin Connect app. But, you will not have to say goodbye to a number of features including a touchscreen. If you are looking for a multi-sport watch with a pretty design, then the Fitbit Sense might just fit the bill. It’s pretty and offers a nice colour touchscreen as well.

If you still want something that can handle the great outdoors but want better smart features, consider the Suunto 7 Black. And if you just want a smartwatch with decent activity tracking, then an Apple Watch Series 7 or the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic might just be the thing for you.

Garmin’s wearables aren’t usually aimed at the typical first-time buyer who is just thinking about trying out a wearable. They are aimed at hardcore users who know exactly what they want. The Garmin Fenix 7X Solar follows that trend to a T. For starters, it is priced at Rs 98,990, which means it’s definitely not aimed at your typical buyers. So, who is the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar’s ideal user, and is the huge asking price worth it? Let’s find out!

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

Let’s cut to the chase, the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar is huge and heavy. If the Apple Watch Series 7 is a sleek and svelte sports car, the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar is a bulldozer. It is big, bulky, and butch. But this doesn’t mean it’s ugly. It has its own charm and the liberal use of brushed metal oozes machismo. In many ways, it reminds me of the CAT S60 (review) I had reviewed many years ago. Its beauty lies in its functionality.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

The case in the wearable is made from fibre-reinforced polymer with a metal rear panel. The bezel itself is made from Titanium and DLC (Diamond-like Carbon coated in Titanium). The strap is made from Silicon. It should be noted that the strap features the classic buckle style for fastening.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

On the right, you’ll find two buttons, one for starting/stopping activities, while the other is used to mark laps or go back in the menu. On the left are three buttons. The one on the bottom is used to scroll down, while the one in the middle is used to scroll up and access the menu itself. The one on top turns on the backlight and can also be used to turn on the flashlight.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

The flashlight offers multiple brightness levels and also offers red light. This light can be tweaked to strobe, pulse or blitz. It can also be used to signal for help and will light up to signal SOS in morse code. When in strobe mode, the light can be set to sync with cadence. So when the arm is in the forward stroke, it will light in which, and on the backstroke, it will light up in red. This can be quite helpful for those going for runs at night.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Build and design

With such a build, you would expect the wearable to be rugged and the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar feels like it can take on the elements. In a non-COVID world, I would have loved to take it out for a hike. But alas, I wasn't able to test the device to its limits. So I had to make do with dunking the device in a bucket of water. Needless to say, it passed. It should also be noted that while most wearables are rated at 5 ATM for water resistance, the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar is rated at 10 ATM.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

The Garmin Fenix 7X Solar packs a 1.4-inch trans-reflective memory-in-panel display. It’s very similar to the one we see in some Huami watches and offers pretty good legibility in bright outdoor conditions. While the display is fine, I really wished I could have had something like an OLED display, especially considering that the display isn’t that bright indoors, even with the backlight on.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

Of course, the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar lives up to its name by offering solar charging. Just around the outer bezel, one can see the solar charger. I will get into details about the wearable’s solar charging abilities in the ‘Battery’ section of the review.

As far as the UI goes, Garmin has taken its traditional UI and integrated touch controls. This makes it much easier to use and makes scrolling through menus much easier. But the fact that it can still be operated by the buttons means that users can still access all the features of the wearable, even if they were wearing gloves. A neat touch.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

The downside is that the UI is sort of stuck in the middle. Using the physical buttons isn’t nearly as intuitive as Samsung’s rotating bezel or Apple’s digital crown. Thankfully, users have pretty much full control over menus. So they can choose to have their most-used apps and features shown. This helps to negate the issue of long and cumbersome scrolling.

As far as smart features are concerned, the Garmin is not a full-blown smartwatch, but you do get some basic features. This includes notifications, caller ID, and the ability to send some limited responses to messages.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Fitness

The Fenix 7X is a multi-fitness device and Garmin takes that claim very seriously. The watch can track anything from walks to runs, to cycling, to workouts and more. It can even track the different types of cycling, bouldering, skiing, surfing, rowing, racquet sports, and more. In fact, you can also download the different golf courses. The app can search for nearby golf courses and gives you the option to download those. But we are getting ahead of ourselves.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

I tried doing my 7-minute exercises using the watch and it gives you all the basic information that you’ll need such as length of the workout, calories burned and average heart rate. But you can always dig into the app to get very detailed information such as the primary benefit of your workout, exercise load, intensity and more. You can also access charts that track your heart rate. As far as heart rate tracking goes, the device seemed quite accurate and I saw a spike towards the cardio-heavy part of the workout.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

As far as GPS tracking goes, I went for a walk around my society and it tracked my walk pretty accurately. It even tracked the moment where I cut a corner. The only issue I noted was that the GPS doesn’t seem to work very well when indoors.

As far as sleep tracking goes, the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar can track sleep quite well. The device can track sleep length and mark stages such as deep sleep, light sleep, REM, and awake time. It will also take SpO2 readings and measure respiration as well as movement during sleep. This is quite useful for those who may be suffering from sleep disorders such as sleep apnea. The only problem is the huge size of the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar makes it very uncomfortable to sleep with. More often than not, I just took it off before sleeping.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: App

The Fenix 7X Solar pairs with the smartphone via the Garmin Connect app. Pairing with the app is quite straightforward simply log in to Garmin and then the app will start looking for nearby devices. Then simply follow the on-screen instructions to pair.

The app is quite rich in terms of information provided to the user. The main page provides information condensed into cards. Tapping on any card gives detailed information for the same. Speaking of detailed information. While the sheer amount of information that is presented may seem overwhelming, Garmin has done a pretty good job of explaining each metric and how it affects you. Simply tap on any of the metrics to know that.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

The app also features challenges that can help motivate users. In fact, users can also create their own challenges and share them with the Garmin community. Speaking of community, the News Feed section is a sort of social platform for Garmin users where they can add friends and share their workouts. Finally, there is the calendar section where users can select any day and see all their activities for that day.  Of course, as with everything, users can edit these if they want by heading over to the drop-down menu,

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

However, the app has a lot more to offer! Head on over to the drop-down menu and you will see even more options to help you customise your experience. From here, you can download a plethora of different workouts which you can then access via the wearable. This includes HIIT workouts, Yoga and more. If you’re into golf, then there is a separate option from where you can download courses.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

While the Garmin Connect app is very detailed, there are times when I feel overwhelmed with so much information. I hope Garmin can find a better way to present the information without removing any of the features.

There is another app called Garmin Connect IQ. This app gives users customisation options for their wearables. Users can not only install watch faces as well as apps such as Spotify or Deezer. The app can also be used to create your own watch faces via the ‘Face It’ section.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Battery

The Fenix 7X Solar should easily offer you week-long battery life. In fact, as of writing this review, The wearable hasn’t been charged in just over a week and according to the device itself, there are still nine days of battery life left. But it should be noted that this is with continuous heart rate and SpO2 monitoring turned on. Slightly more judicious use can be extended even further.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Display and UI

The battery life could be even more extended if I was outside more. The solar panel on the outer bezel of the watch helps to extend battery life. And who is gonna say no to that?  However, it should be noted that the watch cannot run on solar power alone, it will have to be charged via the cable and this is where things get a little disappointing. The Fenix 7X Solar is charged via a proprietary cable that sticks into a slot on the bottom of the device. Ideally, I would have liked to have wireless charging or at least a magnet-based charger. It feels very archaic at this point, especially considering the cost of the device.

Garmin Fenix 7X Solar: Verdict

The Garmin Fenix 7X is possibly the best multi-sport watch you can buy right now. It can do and track pretty much anything. And on top of that, it’s very accurate and the Garmin Connect app gives very detailed information. It has a solid build, excellent accuracy and a host of activity tracking options. Additional features such as the solar panel and built-in flashlight can be genuinely useful. But, at nearly a lakh, it isn’t something most of us will be able to afford. If you still want something that can handle the great outdoors but want better smart features, consider the Suunto 7 Black (review). And if you just want a smartwatch with decent activity tracking, then an Apple Watch Series 7 or the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic might just be the thing for you.
