2 new OnePlus monitors are going to launch in India on December 12: Details

After TVs, OnePlus is expanding its portfolio into monitors now. The company is teasing the launch of the OnePlus Monitor X27 and the OnePlus Monitor E24 in India on December 12, 2022. In fact, the company had already announced it’s venturing into a new product category a few days back.

Well, now we know what it is.

OnePlus Monitor E24 and OnePlus Monitor X27 in India

The bigger of the two will be the OnePlus Monitor X27. It will be sporting a 27-inch screen and is being positioned for gaming and study purposes. Since it’s a higher-end product, it could come with a faster refresh rate as well as a better build and finish.

What feels like play to you, but looks like work to others #ComingSoon #OnePlus pic.twitter.com/UzWRROGZQ8

— OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) November 29, 2022

Meanwhile, the OnePlus Monitor E24 should be flaunting a 24-inch panel. The ‘E’ in the name could stand for economical or efficiency. But, that’s just a guess. As for the proposed use case, you could use it best for consuming media and go about using it in the regular day-to-day.

What’s likely to be common between the two, at least as the teaser hints is that they will be usable in both vertical and horizontal form. Also, we get to see the thickness of their bezels and what their stands look like. Coming from OnePlus, we expect them to offer decent build quality.

Speaking of OnePlus, the pricing could also be aggressive to compete against the prevalent players in the market. In time we will know. The company should be drip-feeding us with more details in the coming days. Note, the launch is scheduled for December 12.

LG launches new Smart Monitor with 4K display and AirPlay 2: Check specifications here

The South Korean tech giant LG has released a new smart monitor with a 4K screen resolution, AirPlay 2 and runs on WebOS. The smart monitor is a successor of the LG StanbyMe (yes, that was its name) released in February this year, which only offered 1080p resolution. However, the model had availability issues, and in spite of coming in a battery-powered variant, StanbyMe did not do well. Nevertheless, the new LG Smart Monitor with model number 32SQ780S seems promising.

LG's new Smart Monitor comes with a 4K display

First, the LG Smart Monitor comes with a 32-inch 4K screen, which makes the monitor both handy and useful. It runs on WebOS, a Linux-based operating system for smart monitors and TVs developed by the company. The smart monitor also has a feature called AirPlay 2 that allows it to stream audio to multiple devices simultaneously. Users can use the smart monitor to relay audio to multiple Bluetooth speakers or headsets simultaneously.

In terms of connectivity, the LG Smart Monitor provides many options, including two HDMI ports, three USB-A ports, one USB-C port and an RJ45 port if someone wants to use a wired internet connection. Hence, users can connect the smart monitor to a plethora of devices. In addition, the monitor comes with a triple-jointed stand that can be adjusted at several angles. It has a built-in clamp that holds it in place and provides a sturdy point of movement for the monitor.

The LG Smart Monitor could be priced at around US $499

Overall, the LG smart monitor is a hybrid monitor/TV as it provides all the functionality of a smart TV unless one wants a large TV screen. The 32-inch LG Smart Monitor is listed on Amazon; however, it cannot be ordered now. The price of the smart monitor will reportedly be around US $499, and it will come in a white finish only. However, LG has not yet announced a smart monitor release date; hence, the pricing can change.

Tech can help solve some of Indias biggest challenges: Microsoft President

New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) Microsoft President and Vice Chair Brad Smith on Thursday said that technology can help solve some of India's biggest challenges, like climate change and food security.

Smith, who is in India this week, said the country can take a giant leap via world-class innovations that can help solve global issues.

"I'm in India as the country celebrates 75 years of Independence. It's an exciting time to learn more about how technology can help solve some of India's biggest challenges -- and how India's innovation is shaping the future," tweeted Smith.

A Twitter user from India responded: "Welcome to India, Brad. Food security and climate change are the biggest threat to humanity and I strongly believe India will emerge as a global leader, showcasing how to make the world a better place for everyone".

The Microsoft president earlier met Minister of State for IT and Electronics, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, in the capital.

"Brad Smith, Microsoft India's Anant Maheshwari called on me at my office. Had a discussion around the future of emerging technologies," Chandrasekhar had tweeted.

Smith earlier said that India will become the global superpower in artificial intelligence (AI).

During the 'RAISE 2020' virtual conference on AI inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he applauded the Indian government's efforts in AI development, saying the national strategy on AI is the right foundation.

"AI can revolutionise virtually every part of the economy, and I think in so many ways the countries that move the fastest to deploy AI more quickly than others, will find that they will be accelerating economic growth," he had said.

Last Year, Smith said that India will play an important role in regulating technology.

"In my view, India has really been at the forefront, together with the EU, in advancing principles around digital sovereignty," Smith had said during a media interaction.
