Apple iPhone 14’s Emergency SOS via satellite feature has helped to save two hikers in New Zealand who were trapped because of the rising water levels as a result of the high rain runoff.

The rescue operation of the hikers was operated by New Zealand air and rescue ambulance operator GCH Aviation and Canterbury West Air Rescue Service. Canterbury confirmed its involvement in this rescue operation via its Instagram account.

"Did you know that an iPhone 14 has an SOS feature that can connect via satellite and alert authorities if you become lost or injured out in the backcountry?” Canterbury wrote, "Yesterday we were able to respond to some hikers stranded in a river because they had this technology with them.”

Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite feature had helped to save users many times. Earlier this year, the feature helped to save two tourists who got lost in an area without cellphone signal during an outing in the Apennine Mountains. Fortunately, they had an iPhone 14 which provided them the option to call for help via a satellite text message. They were then rescued by the local fire department.

Also, a hiker in California’s Angeles National Forest was rescued with the help of her iPhone 14’s Emergency SOS via satellite feature.

Google Pixel Watch 2 will help you manage your stress better: Check expected price

The rumours of Pixel Watch 2's announcement with Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro was confirmed earlier this month. Now a report by 9to5Google has given some clarity as to what we can expect from the watch and how it is going to be different from its predecessor.

Let's have a look at everything the Pixel Watch 2 has to offer.

Also Read: Google Pixel Watch 2 may arrive in different sizes: 3 things we know about it

Stress sensor in Pixel Watch 2

We have gathered from the report that the Pixel Watch 2 can feature the same sensors as the Fitbit 2’s health sensors.

The continuous electrodermal activity (cEDA) sensor which tracks the day’s stress and helps manage it and the skin temperature sensor are some of the major features that are expected to feature in the Pixel Watch 2.

Chip upgrade in the Pixel Watch 2

From the report we come to know that the Pixel Watch 2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset from the latest “W5” generation. We aren’t really sure about what changes or customisations the chipset would bring in for the new Google wearable.

Google has always used the Samsung Exynos for its watches, so the sudden shift came as a shock. It was expected that for Pixel Watch 2, Google will be relying on 5nm W920 which has been used in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and 5.

Also read: Pixel Fold, Pixel 8 Pro renders reveal major design details of the two Google phones

The change in chipset of the wearable can also lead to change in the chipset of future Pixel phones. But, it's too early to speculate anything as of now and we should wait to experience the changes once the watch is out.

Battery changes in Pixel Watch 2

Google is aiming towards a better battery life for the Pixel watch 2. As mentioned in the report, they are looking forward to over a day’s usage while the AOD is enabled.

But apart from that, people can also look forward to a better life by making some changes in the settings and taking precautions for power conservation.

Pixel Watch 2

Expected price of Pixel Watch 2

From everything we can gather online, the Pixel Watch 2 should be priced around the ₹30,000 price mark, might get priced a bit cheaper as well if Google wants to undercut the competition from Apple and Samsung in a big way.

These are the expected major upgrades that are likely to feature on the Google Pixel Watch 2 and as previous rumours have stated, this would be launched alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro later this year.

GTA VI will be something gamers have never seen before, teases Take-Two CEO

Grand Theft Auto is one of the most fabled and popular video game franchises of all time, with its latest installment, GTA V, which is about a decade old now, still going strong.

However, for some time now, fans have been waiting for Rockstar, the gamer’s publisher, to release the next installment of the series GTA VI. And gamers were treated to some encouraging news from none other than the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, who’re developing the next GTA adventure.

Strauss snag praises about the perfectionism in the Rockstar team

While things have been looking bleak for the fans for some time now, statements made by Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company), have given insights into the work being put into the development of the next Grand Theft Auto title and what it would bring to the table.

Strauss, when speaking to CNBC TV earlier this week, spoke about the work that the Rockstar development team has to put in to make each GTA game what it is.

GTA VI

He said, “It needs to be something you've never seen before on the one hand, and it needs to reflect the feeling that we have about Grand Theft Auto. That's a big challenge for the team."

He also sang praises about the Rockstar development team’s work ethic and the way they strive for nothing but perfection. During his interview, Strauss also spoke about the future of A.I. and his company;’s performance for Q4. But we aren’t here to talk about Take-Two’s finances here, right?

Well, in the interview, there was not much on offer from Strauss. He was as quiet as Rockstar has been about GTA VI. There has been no trailer or teaser in sight.

GTA VI

However, some gameplay footage leaked last year, had brought in a wave of reactions from the fans. Some loved the way the game looked and played; however, some compared it to older editions of GTA.

Sony is reportedly developing a PlayStation handheld device optimized for Remote Play

Sony is reportedly developing a PlayStation handheld console, but it won’t be a standalone console like the PlayStation Vita. The portable gaming device is apparently being designed to work with the Remote Play feature of the PlayStation console. Playstation Remote Play works for PS4 and PS5. It allows users to play supported PS games on pretty much all other devices including tablets, mobile phones and PCs over a robust and stable internet connection.

Rumoured Specifications and Availability

According to the reports from Insider Gaming, the upcoming accessory codenamed Q Lite will look a lot like the Sony Dual Sense controller but with a large display embedded in the middle. It is said to be equipped with an 8-inch LCD touchscreen designed for 1080p gaming at 60fps, along with adaptive triggers similar to those found on the PS5's DualSense controller. It will also include speakers, volume buttons and a 3.5mm audio jack.

PlayStation Handheld Although Remote Play can be used outdoors, it is primarily designed to function within the vicinity of your PS console over your home network. With the upcoming console, however, you may have the freedom to enjoy gaming anywhere within your home or continue gaming even when your TV is being used by someone/ for something else.

The report suggests that the launch of the Q Lite will take place sometime next year, potentially between the rumoured release of a PS5 model with a detachable disk drive in late 2023 and a PS5 Pro in late 2024. However, these models are currently in the early rumour phase, with no concrete evidence to confirm their existence.

Sony is reportedly also working on two new wireless audio devices for the PS5: earbuds and a headset named Voyager. These devices are expected to launch towards the end of FY23, which spans from April 2023 to March 2024.

OnePlus Q2 Pro QLED TV specs have leaked: Top 5 features to look out for

OnePlus could be bringing the successor to the Q1 series of TVs this year. Chronologically named, Q2 Pro, the TV could be QLED in nature, just like the OnePlus Q1 Pro. It is also going to be of 4K resolution. However, there are going to be some actual Pro-grade features this time around, at least as per the leak from 91Mobiles.

Top 5 OnePlus Q2 Pro specs (Expected) 1. 4K QLED TV

OnePlus Q2 Pro could be a 4K QLED TV like the precursor. To recall, OnePlus Q1 Pro had a 3840x2160 UltraHD resolution.

QLED, for the unversed, stands for quantum dot LED display. It gets that name for the nano semiconductor crystals called Quantum Dots used in the LCD backlight and/or colour filters. It should theoretically offer better colours and brightness.

2. 120Hz refresh rate

Unlike the Q1 Pro with a 60Hz refresh rate, the OnePlus Q2 Pro could offer a 120Hz panel. The increased refresh per second means reduced motion blur and smoother visuals.

OnePlus Q1 Pro TV

3. 65-inch screen

OnePlus could release a bigger 65-inch model of Q2 Pro. While the former came in at 55 inches, the larger canvas on the newcomer could mean a more immersive visual experience. Also, the bigger screen gives out a more premium vibe. We suspect the TV to be available in other screen sizes too.

4. 70W speakers

Compared to the 50W speaker setup on the Q1 Pro, this one could have a louder audio output owing to the 70W speakers aided by Dolby Atmos.

OnePlus

5. Google TV

OnePlus could equip the Q2 Pro QLED TV with Google TV-based OxygenPlay software. Internally, the TV is said to have 32GB of onboard storage space to download/store more content.

CES 2023: LGs latest Signature OLED TV has wireless audio and video transmission

LG announces new Signature OLEDs every few years at CES, and this year was no different. The new Signature OLED M breaks the mould as its top features aren’t just limited to the display. The Signature OLED M has a “Zero Connect” box that sends video and audio signals to the TV. This box only needs to be placed up to 30 feet away from the TV itself for it to work. This makes it the “world’s first wireless OLED TV.”

Signature OLED M LG Signature OLED TV specifications

The TV comes with three HDMI ports. All three of these are capable of 4K visuals at 120Hz. The TV also has a pill-shaped antenna that can be spun around for the best wireless performance.

“To ensure the seamless transfer of data from the box to the TV, the company developed an algorithm that instantly identifies the optimal transmission path,” LG said in its press release. “The algorithm also helps to minimize transmission errors or disruptions as it can recognize changes in the immediate environment — such as people or pets moving around the room — and switch paths accordingly.”

LG OLED TV Why is this product even needed?

One of the main benefits of the product is that it can simplify cable management. It can be a great option for people who do not like having cables all over the place and want a neat aesthetic in their home. The LG Signature OLED TV is likely to be more expensive than the brand’s largest 8K offering, however, there is no indication of the price yet.
