Alleged Samsung Galaxy M53 5G specs and design have leaked
Galaxy M53 5G could be one of the upcoming smartphones in Samsung’s pipeline. In the first quarter of 2022, the brand has released several Galaxy A-series and Galaxy M-series phones. Just a few days from now, on April 2, the Galaxy M33 5G is launching in India. Although the M53 5G was rumoured to launch alongside this phone in Vietnam on March 27, that didn’t happen. Still, the newly leaked renders of Galaxy M53 5G (from ytechb) make us believe that such a device exists, that is if the images are authentic.
So, with a pinch of salt, here we share its ostensible details scoured from leaks and rumours so far.
Samsung Galaxy M53 5G Specs and Features (Expected)Alleged Galaxy M53 5G render | Leak Source: ytechb
Samsung may outfit the Galaxy M53 with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED with 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an Infinity-O cutout. Within this punch hole, there may be a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The rear cameras may be led by a 108MP main sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro module, and a 2MP depth shooter.
Galaxy M53 5G It's disappointing to see Samsung release it with the Dimensity 900, a processor that is 26% slower than the Snapdragon 778G inside last year's M52. The main camera will get an upgrade to 108mp but the Ultrawide & Macro cameras are all worse than before. pic.twitter.com/VaKgx8kVYR
— Anthony (@TheGalox_) March 22, 2022The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G processor could be a MediaTek Dimensity 900 coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The battery size is reportedly 5000 milliamps and the device could support a 25W charger.
All of these could come at a starting cost of VND 10.5 million, which is the rumoured price of Galaxy M53 5G in Vietnam. When that’s translated, the Indian price comes about to ₹34,834 even though actual pricing may differ.
That’s about all there’s to know at the moment.

YouTube Picture-in-Picture mode launched on iOS in the YouTube TV app
YouTube iOS users are finally getting picture-in-picture (PiP) mode. Good news!? Well, the iOS PiP feature is limited to the YouTube TV app and also only for US customers now. However, the feature is coming to all users, premium or otherwise in the regular YouTube app. Besides this, YouTube is also reportedly working on an emoji reactions feature.
Let’s unpack them one by one.
How YouTube PiP on iOS works: Here’s the update for iPhone and iPad usersYouTube Labs Page
YouTube PiP allows you to watch the video in a small scaled-down window that can be moved across the screen and you can view and interact with other things on the smartphone screen. Android phones have had this feature for a long time but a large portion of iPhone YouTube users are still awaiting it.
Picture-in-picture on iOS has been in testing for a while and YouTube premium subscribers could enable it in the app’s experimental settings. When you try out YouTube picture-in-picture mode on your iPhone, the videos you are watching could be opened in a mini-player and you continue using other apps on the device. Locking the screen would pause the video although you could resume by tapping the control menu available on the lockscreen.
The Twitter handle of YouTube TV announced:
iPhone & iPad users We’re happy to share that picture-in-picture is now rolling out to your iOS 15+ devices. Simply select a video to watch and swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to the device's homepage. The video can scale down and move across your screen.
— YouTube TV (@YouTubeTV) March 30, 2022What’s new is that both iPhone and iPad YouTube TV users in the US can now experience PiP. The requirement is that your device must be on iOS 15 or above software version.
Also, the real good news comes from The Verge which has got a statement from Google spokesperson Allison Toh saying that the company is “still testing picture-in-picture on iOS with Premium members and hope to make it available to all iOS users (Premium and non-Premium) in the US in the coming months.”
Meanwhile, the Google company is also experimenting on —
Timed YouTube Emoji Reactions: How it worksYouTube Timed Reactions
In a blog, Google reveals it is testing a new way to share an emoji reaction (like a smiley face, confetti, etc.) at an exact moment in a YouTube video. This is in similar veins to another feature that allowed users to post a comment on specific moments of the video they are watching. Both these goodies are in the beta phase and being rolled out to a small number of channels, to begin with.
Meaghan, Community Manager, TeamYouTube, said, “If you’re watching a video that is part of this experiment, you can react and see crowd reactions by opening the comment section of the video and tapping into the reaction panel. The test will also show you which moments other viewers are reacting to. We know community is important to you, so we’re committed to bringing you more features that strengthen the sense of community on YouTube”.

Oppo F21 Pro series launching in India on April 12 with Fiberglass-Leather design
Oppo has confirmed the launch date for the Oppo F21 Pro series to be April 12, 2022. We suspect there would be Oppo F21 Pro and Oppo F21 Pro Plus as well as their respective 4G and 5G variants. In its press release, the company hasn’t made this clear. Rather it teases the design and extols the various colour options you could get with the new phones. For starters, one of these is the F21 Pro Sunset Orange edition which boasts an industry-first fibreglass-leather design.

Oppo F21 Pro series Design, Specs, and Features (Expected)Oppo F21 Pro series teaser
Oppo smartphones are generally known for their looks and from the teasers, the F21 Pro phones won’t be any different. They appear to have squared-off edges and are said to come in a rather thin and light profile.
In the images shared, we are shown the phone’s orange colour model that wears the so-called “Fibreglass-Leather design”. This is lychee-grain leather which is billed as “waterproof and heavily wear-resistant”.
Meanwhile, the phone can be picked in a Cosmic Black colour with a glossier finish. Oppo says it is fingerprint- and stain-resistant.
The Oppo F21 Pro 5G, in particular, will come in two colour variants viz. Rainbow Spectrum and Cosmic Black.
Oppo Reno 7 4G expected to be Oppo F21 Pro in India
Now, as it looks a lot like the recently launched Oppo Reno 7 4G (in Indonesia), they could be both the same device, but in different names. If that’s the case, the Oppo F21 Pro specifications could include things like Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, 32MP selfie camera, a 64MP triple camera setup, and a 4500mAh battery with 33W charging support.
However, do take these speculations with a pinch of salt.

OnePlus 10R renders have leaked revealing Realme GT Neo 3-like design
OnePlus 10R is one of the forthcoming phones from the company. Even though we are still a whole month away from its rumoured launch in May, the leaks disclosing its design are already out. In a fresh report by 91Mobiles, the OnePlus 10R renders have been shared that gives us an idea of how the device looks and how it resembles the Realme GT Neo 3 5G.
OnePlus 10R Specs, Features, and What To ExpectOnePlus 10R renders
In the OnePlus 10R renders above, you see the phone’s punch-holed fascia and a triple camera fitted back panel. The lens arrangement is in an inverted V form thus drawing the Realme GT Neo 3 comparison. However, the position of the LED flashlight and the dimensions of the two camera islands seem different.
Although there may be other colours, here we only get to see a grey/black colour scheme.
That screen is speculated to be a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz E4 AMOLED with HDR10+ support. The front camera may be a 16MP sensor. As for the back cameras, there’s rumoured to be a 50MP main lens with OIS, an 8MP super-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro unit.
OnePlus 10R renders
As per the earlier leaked OnePlus 10R specifications, the handset will pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip inside with Android 12 based OxygenOS software laid on top. The device may come running on up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4500mAh battery backed by a high-speed 150W adapter.
There may also be a OnePlus 10R with 4500mAh and 80W charger support.
OnePlus seems to be ditching a 3.5mm jack and the alert slider from this phone. However, we can be sure only whence it’s officially confirmed. The 10R launch is likely in May. So, we may have to wait a bit for that. We also earlier reported that the OnePlus 10R has apparently entered the testing phase in India.

WhatsApp file transfers of up to 2GB in size available for some users
WhatsApp is getting an option to send files of up to 2GB in size according to WABetaInfo. This new feature may be something you find very useful as the current limit of 100MB is rather limiting. At times when you want to share a file or document over WhatsApp with your friend or somebody in your contacts, then this current limit forces you to try some other app. However, those other apps lack the convenience of WhatsApp or say the accessibility of contacts from any part of the world at your fingertips. You don’t require the other person to be in close proximity as the WhatsApp file transmission takes place over the internet.
How to send up to 2GB of files on WhatsAppWhatsApp 2GB file transfer feature | Source: WABetaInfo
Ensure your WhatsApp is up to date. At present, the 2GB file sharing is available on WhatsApp beta version 22.7.0.76 for iOS and beta v2.22.8.5 or later for Android. Also, note it is being rolled out to some WhatsApp users in Argentina only.
Check Apple App Store or Google Play Store and update the WhatsApp beta (if you have it) to the latest version.
Open WhatsApp Tap on the WhatsApp contact to whom you want to send the file or document. Hit the Plus icon (on iOS) or Pin icon (on Android). From the menu that pops up, choose the Document option. A built-in file manager would appear and from it select the file which could be a document or something else. Tap on Send and the file will be sent to the contact. Here, you can choose file or multiple files of up to 2GB. If you are trying to send beyond that threshold, then you will see the “This document is too large. You can send documents up to 2GB in size,” message.
Soon, this update may roll out to India and other markets, initially through beta channels but eventually via Stable releases too. So you may have to wait a bit to try this new WhatsApp feature.

Oppo Find X5 Pro Review: Hello good looking
Oppo Find X5 Pro with its MariSilicon X NPU looks like an interesting phone and is definitely a step in the right direction for Oppo. It is a flagship in the truest form, and can easily take on the might of the iPhones and Galaxy S22 Ultras of the world. Sadly, it won't be able to do so in India as Oppo has no plans to launch the device in the country any time soon.
Building on the success of the Find X3 Pro, Oppo recently launched the Find X5 Pro in select markets across the globe -- India, unfortunately, isn't part of the list. As the company's latest flagship, the Find X5 Pro comes with a host of interesting features, including support for 150W super-fast charging and more. But that's not where the device stops showing off. It also hides beneath the surface of Oppo's new MariSilicon X (NPU) which Oppo claims helps drastically improve the low light performance of the Find X5 Pro's camera system. But, does it actually do so? Well, let's find out in our review of the Oppo Find X5 Pro.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: Design and displayMake no mistake, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is more than just a thing of beauty. In fact, it looks more like a thing of luxury. One glance at it, and I was sure this makes the list of one of the most beautifully designed smartphones I've tested to date. This is mostly down to the fact that Oppo's designed this phone to be a looker, and that's something clear the moment you set your eyes on the device. It has an interesting curvy ceramic rear panel that houses a camera module that's again one of the best takes on a camera module design we've seen on a phone.
Unlike many of its competitors, the Find X5 Pro's design does not feel mechanical. Its curves and cuts feel very natural, and thanks to the polished back, the phone just looks and feels more expensive than it actually is. Another good design decision on Oppo's part is that they've kept things really clean and minimalistic with the Find X5 Pro's design. As such, the back panel only features the finely machined camera module and in addition to it, just the Oppo and Hasselblad branding.
This back panel melts into the phone's metallic frame, which in turn, melts into the Find X5 Pro's front display. This is a beautiful 6.7-inch 120hz panel with support for 240hz touch sampling rate. In our tests, we found the display going slightly over 1000 nits in high brightness mode. However, Oppo claims the panel can touch 1300 nits while displaying HDR content. In our tests, we found the Find X5 Pro's display to be quite colour accurate in the Natural preset. However, when set to the Vivid profile which is tasked to cover the wider DCI-P3 colour gamut, the colour accuracy of the display does go for a toss.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: PerformanceUnderneath the hood, the Oppo Find X5 Pro+ hides a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor that is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. This is a configuration we've recently seen on a few other flagship phones as well. And much like them, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip remains a mixed bag on the Find X5 Pro as well.
The chipset does not hit stable peaks and instead, its performance in the CPU Throttling test remained all over the place, as the chip creates some level of extra heat. The performance was nothing to be alarmed about, but the phone did drop to about 85 per cent of its performance during the test. While it's true that the Find X5 Pro offers powerful performance, along with an overall enjoyable gaming experience thanks to its rich feature set, it does not manage to do it consistently across the board for all games or for that matter benchmarks.
For example, while gaming, the Find X5 Pro handled demanding titles like Call of Duty 5 and Asphalt 9 Legends relatively well, but did show signs of frame dips during a session of Genshin Impact. Unlike the first two titles, the phone did not display consistent performance, with frame rates dropping in between.
The benchmark results of the Find X5 Pro were also nothing to get too excited about, with the throwing up lower scores than phones we've tested in the past in some of the benchmarks. In both AnTuTu, Geekbench and 3DMark WildLife scores, the performance was not as we had expected, while the results in some others were even worse than phones such as the ROG Phone 5s which is powered by last year's Snapdragon 888+ SoC. On the Find X5 Pro, the issue appears to be poor thermal management, with the phone also getting a little hot after a long gaming session or even during benchmark testing.
This thermal performance did have an impact on the battery performance of the device, with the phone losing charge really quickly once it got a little hot. But when running at manageable temperatures, the phone did offer good performance in the battery department. At the heart of this performance is the Find X5 Pro's big 5,000mAh pack, which on moderate use offers good standby and screen-on time. We got about two days of use from the phone when we used the phone moderately, with increasing gaming on the device being the only thing bringing down the battery of the phone drastically. However, it is to be noted that during our test, we set the phone to run on FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, instead of maxing it out at QHD+ resolution.
But one of the phone's biggest strengths only comes into play when the battery levels on the Find X5 Pro dip. Yes, we're talking about the support for 150W SuperVOOC fast charging. When charged in ideal conditions, this new charging technology filled up our Find X5 Pro to about 50 per cent in about 13 minutes and about 100 per cent in 32 minutes. These are impressive numbers, but when compared to what devices like the OnePlus 9 Pro or the yet-to-be-launched OnePlus 10 Pro do, the gains do not look as substantial.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: CameraMoving on to the camera performance of the Oppo Find X5 Pro, the device comes with a 50-megapixel primary lens with support for a five-axis optical image stabilisation system. There's also another 50-megapixel lens, but this one is used as a wide-angle camera. Last, but not least, there's a 13-megapixel telephoto lens as well which can click up to 2x optically zoomed photos.
This hardware is backed by Oppo's MariSilicon X Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which paired with the colour tuning algorithm by Hasselblad promises to improve colour balance and overall results in low light scenarios. The reality, however, is a little detached from Oppo's claims.
Yes, it's true the camera system on the Find X5 Pro can click really good shots when fed with enough natural light. However, the low light performance of the device is not comparable to the results achieved by the likes of the iPhone 13 Pro, or for the matter the Galaxy S22 Ultra. But that's not to say the performance in the low light scenarios on the Find X5 Pro is bad. All we're saying is the performance could have been better.
The ultra-wide lens on the Find X5 Pro is quite impressive, with the lens clicking shots with plenty of details in them. But overall, shots from this lens come out fine in daytime conditions, with low-light images leaving a little to be desired. The telephoto lens on the device is our least favourite one from the set-up. But, that's not a consequence of the poor performance of the lens. Rather, it's because of just how little usability telephoto lenses offer in general.
Oppo Find X5 Pro: VerdictFirst things first, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is not available for purchase in India and at the moment Oppo has no plans of launching it in the country as well. As such, this verdict is not going to be buying advice, and the scope of this verdict will be limited to giving you an idea of why the Find X5 Pro is good and it's not good.
To begin with, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a gorgeous phone, one that could arguably pass off as the best-looking phone to have launched in the recent past. In fact, it's such a well-designed phone, that its looks alone can be a reason to buy the Find X5 Pro. Then, there's the fact that it offers really fast 150W fast charging and also hides beneath the surface flagship-grade hardware in the form of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The cameras on the phone are also positive, with the Find X5 Pro generally clicking really impressive shots using its primary lens. And did I forget about the display? Yes, to complete the package the Find X5 Pro also has one of the most colour accurate panels on a phone right now.
But for all that's good about the Find X5 Pro, we also get a phone that's a little heavy to hold and is also slippery at the same time. Its ColorOS 12 based software is also not the easiest to use and as we found out in our review, the phone does have a tendency of heating up a little when tasked to run heavy-duty applications.
Nonetheless, the Oppo Find X5 Pro with its MariSilicon X NPU still looks like a step in the right direction. It is a flagship in the truest form, and can easily take on the might of the iPhones and Galaxy S22 Ultras of the world. Sadly, it won't be able to do so in India as Oppo has no plans to launch the device in the country any time soon.

Google Pixel 6a will reportedly launch in most markets on July 28
Google Pixel 6a is slated to go official at Google I/O 2022 event to be held online on May 11 and 12. A new report from reliable tipster Jon Prosser claims that the phone will be available in several regions starting July 28. According to leaks that have surfaced so far, the Pixel 6a shares the same design as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro and will be powered by the same Tensor chipset that’s heavily focused on machine learning prowess.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know if the Pixel 6a will launch in India or not. The last Google phone to arrive in the country was the Pixel 4a in 2020 - which is like decades ago in smartphone years.
Google I/O '22 From what I understand, Google will officially be announcing the Pixel 6a + "teasing" the Pixel Watch. Pixel 6a launch (in most markets) pushed to July 28th. Pixel Watch will be formally announced and launched with Pixel 7 and 7 Pro in October. pic.twitter.com/IwwRX2pZtR
— Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) March 24, 2022 Google Pixel 6a specifications and features (rumoured)From what we know so far, the Pixel 6a will sport a 6.2-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It’ll obviously run the latest Android 12 software at launch and should be first in line for software updates at least for the next 2 years. The Tensor SoC at the heart of the phone will allegedly be backed by 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Although, a lower 6GB RAM variant of the phone was also spotted on Geekbench recently.
The Pixel 6a will reportedly house a 4800mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
The camera should be the exciting highlight of the 6a. The word on the street is that Google will include a dual-camera system including a 12.2MP (f/1.7) Sony IMX363 primary sensor and a 12MP (f/2.2) Sony IMX355 sensor with an ultrawide lens.
Expected connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C charging port, and NFC.
Apart from the Pixel 6a, Google is also likely to talk more about Android 13 software, new WearOS and an upcoming Pixel Watch for Android users (fingers crossed) at the upcoming Google I/O event.
Google Pixel 6a expected priceThe Google Pixel 6a is expected to retail in three colours - Black, White, and Green. It’s expected to go official for $350 in the US. If Google decides to launch the Pixel 6a in India, we expect the price will be somewhere close to iPhone SE after factoring in the additional import duties and taxes.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC launch could take place in May
Qualcomm may launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ in May which is a bit earlier than usual. The Plus variants of previous generation Snapdragon SoCs had come in the June, July months. Well, it is not just the timing of the launch, but the new 8 Gen 1 Plus edition would also reportedly switch to a TSMC 4nm process replaced with Samsung’s fab. The report comes from tipster Yogesh Brar (via Onsitego) who tweets, “So Qualcomm SM8475 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus) will be announced in early May. Will be based on TSMC's 4nm platform with a number of improvements. But that not it, Qualcomm has some other chips as well for the mid & upper mid-range segment.”
Here are the details —
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus: What we know so farTSMC 5nm wafer design for reference
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is said to have an SM8475 model number, while if you recall, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 had an SM8450 model number.
The new processor may use ARM’s 4nm architecture and for fabbing the same, Qualcomm is reportedly partnering with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
TSMC’s 4nm process node is considered more power-efficient than the alternative from Samsung. The current-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (made by Samsung) had got some flak for its heating and throttling issues. Meanwhile, the competitors had relied on TSMC with largely better results.
This could be the reason behind this alleged transition. At least the talk on the street is so.
Anyways, as per this new report, we may get to see the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus in May and it predicts the chip to come within high-end phones from Xiaomi, OnePlus, Lenovo, and Motorola, Although not mentioned, you could expect the usual suspects like Samsung, Asus, Vivo, Realme, etc too.
Even the mid-range chips from the Snapdragon 7-series may be announced this time.

Apple Subscription Service for iPhones and iPads could arrive in 2022
Apple may come up with a new subscription system for buying iPhones and iPads. According to a fresh report from Bloomberg, the iPhone maker is working on a hardware subscription service that lets you buy not just iPhones but iPads too in monthly payments. So, if you felt that iPhone or iPad you wanted to be a bit pricey for your pocket, then, soon, you would be able to subscribe to the device as you do with the apps.
However, would you want a monthly iPhone subscription service? Well, you may be able to answer that properly once all details about the Apple hardware subscription service are here. For now, let’s piece together the information we have.
Apple subscription service for hardware: Everything we know
Although this could be applicable to other hardware products in the Apple ecosystem, at present the Bloomberg report mentions of iPhone subscription service and iPad subscription service only.
The plan seems to be to create a subscription payment model like with the brand’s iCloud, Apple Music, and other services. You’d be using the same Apple ID and App Store account you currently use to subscribe to these apps.
Now, if you were thinking of this as an installment system, the report suggests it’s not. This wouldn’t involve splitting the total iPad or iPhone price into 12 or 24 months. Instead, you would be paying a monthly fee based on your chosen device, although the nitty-gritty calculations of it are still to be determined.
Anyways, making the proposition a little more exciting is the chances of there being an upgrade program tied to this subscription service. That is once the new batch of iPhones or iPads hit the stores every year, you may be allowed to upgrade to those. Also, there are rumors of other Apple services like AppleCare or Apple One offered with this.
“The service would be Apple’s biggest push yet into automatically recurring sales, allowing users to subscribe to hardware for the first time — rather than just digital services. But the project is still in development, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the initiative hasn’t been announced,” notes the Bloomberg report.
If Cupertino decides to go ahead with the idea, we may see the Apple iPhone subscription service launch in late 2022 or early 2023.

Instagram chronological feed finally returns: Heres how you can view most recent posts
Meta finally gives us what we wished for. The social giant has introduced the Chronological feed on Instagram. Well, Instagram once had this feature but then its parent company Facebook (now Meta) decided to switch the default Instagram feed to an algorithmic view. Since then, many wanted the company to bring back the feature and now it has. This new chronological Instagram view is called Following and although it presents the most recent posts from the people you follow, there’s no way to set it as the default view when you open the app.
Besides the Following View, you also get the Favourites option that displays only the people you choose. These could be your friends, family, celebrity crushes, preferred content creators, etc.
Anyway, here’s how to access the Favorites and Following Instagram feeds:
How to view the chronological Instagram feedInstagram Following and Favourites
First of all, ensure you have the latest Instagram app on Android or iOS. Open the Instagram app and stay on its home screen. Tap on the Instagram text at the top left corner. You will see two options — Following and Favourites Choose Following to see the most recent Instagram posts. That’s it and now you can scroll over and heart the latest post from the people or pages you follow like good old days.
Next up, let’s check out what Favourites on Instagram mean.
How the Instagram Favourites workAdd Instagram Favourites
Clicking on the Favourites option shows the most recent posts from the chosen few people. The first time you tap on Favourites, you will get the option to Add Favourites. At present, you can add 50 accounts to this list. You can also add or remove the people as you please and those who have been added/removed won’t be notified about the same. These favoured accounts will show up higher on your feed with a star icon.
We think this Instagram update would be welcomed back by many and we would love to have more such features on the app in the future.
