This addition will allow commuters to receive their tickets with a QR code for scanning at the gate directly in their WhatsApp. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation stated, “Further enhancing the travel experience for its commuters in an easy-to-navigate digital mode, Delhi Metro today introduced a WhatsApp-based ticketing service for travel on its Airport Express Line.”

It is a WhatsApp chatbot that allows commuters of the Delhi Metro Airport Line to get their tickets on WhatsApp. This would be really useful and time saving for daily commuters as they don't have to wait in the line and get their ticket, which also means no long queues.

Appropriately enough, Krafton has announced its launch party tournament and has named it BGMI Rising. The event begins tomorrow viz. June 1, 2023 and will go on for four days until June 4, 2023.

BGMI is now playable after the hassle people were going through last week and have rolled out the 2.5 update which will provide an immersive experience for all its players. Users will be allowed to login in phases in order to have a seamless experience and that is how they have worked on the game's playability.

For safeguarding the players and assuring responsible gaming, Krafton has also set out some ground rules for BGMI. Krafton has made it clear that for people below 18 years of age, the gametime will be three hours a day and for others it will be max six hours a day. They didn't stop there. A parental verification will be done as well as daily spend limits will be given for the minors.

Now, except for the rules, Krafton has also introduced a new map to the game. That map itself is brand new and also brings in a lot of features with it.

New Map = More BGMI fun

This is the smallest map in the history of BGMI. This is a resort island located in a completely tropical zone. Here the matches will last for up to eight minutes. There are some major features related to the map. They are as follows:

Mechanism: The most fun feature included are the Ziplines. Players can go around the island using them and also they can install elevators in the hotel buildings in "New City." Other unique new things are Zorb balls, swimming pools, destructible jars and combustible buildings.

Super recall: This feature allows you to recall the players who die back to the battlefield. But they can come back only within a certain period of their death. Also, this can be done in duo as well as squad mode. In case of solo mode, the player can be recalled automatically without the help of any teammate.

New Weapons: The new weapon in a Tactical Crossbow. With the help of this a zipline can be restored and also houses can be put on fire by using a fire arrow on the crossbow. At mid and close range players can have a very accurate shot. When you scope in, the mode changes to single shot.

New Vehicle- Off-road ATV that too a two-seater one has been introduced. It is lightweight and has an amazing speed. This allows the ATV to go smooth when it's a curved path and also maintain the stability and not get rolled over.

These will all be available at the launch party. Pull up your socks and get set for it as it starts tomorrow.

Google Pixel Watch 2 will help you manage your stress better: Check expected price

The rumours of Pixel Watch 2's announcement with Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro was confirmed earlier this month. Now a report by 9to5Google has given some clarity as to what we can expect from the watch and how it is going to be different from its predecessor.

Let's have a look at everything the Pixel Watch 2 has to offer.

Also Read: Google Pixel Watch 2 may arrive in different sizes: 3 things we know about it

Stress sensor in Pixel Watch 2

We have gathered from the report that the Pixel Watch 2 can feature the same sensors as the Fitbit 2’s health sensors.

The continuous electrodermal activity (cEDA) sensor which tracks the day’s stress and helps manage it and the skin temperature sensor are some of the major features that are expected to feature in the Pixel Watch 2.

Chip upgrade in the Pixel Watch 2

From the report we come to know that the Pixel Watch 2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset from the latest “W5” generation. We aren’t really sure about what changes or customisations the chipset would bring in for the new Google wearable.

Google has always used the Samsung Exynos for its watches, so the sudden shift came as a shock. It was expected that for Pixel Watch 2, Google will be relying on 5nm W920 which has been used in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and 5.

Also read: Pixel Fold, Pixel 8 Pro renders reveal major design details of the two Google phones

The change in chipset of the wearable can also lead to change in the chipset of future Pixel phones. But, it's too early to speculate anything as of now and we should wait to experience the changes once the watch is out.

Battery changes in Pixel Watch 2

Google is aiming towards a better battery life for the Pixel watch 2. As mentioned in the report, they are looking forward to over a day’s usage while the AOD is enabled.

But apart from that, people can also look forward to a better life by making some changes in the settings and taking precautions for power conservation.

Pixel Watch 2

Expected price of Pixel Watch 2

From everything we can gather online, the Pixel Watch 2 should be priced around the ₹30,000 price mark, might get priced a bit cheaper as well if Google wants to undercut the competition from Apple and Samsung in a big way.

These are the expected major upgrades that are likely to feature on the Google Pixel Watch 2 and as previous rumours have stated, this would be launched alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro later this year.

Apple WWDC AR teaser hints at the Reality Pro announcement: Heres how to try it

Apple has released an AR teaser for WWDC 2023. The teaser shows an AR version of the Apple Logo with “June 5, 2023” text. This is when the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is set to take place. The event time is 10:30 PM IST. You can stream it on apple.com, possibly Apple’s YouTube channel, and on the Apple TV app. These details are mentioned on the Apple Events page wherein the AR teaser is present. Let’s go through the steps to try it out.

How to experience the WWDC AR teaser

WWDC AR

1. Visit the Apple events page on your iPhone or iPad. You will see a colourful Apple logo.

2. Tap the logo or click on the hyperlinked text: View the AR experience.

Either way, the camera viewfinder opens up with the Apple logo in AR view. You will be instructed to “Move iPhone to start”. With the iPhone’s movement, the logo takes shape and if done right, you will see the WWDC date within the Apple logo’s silhouette.

The outline doesn’t stay intact and will be in constant motion so you won’t get a proper snapshot of the full logo with the text in place.

Now, there is also an Object view of the logo wherein you don’t have to do anything. The fluid Apple logo and the date text appear automatically on a grey background. Since this is also dynamic by design, it won’t stay intact for long.

The liquidy teaser solidifies the expectation of Apple’s AR/VR/MR headset at WWDC.

Apple Reality Pro: What we know so far

Apple Reality Pro headset is said to consist of two micro-OLED displays stretching 1.41 inches diagonally. Each of these could also sport 5000 nits of peak brightness, 4K resolution, 120° FoV, and 4,000 PPI pixel density. It could also support HDR visuals.

Besides the inner displays, there will be a regular OLED cover screen sourced from LG. They will be translucent for others to see the wearer’s facial expressions. It will supposedly have a fairly lower refresh rate to ensure lesser power consumption.

The displays are supposedly procured from Sony and could cost about $1500 while the entire unit could be priced at around $3,000.

The Reality Pro is expected to be compatible with prescription lenses. The rumours are that it could also feature about 2 hours of battery life, with external battery support, 96W charging tech, a proprietary charging cable, USB-C socket, around 15 cameras (for projecting see-through AR representation of the world, environmental awareness, and novel biometric solution), iris scanning for secure sign in and payment authorization,

On the software and connectivity front, we are expecting what’s being rumoured as xrOS. It is believed to be akin to iOS in some respects for familiarity reasons and could bring certain iOS apps onboard. Besides, you could be getting lifelike avatars, hand/air gestures for interaction/inputs, Fitness+ workout modes (with trainers, we suppose), etc,

Powering all of these are apparently two Mac-level M2 chips.

Party trick up its sleeve Review

The Oppo F23 5G is not a smartphone that we can recommend for a ₹24,999 price tag, since there are a lot of better options available in the same range. However, if you are not concerned about performance or camera, and want something that offers you a good party trick, then the Oppo F23 5G is a good option.

The mid-range Android segment is one of the most competitive in the Indian market. With smartphones that are touching flagship territory in terms of performance and features, the mid-range buyer these days is spoilt for choice amid so many options to pick from. Now, there are several brands that have a strong foothold in this market. For example, Xiaomi, iQOO, Realme, OnePlus, and even Samsung are some of the most popular brands in the sub-Rs 30,000 or sub-Rs 25,000 price bracket. Then, there are brands like Infinix, Tecno, and the likes that don’t share the same level of popularity.

Oppo is a brand that comes in the former category, but the company hasn’t really made too much noise in the mid-range segment, despite being a prominent player in the market. While Oppo doesn’t offer the most high-performance devices in the segment, the company’s focus is more on the overall look and feel and unique features that intrigue a lot of people. The company’s latest mid-ranger, the Oppo F23 5G also comes with a similar aim in mind. I tested the Oppo F23 5G here at Digit’s test lab in Noida for a couple of weeks, and here is what I think about this smartphone:

Oppo F23 5G: Design

Design-wise, the Oppo F23 5G is very similar to its smaller cousin, the Oppo A78 5G that was launched earlier this year. We get a polycarbonate back panel with an oval-shaped camera module. We also get a glossy strip running down from the camera module, which adds a bit of contrast to the back panel design. The polycarbonate back panel, however, doesn’t feel very sturdy and the in-hand feel isn’t very premium. We get two colours with the Oppo F23 5G - a cool black and a bold gold colour, both with a similar-coloured gloss strip running down from the camera module.

Up front, things are rather simple. We get a hole punch display with thin bezels, but the chin is a bit thick. The Oppo F23 5G has flat edges, but the back panel curves around the edges. The display also doesn’t merge into the frame as seamlessly as I would have liked, but that is a very minor design detail. Apart from this, the Oppo F23 5G is quite lightweight. We measured the weight of the smartphone and it came out to be 192 grams, which is exactly what Oppo claims with the smartphone.

Overall, the Oppo F23 5G’s design is very basic. It's lightweight and looks quite nice with the two-tone gloss strip, but the build quality is not very good. We get a 6.7-inch display, so the size is big, but not too unbearable. The orientation is more on the tall side rather than wide, and the front is also pretty basic with the hole-punch display, which is something we see on pretty much every smartphone in this range.

Oppo F23 5G: Display

The Oppo F23 5G has a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display on the smartphone is just average. We get an IPS LCD display, and the colours seem a bit too saturated. While watching content on YouTube, I found the Oppo F23 5G’s display to have a bit too many highlights, which is not too good. It also doesn’t support HDR content on apps like YouTube and Netflix.

In terms of responsiveness, however, this display is pretty good. We get a 120Hz refresh rate, which just makes scrolling through the menus and other things on this device absolutely slick and smooth. The display is also bright enough. We put the luminance to test using a Lux Meter, and the Oppo F23 5G showed a maximum luminance of 576 nits, and a minimum of 6 nits on a plain white screen. This is not too bad, and I didn’t face any problems with the smartphone’s sunlight visibility.

Oppo F23 5G: Performance

Coming to performance, the Oppo F23 5G has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. Now, this smartphone is priced at Rs 24,999 in India, and for that money, a Snapdragon 695 chip isn’t really considered worth it. For example, you can get the same chip on smartphones under Rs 20,000 easily. Further, smartphones in this range offer far more powerful processors.

We did test these numbers, and the benchmark scores are pretty average. On AnTuTu, the Oppo F23 5G scored 412,540 points, which is good for a smartphone overall, but not for a mid-range device priced around ₹25,000. There are similar-priced products in the market that offer almost double the score, so this feels a bit low for the Oppo F23 5G. On Geekbench also, the scores are just average. The Oppo F23 5G gave us a pretty decent single-core score of 899 points, while on the multi-core front, the Oppo F23 5G was again behind most rivals with a score of 2080 points. In another CPU-based benchmark, the Oppo F23 5G lagged behind many rivals. For example, in the PC Mark Work 3.0 benchmark, the Oppo F23 5G scored 9,720 points. This score, however, is close to what many rivals put out.

Coming to GPU-based tests, here also the Oppo F23 5G didn’t show anything impressive. In the 3D Mark Wildlife test, the Oppo F23 5G scored 1,211 points, which is way less than some of the other devices in this range were able to put out.

The storage used on the Oppo F23 5G is of UFS 2.2 standard. Now, this is not the latest storage standard, even in this range and the numbers show. The read and write speeds are similar to other smartphones that use UFS 2.2, but since this is an older storage standard, it falls behind the ones that use UFS 3.1 or above.

Oppo F23 5G: Battery

The battery on the Oppo F23 5G is a 5,000mAh unit with support for 67W fast charging. Now, the smartphone uses a 6nm chip and so the battery consumption is not all that bad. Over and above, we get 67W fast charging which takes just over 45 minutes or something to charge from 0 to 100. The battery backup on the Oppo F23 5G is great. We played games, watched videos, used the camera, GPS, and pretty much everything to test the battery drain, and the smartphone’s battery backup was impressive throughout. For example, a 15-minute Call of Duty: Mobile session only drained 4 percent of the smartphone’s battery and 30 minutes of watching videos on YouTube on the highest resolution and full brightness also drained only 4 percent of the battery.

Oppo F23 5G: Camera

Coming to the camera, there are a lot of things going on in the Oppo F23 5G. For starters, we get a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary shooter, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel microscope shooter. This third 2-megapixel microscope shooter is probably the coolest feature on the Oppo F23 5G. What it does is convert your Oppo F23 5G into a handheld microscope. The results from this look straight out of a microscope. During my time with the Oppo F23 5G, I clicked several things like leafs, leather, metal, wood, and even human skin. Every time, the camera showed details that are just not visible with a naked eye.

Apart from the microscope camera, the Oppo F23 5G’s primary camera performs pretty well. The 64-megapixel sensor takes nice and sharp photos, and even focuses on the subject nicely, in order to give it a nice depth effect. In challenging light, the images are a bit grainy and lack detail, but that is managed well by turning on the night mode, where the camera takes in light from the closest sources, in order to make for a vibrant image.

We also get a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portraits. The portraits also aren’t great. The smartphone smoothens the skins a bit too much, and the details are also not the best. Further, I found the colours to be a bit dull in portraits and the edge detection is also not the best we have seen. At times, the Oppo F23 5G messed up with detecting the edge.

The front camera on the Oppo F23 5G is good. The images are crisp, sharp and vibrant in terms of the colour profile.

Oppo F23 5G: Verdict

So that was our review of the Oppo F23 5G. It is a pretty basic Android device, but comes with some interesting features like the microscope camera. We get a basic build with a polycarbonate back, a hole-punch display up front, and flat edges. The camera is also not all that great, and we get very basic performance, which a sub-Rs 20,000 smartphones can easily put out.

Overall, it is not a smartphone that I can recommend for a ₹24,999 price tag since there are a lot of better options available in the same range. However, if you are not concerned about performance or camera, and want something that offers you a good party trick, then the Oppo F23 5G is a good option

OnePlus Limited Edition Phone History

The journey of limited editions for OnePlus started when the OnePlus 5T flagship series was launched. The company had skipped the numerical 4 for its series and had everyone wondering the superstition behind it. However, with the same series the brand started their first limited edition phone. Let’s walk through OnePlus’ journey from OnePlus 5T to OnePlus 11.

OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition

The OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition was the first of its OnePlus x Pop-culture collab limited edition and the first ever limited edition by the brand. The smartphone was released for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the brand even changed its tagline from ‘Never Settle’ to ‘Strong Enough to Rule the Galaxy’. There were two models in the edition depicting a metaphorical comment on the dark and light side. Hence, there was a white and a black cell phone with the Star Wars logo at the centre-bottom. The limited edition box came with a Kylo Ren phone case too.

OnePlus 11

OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Edition

Similar to the OnePlus 5T: Star Wars Edition, the OnePlus 6: Marvel Avengers Limited Edition was announced during the time when Infinity War was in the theatre and the audience globally was fascinated by the franchise.

OnePlus partnered with the studios and crafted a Marvel Avengers edition which had a golden accent as the power button and the Avengers' logo on the centre-bottom alongside the phone box came with an Ironman black case.

OnePlus 11

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition

Through this model, the brand was collabing with the British automobile giant McLaren for their McLaren MCL33, which was the company’s 2018 Formula One challenger. The model saw the design flaunting McLaren’s quintessential ‘Papaya Orange’ band at the end of the phone’s design with a similar black mirror case as that of the OnePlus 6.

OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren Edition

This limited edition model helped the brand become global as the brand entered the US market with the OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren Edition. The model was similar to that of 6T however, the capsule camera design with a Papaya Orange rim created an impact with the glossy black back with the edge shining in McLaren colour.

OnePlus 11

OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition

This model was released in collaboration with the popular RPG game Cyberpunk 2077 and it was the first time the brand was collaborating with a gaming brand.

 OnePlus 11

OnePlus 9 Pro Flash Silver Limited Edition

The OnePlus 9 Pro Flash Silver Limited Edition was designed in collaboration with the famous Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama. OnePlus 11

OnePlus 10T Marvel Edition

New Android contact sync policy could affect you, but theres a simple fix

Google has changed the Android contact sync policy which could prove critical for you, especially if you aren’t aware of it. It changes the way Android used to handle your backed-up contacts on the cloud. Your Android contacts will disappear from your phone if you don’t pay heed.

Here’s what has changed:

New Android contacts sync policy

Earlier when you sign in to your Android device with your Google account, the contacts backed up to that account get automatically synced to the new device. All your entries in the Google Contacts appear in the contacts list on the new phone. Also even if you don’t have contacts sync enabled, the contacts would still appear on the device.

That has changed.

As per the recent May 2023 Google Play System changelog, "Turning off Google Contacts sync will now remove the previously synced contacts from your Android phone."

This will be in effect on all Android phones with the Google Play Services v23.20 update.

Now, by removal, Google means the contacts will vanish from the device, not from the cloud. So, as long as you have them in contacts.google.com, you need not worry as you can turn on Google Contacts sync on the device and the list gets populated quickly. Easy peasy!

However, technically adept regular folks, say your parents or elderly member in your family may not know how to turn on Google Contacts Sync if they ever accidentally toggle it off. When they see the contacts list has gone empty, they may panic.

So, here’s what you got to do to save your online backed-up contacts:

Google

1. Go to Settings on your Android phone.

2. Then within Passwords & Accounts (Or simply Accounts in some devices), click on your Google account and then Account Sync.

3. You will see a list of things being synced or that can be synced to your Google account. Ensure the Contacts option is enabled or that the toggle next to it is turned on.

This will bring back your contacts on the device. That’s all.

Applying for job Never send CV generated by ChatGPT, heres why

ChatGPT being the new 'it' thing, everyone is utilising the chatbot for various tasks. Especially students, as they have been utilising ChatGPT in every way possible, be it their assignments or their CV. But the question is, are these getting accepted at the professional level?

Batch of 2023, who are now walking into the professional field after leaving the comfort of educational institutions, are caught in a bit of pickle. Should they exaggerate their achievements through the powers of ChatGPT by putting together an outstanding CV to help them stand out in the job market?

Also read: ChatGPT rivals Bard even more with its new features

I can’t say this for all students, but at least my friends from college who’re passing out this year have been working on enhancing their CV with ChatGPT. But as it is being sent over to companies for evaluation, it is turning out to be a deal breaker.

HR managers say it’s very easy after years of experience to know if something is genuine or not. Also, these AI bots at times will give two people similar answers, which too makes it easy for the professionals to rule such people out.

Chat GPT

Job seekers who use generative AI should be careful, however: 39 percent of HR professionals said the use of AI tech during hiring is a dealbreaker.

iCMIS Chief Technology Officer Al Smith commented "Generative AI bots (like ChatGPT) have the potential to help both candidates and employers be more productive and communicate better." He further said that, "From resumes and job descriptions to offer letters and onboarding material, the technology offers employers and recruiters a better starting point as they move through the hiring journey."

Definitely the technology is going far and beyond, but the point is how beneficial it is if you can’t crack the deal. Exploring and using new tools is definitely interesting but knowing their boundaries is also super critical for everyone to understand, least of all students who have dreams of landing their favourite job – hopefully they are tempering their enthusiasm with ChatGPT when writing their CVs.

Digit Back to School Guide - List of best deals and discounts for students

Student discounts are one of the best perks you can get if your college issues an official email ID along with an ID card. Everything from hardware to software can be obtained at a discount if you are a student. Heck, even Spotify offers a student discount in India. While the opinions on this matter are still divided, with some suggesting that these discounts are nothing but a way for brands to secure future customers.

But hey, if you are getting some sweet deals on your next laptop or a discounted subscription to arguably one of the best music streaming services, who cares? After you are done using the service or have bought the thing that you wanted, you will have a fair idea of what the brand has to offer. So you will know what they bring to the table, and if it is related to tech and you are not able to figure it out, then you know whom to reach out to. Now, without wasting your time or mine, let’s dive into the world of student discounts and have a look at all the deals and offers that you can grab using just your ID card and email.

Spotify

If you are a student with a valid ID card/email ID granted by your institution, then you can easily get your hands on a subsidised subscription to Spotify. Spotify’s student plan in India costs ₹59/month. These charges are deducted from your account after you finish your first month of premium subscription, which is free. At max, you can get Spotify Premium for four years, after which you will no longer be eligible to get the service at a discounted rate, and you will either need to opt out of Premium or continue with a regular plan.

UNiDAYS

One of the most popular services used by brands across the world for student status verification is UNiDAYS. Thanks to the wide variety of clients that they have under their belt, UNiDAYS also becomes a good starting point for students to step into the world of student discounts. By verifying that you are a student, UNiDAYS opens the gates to discounts from brands like Apple, Samsung, Gaana, Saavn, and even fashion and apparel brands like H&M and Birkenstock. The signup process is super easy, and all you need is an active student ID administered by your institution. If you don’t have that, then you can also upload images of your ID card that has been issued by the institute that you are studying at, and you are set.

A single UNiDAYS verification will open you to getting the following discounts (only tech hardware discounts listed here, for more, visit UNiDAYS) -

Unidays

Microsoft

One of the biggest tech brands in the world, Microsoft, also has a lot of discounts on offer for students. A limited selection of Surface products is available at a discounted price, not only for students but also parents and educators. And, if you are lucky and your college offers you email powered by Outlook, then you can also get access to various Microsoft Office 365 as well. All you will need to do is sign in using your Microsoft account when using those services, and you should be able to use them without needing to pay anything to Mr Gates or his organisation.

Airlines

Airlines are one of the places where you can save the most money using your student ID. Most airlines these days, be they domestic or international carriers, offer tons of benefits to students, be it in terms of fare discounts or baggage allowance. Domestic carriers generally offer a 10 per cent discount on the fare and an additional allowance of 10 KG baggage, totalling the total allowance to 25 KG. For international carriers, it completely depends on the sector that you are flying and what policy the airline has in general. For example, in college, I was flying with Lufthansa and got an additional baggage allowance which included one whole extra bag, and along with that, there was a discount on the fare as well. However, keep in mind that you will need to produce a valid student ID card whenever you are checking in, despite the airline being domestic or international.

GitHub

GitHub also has a lot of benefits for students on offer. To get access to it, you will need a valid ID card along with a working student email ID. With the GitHub Student Developer Pack, you get access to a host of tools that will definitely help you get a headstart on your coding journey. The offerings include courses from Scrimba and access to assets from repositories like IconScout. There are many other things on offer, and they can be checked on the GitHub Student Developer Pack page here.

Adobe Creative Suite

One of the essentials in any creative workflow these days is the Adobe Creative Suite. For students, Adobe offers a subscription at ₹1,596.54/mo, which is 60 per cent off their regular Creative Cloud plan. You get access to Adobe’s entire creative suite, which includes apps all the way from Premiere Pro to Adobe Aero. There are also Substance 3D apps, which include Stager, Painter, Sampler, Designer, and Modeller.

WhatsApp gets a useful feature found in Zoom and other communication apps

WhatsApp screen sharing feature has been spotted by WABetaInfo on the app’s latest beta update. WhatsApp is late to bring this feature as it is already found in Zoom and other communication apps. Let’s see how WhatsApp has implemented the screen-sharing option.

WhatsApp screen-sharing: How it works

Screen sharing has been found on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.11.19. I also have this version of WhatsApp beta on my phone. However, I didn’t have the feature yet. It must be getting rolled out in phases.

Gladly, from the screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, we get to see the WhatsApp screen-sharing UI.

We see in the WhatsApp call menu, there's a phone-with-right-arrow icon on the bottom menu. Clicking that button starts the screen sharing. Well, the screen you’re currently on gets shared.

Also Read:

- WhatsApp will let you set username: Will this improve your privacy?

- WhatsApp edit feature to put an end to awkward mistakes in texting

- WhatsApp sticker maker on Android will make your chats more fun very soon

In this present version, there is a disclaimer intimating to the users that the screen will be shared and that the app will have access to the on-screen elements during this time. This could include sensitive things like passwords, messages, payment details, photos, audio, etc.

You can click the start button to begin recording.

Note, WhatsApp screen sharing may not work with older versions of the app. Also, there could be some restrictions on the number of people you could get to share your screen with.

In the case of Zoom screen sharing, only the person sharing the screen should have the ultimate control over what’s being shared and what others can see. It also has a Whiteboard sharing feature wherein all the participants can annotate on the board. There is even an option to share video playback with others.

It will be interesting to see Meta introduce all these abilities to the WhatsApp screen-sharing facility.

Once BGMI servers go live, you will be able to play on the Nusa map. Since BGMI is based on PUBG Mobile, we gather how big this map will be, what new it will bring and more. Here’s what to expect from BGMI 2.5 update.

Battlegrounds Mobile India version 2.5.0: What’s new

In the Google Play Store listing, the latest BGMI update brings up the version to 2.5.0. This includes:

BGMI Nusa map explained

Nusa is about 1x 1km in radius. For instance, Erangel is 8×8 km in size. So, it is the smallest map in the BGMI world.

It is uneven in topography. To travel on this landscape, you get a 2-seater quad bike.

As BGMI 2.5 changelog notes, there is an overflowing supply of weapons. You get tactical crossbows and NS2000 shotguns as highlights. Gun balance has been apparently improved.

There are elevators in buildings so you don’t have to waste time climbing stairs.

There are 3 buildings namely Regal Resort (present on the sandy beach in the southern-west corner of the island), Mysterious Cavern (present on the west side of the island), and Cargo Terminal (present on the northern coast of the island).

You get to manage the island, upgrade the buildings, earn Nusa coins, grab collectables, and unlock new appearances.

BGMI Stygian Leige X-Suit and a lot more

Besides the map, there is an all-new Stygian Liege X-Suit. It gets unlocked in a lucky spin. It costs about 60UC. This outfit can be equipped with Mystic Sorceress Set, Sacred Maiden Set, Bloody Tear Hoverboard, Azure Crystal– Kar98K, Shining Eagle Helmet, Starforge Stone and Star fragment.

In this update, you could also get the Super Recall option to bring back the squad mate who always gets finished, zip lines, and exclusive super weapons.

We can't wait to get our hands on the BGMI 2.5 update once it goes live on May 29. We hope the game doesn't deviate a lot from the PUBG Mobile. Let's see.

Every now and then we need to record our phone screens for various reasons and most Android smartphones do not have a built-in screen recorder. Hence, people end up installing some 3rd party screen recording app. One such screen recorder app was found trojan-infected and was removed from Play Store by Google.

The screen recording app's name is iRecorder. This app was installed by over 50,000 Android users. It was developed in 2021 and apparently a year later it was infected by malicious code. After which the app could easily track and upload user's files through extensions for audios, videos and other ways possible.

So, a lot of users had already faced the problem by then but they could never understand what was causing it until the recent revelation. TicWatch Pro 5 is high-end and up-to-date in specs, but for how long is the concern

Mobvoi has launched the TicWatch Pro 5 in India. It has a round dial, an AMOLED screen, up to 80 hours of battery life, and claims to offer “the latest version of Wear OS”. However, we are still concerned. Here is why.

TicWatch Pro 5 Wear OS update situation

TicWatch Pro 5 boots Wear OS 3.5 and claims to have the latest Wear OS by Google. Well, Google recently launched the Wear OS 4 at the IO 2023 event.

Previous TicWatch owners know the company hasn’t been timely regarding software updates. For instance, here’s what Mobvoi said recently about the software situation for TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, TicWatch Pro 3 and TicWatch E3:

Mobvoi note from Wear OS update by u/kevyn124 in WearOS

So, our concern is whether because of a similar “proprietary architectural setup,” the TicWatch Pro 5 would also suffer a slow update schedule.

What else TicWatch Pro 5 brings to your wrist?

Garmin Instinct 2X Solar launched to lure Apple fans and heres why it may be successful

Garmin Instinct 2X Solar and Garmin Instinct 2X Solar Tactical Edition are now available in India. These are incremental upgrades to the Instinct 2 Solar models that launched last year. However, people are likely to appreciate them. Even Apple fans!

Let’s see what are these new features of the Instinct 2X Solar series:

What are the new features of Garmin Instinct 2X Solar?

Garmin Instinct 2X Solar has a bigger 1.1-inch screen with a 176x176 pixel resolution. The display has a “two-window design” that includes 2 non-touch, monochrome, memory-in-pixel (MIP) layers.  The on-screen elements should appear clearer.

The screen sits in an apparently more durable case since the watch is MIL-STD-810-rated for "thermal, shock and water resistance."

The Instinct 2X Solar must be more accurate in navigational tracking since it supports the ability to lock into multiple satellite systems at a time. So, even if there are some form of signal jammers or barriers, it should be able to catch a GPS frequency more quickly.

There is also a gyroscope in the mix that promises "improved swim feature performance, improved rep counting (gym activities), and improved distance and direction calculations when GPS is off (when using UltraTrac mode)."

The onboard storage is also up to 64 gigs while the predecessor has only 32GB.

Well, solar-based charging support is the key highlight of this watch. It’s given in the name, after all.

You also get 10ATM water resistance, up to 40-day battery life in smartwatch mode or up to 60 hours in GPS mode, real-time notifications from the connected phone, built-in GPS connectivity, JumpMaster mode for skydivers, and trackers for heart rate, pulse oximeter, sleep, and women's health.

Now, hardcore fitness enthusiasts would know the credibility that Garmin offers. If you expect the same, then these new features are likely to attract you, even if you are from the Apple club.

Following teasers, Realme declared that it had chosen Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan as its new brand ambassador in advance of the June release of its Realme 11 Pro series phones. In case you didn’t know, realme introduced these cellphones in China in May 2023 and has since obtained numerous certifications, including those from the FCC, TDRA, and other organisations.

The actor Shahrukh Khan stated, “The brand’s unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries aligns perfectly with my own pursuit of excellence. Together, we aim to ignite innovation and fuel the growth of Realme globally,” when talking about the collaboration. Before Realme, Shahrukh Khan was the brand ambassador for Nokia in 2007 and Apple in 2017. Apart from Khan, currently there have been a lot of stars who have been appointed as the brand ambassador for smartphone brands, so check out our list below.

Samsung - Alia Bhatt partnership

Samsung

Alia Bhatt was appointed the brand ambassador for Samsung in 2021 for their premium Samsung Galaxy foldable devices namely; Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. The smartphones showcased class and premium style and that was their campaign which featured the star. Alia Bhat is considered one of the most popular actresses currently and has a following of 77.4 million fans on Instagram, establishing a prominent reach on social media.

OnePlus - Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor along with his better half Mira Rajput Kapoor were made the brand ambassadors for smartphone company OnePlus, most recently for their TV campaign in 2022. The OnePlus brand capitalised on the popularity of the couple for their smartphone and television campaigns in the past.

Xiaomi’s Redmi - Pankaj Tripathi

Xiaomi’s Redmi - Pankaj Tripathi

Pankaj Tripathi was appointed as the new brand ambassador for Xiaomi’s Redmi series of phones. The actor has gained popularity amongst the Indian audiences for his endearing performances as a native Indian character and Xiaomi’s Redmi is known to cater to the budget-friendly category of smartphones. The brand has tried to draw parallels between the essence of the actor’s career trajectory and the brand’s overall value for money appeal.

Poco - Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya had been appointed as the brand ambassador for Poco at the starting of this year. Pandya has achieved a daredevil persona in the eyes of the Indian audience with IPL popularity and the mass appeal to audience with his on field demeanour. The cricketer has gained popularity in the last few years and can hold influence on a sub-group of audience which the smartphone brand also taps into.

An important point to ponder on is how do the superstar brand ambassadors help contribute to the sales of the latest smartphone launches, and are they actually impactful? The answer here is quite easy, of course! They do draw a lot of attention to a brand when they are associated with the company which inadvertently adds value to the brand. With the brand ‘Shahrukh Khan’ being associated with Realme, it no longer can be seen as just another smartphone brand range and that is the essence of ‘starpower’, adding brand value. WhatsApp will let you set username: Will this improve your privacy

WhatsApp has been continuously rolling out features both for Android as well as iOS version, and now this username feature will allow WhatsApp users to select a username for their profile.

Just the way we can select usernames for social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat, the same way now there will be a username for WhatsApp users as well.

The WhatsApp username feature is still under development, and it hasn't even been rolled out to beta users right now. The WhatsApp Android Beta 2.23.11.15 which has been recently released will have this feature eventually. Once it has been tested, it will then be rolled out to other users.

WABetainfo has released an image of what usernames in WhatsApp might look like. Every username has to be unique, which means no two people can have the same username on WhatsApp. So, let's look into how you can set your username on WhatsApp.

How to set up a username on WhatsApp?

WhatsApp feature

First when you open WhatsApp, you can see the three dots menu on the top right corner. Tap on that and then the drop down menu will appear. From the drop down menu, tap on Settings.

After you reach settings, then go to profile. In profile you'll get to see profile picture, then name and then username. That is where you can enter your WhatsApp username.

How will the WhatsApp username feature work?

WABetaInfo has shared the image but it isn't clear yet how the username feature on WhatsApp will work. WhatsApp may allow users to communicate using the username instead of revealing their real names for privacy concerns. But, again you can only reach out to someone on WhatsApp, if you have their number. So, privacy concerns don’t really cut it.

Let’s hope for some more clarity on WhatsApp soon as it releases the username feature to users worldwide.

Hours before launch, BGMI error code 1 frustrating eager gamers like crazy

With BGMI set to drop in on the Google PlayStore on May 27, marking its return to India, gamers who had access to the game or had installed it before the ban are now getting a mysterious error code - “Error Code: Restriction-Area”.

Right before the game’s official launch in the country, the servers seem to have been taken down. This could mean a multitude of things. However, before we get into all the details, here’s a brief look at all that has happened so far.

Error Code: Restriction-Area will disappear after official BGMI game launch

One of the most popular battle-royale games in India when it was active, Battlegrounds Mobile India, ran on the famous PUBG: Mobile DNA. The game borrowed heavily from the title it had replaced in India, before being banned in the country itself.

Given that the launch of the game is literally hours away, I can safely guess that Krafton is getting its servers ready for the massive influx of players that they are going to get upon launch.

This is a very normal operating procedure followed by developers of games before and after the launch of the game. And, given that many of the players in India, who had access to the game through means that necessarily aren’t the most legitimate, KRAFTON would also need to do some cleaning to ensure that the players who’ll sign up at the time of relaunch have a seamless experience.

BGMI will be available on the Google PlayStore for download starting May 27. Are you looking forward to try the game out? Or have you already started playing the game? Let us know in the comments below.

New and improved BGMI game has been speculated to hit the online platform on May 27, as tipped by Ankit Kumar "AnkiiiBOT" Pandey a BGMI gamer in his stream. Recently, a gamer in their Youtube stream mentioned that the developers have updated the description of the game and the new changes that can be expected from the game.
