Elon Musk shares Super Important Proposal about how Dogecoin can grow

The billionaire, Founder - CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk opens up on how Dogecoin can grow and become a viable source of payment for the consumers - the general public.

We already know from the past that Elon Musk has a great interest in Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies. His tweets are known to create volatility in the cryptocurrencies market. His new take on the Dogecoin use states that it is important for the Dogecoin fees to fall for it to become more widely used in retail while responding to a tweet by Dogecoin co-creator Billy Markus who tweets with the handle Shibetoshi Nakamaoto.

Markus took to the microblogging site, responding to Chief Executive of U.S. cinema chain AMC, Adam Aron tweet.  Markus tweets - , "Robinhood announcing wallets, AMC CEO not only talking about accepting dogecoin but saying it was the single most interacted with tweet he has ever made, the crypto market finally seeing some green."  And shortly, Musk responded, "Super important for Doge fees to drop to make things like buying movie tix viable."

Super important for Doge fees to drop to make things like buying movie tix viable

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 22, 2021 AMC CEO Adam polls over accepting Dogecoin

AMC Entertainment Holdings is  the largest movie exhibition company in the US, Europe, and the world. AMC CEO  has earlier announced that they will accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ether for payments. CEO Adam Aron set up a poll on Twitter to ask the crypto community if his company should also accept the popular meme cryptocurrency dogecoin (DOGE).

I never thought I would see this day. @ElonMusk liked my Dogecoin Twitter Poll tweet. If you happen to see this tweet too Mr. Musk, congratulations on Tesla and SpaceX. I have strived to be an innovator my entire career, but you sir are the epitome of innovation above all others. pic.twitter.com/rIW6OpOnYL

— Adam Aron (@CEOAdam) September 22, 2021

“I sincerely want to hear your opinion, via this Twitter Poll. By year-end 2021, AMC will take Bitcoin, Etherum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash for online payments. I hear from many on my Twitter feed that we should accept Dogecoin too. Do you think AMC should explore accepting Dogecoin?"Adam Aron said in a tweet, which was liked by Musk.  And commenting on Musk's reaction to the tweet, Aron wrote, "I never thought I would see this day. @ElonMusk liked my Dogecoin Twitter Poll tweet. If you happen to see this tweet too Mr. Musk, congratulations on Tesla and SpaceX. I have strived to be an innovator my entire career, but you sir are the epitome of innovation above all others," he said in another tweet."

According to the poll results, 68% of the 140,388 voters said, “Yes, for sure do it." A further 9% supported the addition of dogecoin as a payment method but said they “won’t use it." Only 23% said “no" to the company accepting DOGE. The AMC CEO was overwhelmed by the results and enthusiasm of the dogecoin community.

Meanwhile, dogecoin rose 8% to $0.22, as per CoinDesk. Earlier in May, Dogecoin rallied after Musk announced that he is working to improve system transaction efficiency. On the other hand, Bitcoin had slumped after the Tesla chief tweeted that his car making company has decided not to accept payments in BTC

High Transaction Cost

This tweet has come from Musk despite Dogecoin having  low transaction cost as compared to other cryptocurrencies. Dogecoin has an average transaction cost of USD 0.593 against USD 46.31 of Etherum and  USD 2.156 of Bitcoin. These transaction costs are still on a much higher side for retail transactions as, according to the reports, the average value of a transaction is USD 53.98 for a SMB retailer which reduced to USD 22.88 for a food retailer. The lower cost of transaction will help in greater adoption of cryptocurrencies. A responsive graph shows us the difference between the transaction costs of three different cryptocurrencies.

Texting Friends Just Got Easier with BSNLs Reduced SMS Tarffis

Bharat Sancham Nigam Limited (BSNL) has now slashed SMS rates by 66.67% for the existing BSNL eSIM customers. There are different reductions that will apply to on-net and off-net SMSs that go beyond the subscription plan. The company has now changed the SMS base tariff to 5 paise per SMS for on-net SMS and 10 paise per SMSs sent from your BSNL network to another network. What this basically means is that after you’ve used up the SMS freebies in the subscribed eSIM or M2M plan, you need to pay 5 paise or 10 paise per SMS for on-net and off-net messages respectively.

Texting Friends Just Got Easier with BSNL’s Reduced SMS Tarffis!

“In the M2M tariff, different plans are designed where a limited data and limited number of free on-net SMS are provided. The tariff for on-net (after free SMS limit) and off-net SMS was 15 Paise per SMS. It was conveyed by some field units that this SMS tariff becomes very high when there is a requirement of fallback to SMS in areas of no data connectivity. To cater to this requirement, different Add-on On-Net SMS Packs have been introduced and tariff for On-Net SMS beyond the Plan/Package rate and Off-Net SMS has been revised,” the telco in an official statement noted.

Other BSNL SMS packages and rates

BSNL now also offers three other add-on SMS packs priced at Rs 12, Rs 20 and Rs 25. These packages offer a total of 500, 1000 and 2000 on-net SMSes respectively. Additionally, BSNL also slashed its tariff for their Bulk Push SMS Service. In view of TRAI’s newest guidelines, the company has also done-away with the deposits that customers had to first pay in order to use these services. The BSNL Web Portal can also be used by enterprises to send Bulk Push SMSs for promotional or transactional messages.

Ola Electric Scooters: You Can Now See Their Estimated Delivery on the Ola App

Launched in August this year, Ola Electric Scooters sold out shortly after being made available, clocking sales worth over 1,100 Crore. It’s clear that many Indians want to adopt a greener lifestyle, and an affordable offering within the clean tech space is certainly a great way to meet that need. To reassure customers of their purchase, Ola now lets buyers see the delivery status of their Ola bikes right on the Ola App itself. As the pandemic saw fewer people relying on on-demand cab services, this is a move that should help re-integrate the app and its usage into our lives once more.

Ola Electric Scooters: You Can Now See Their Estimated Delivery on the Ola App

What is the expected date of delivery for Ola Scooters?

Ola claims that all deliveries will happen in October itself, with the next round of sales opening on 1st November. This should give most green tech enthusiasts enough time to gauge the scooter’s performance and make purchase decisions accordingly.

The estimated delivery dates for individual orders are listed on the Ola app for customers to see.

What is the expected date of delivery for Ola Scooters?

Ola Electric Scooters: What do we know?

Ola offered its first two offerings, S1 and S1 Pro earlier this year, with the former priced at Rs 85,099 - 1.10 Lakh, and the latter being priced at Rs 1,29,999. The vanilla Ola S1 model is priced Rs 30,000 higher than most scooters available in the market, but this vehicle offers a range of features like a large screen interface, short charging time (claimed to be just over four hours), remote boot opening, proximity lock/unlock, navigation and more. The Ola S1 Pro, on the other hand, has all this and also features a voice assistant, hill mode and cruise control.

Widespread adoption of electric scooters, coupled with the government’s target to replace all buses with electric ones by 2025, should help cut down on the pollution levels in India.

Twitter: Bunch of privacy and other updates, working on NFT and Crypto Integration

The micro-blogging giant, Twitter has announced the  release of some new exciting features to its platform in the next few months. The company has said that it will soon support NFT authentication for creators. Artists and creators will be able to connect their crypto wallets and take payments from other users directly. The most awaited update is the Tips Feature. The company tested the Tips feature in the US, where the users could tip others not only using real currencies, but also using cryptocurrencies. The company is also preparing its own creator fund to provide audio creators with financial, technical and marketing support.

Twitter Tips: Tip others in Crypto

Twitter earlier in May had rolled out its Tips in the US for a few users for testing purposes, and soon is rolling it out worldwide on Android and iOS. Tips uses the help of third party apps such as Razorpay to tip the creators off on Twitter. Initially called Tips Jar, it is now available globally as Tips. The users will now be able to Tip others using the Digital currencies and also using Bitcoin. The payment service is based on the Bitcoin  Lightning Network based application - Strike. Strike is available to people in El Salvador and the US (excluding Hawaii and New York). Users for receiving Bitcoins need to have a Strike account but other Twitter users will be able to use any Bitcoin Lightning wallet to send tips to someone’s Strike account. This feature is being rolled out to iOS and Android users will get it over the coming weeks.

Also, Twitter said that it is adding more supported third-party platforms to process the tipping feature. The company has added support for GoFundMe and PicPay, which join Bandcamp, Cash App, Chipper, Patreon, Razorpay, Wealthsimple Cash, and Venmo. Twitter is also planning to add support for authenticating NFTs (non-fungible tokens) by letting people connect their crypto wallets. By connecting the wallets, they will be able to track and showcase their NFTs on the platform. The NFT authentication functionality will be available in the form of a badge that is shown on users' profile pictures, which in turn would mark the owner’s NFT as authentic. This feature of NFT Authentication is still in development and the company is trying to figure out different ways of deploying it.  The Super Follows feature which provides Subscription based content is also ready to be rolled up all over the globe.

The company is working on improving the discovery of ongoing Spaces conversations. The company is also testing a new feature known as “Communities”- a feature similar to Facebook Groups, wherein people with similar interests can join and interact. This feature is still in its testing phase.

Twitter’s new Features for improved protection of user’s privacy

Twitter announced a host of new features that are aimed at making the platform safer for its users.

Twitter had launched a new feature called “Safety Mode”, earlier this year, and is now in the testing phase in the beta mode, with a small group on iOS, Android, and Twitter.com. It started with the accounts that have English-language settings enabled. The Safety Mode offers an automated level of protection against online harassment and cyberbullying on the platform. People can quietly remove followers.

Further, Twitter said it is experimenting with a feature to give people a “heads up" when they are about to join a heated discussion on Spaces. This will give users a context about the “conversation vibe" before they join the room.

Twitter’s new Features for improved protection of user’s privacy

Recently, Twitter has also started labelling bot accounts clearly. According to sources, the company said it will start labelling more accounts, based on their type including businesses, brands and memorialized accounts.

For users who are frequently involved in the platform and interact a lot, as mentioned by others in their tweets, Twitter will be adding a feature that allows users to remove themselves from such conversations.

Lastly, Word filters will allow users to filter out “unwanted speech" and bad words in their replies. Users will be able to choose specific words and emojis, which will be blocked on their replies. The feature is still in the concept phase right now and the company will provide more updates at appropriate time.

Report: Bitcoin price can hit 100K by the end of 2021

Bitcoin is the most valuable digital asset but volatile

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) was created by Satoshi Nakamoto and its ledger started on January 3, 2009. Since its inception, it has become the most valuable and popular digital asset in the world.

Bitcoin is the most valuable digital asset but volatile

2021 has been a highly volatile year for Bitcoin. In April 2021, it touched an all-time high of $ 65,000 (roughly ₹ 47.7 lakhs). In May 2021, Bitcoin prices corrected by more than 50 percent from the all-time high after Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk announced that his company would no longer accept Bitcoin as a payment mode. After a few months of consolidation, it reclaimed the $ 50,000 level (roughly ₹ 36.8 lakhs).

On September 7, 2021, El Salvador became the first country to declare Bitcoin as legal tender.

Bitcoin prices may touch $100K by the end of 2021

According to a report published by Bloomberg, the price of Bitcoin is likely to approach by the end of 2021. “About $40,000 may be the Bitcoin cap a while within that we see as a resting crypto-asset bull market. No. 2 Ethereum is rapidly moving towards No. 1 market-cap status and has been a top driver of the Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index in 2021. Bitcoin is more likely to resume appreciating towards $100,000 resistance rather than sustaining below $20,000,” the report read.

On September 16, 2021, Mike McGlone, Bloomberg Intelligence Senior Commodity Strategist, tweeted that he expects a “significant advance in 2021, potentially to $100,00, we believe”.

Can Bitcoin Reach $100,000 in 2021? Five Charts Show Potential - Past #Bitcoin trading trends and the crypto's declining supply vs. mainstream adoption suggest a significant advance in 2021, potentially to $100,000, we believe. pic.twitter.com/0tH7PS7QEI

— Mike McGlone (@mikemcglone11) September 16, 2021 Bitcoin’s supply cap will boost the upside movement

“The human nature of acknowledging a new asset class is what we see as a primary support in 2021,” stated Mike McGlone in Bloomberg Crypto Outlook 2021, June 2021 Edition.

The report states that the supply cap of Bitcoin will help it to become more expensive. Bitcoin supply will keep ‘halving’ every four years, and its supply will stop once its circulation supply touches 21 million coins. “The 2020 halving came amid unprecedented global fiscal and monetary stimulus, along with institutions tilting towards Bitcoin allocations,” the report added.

At the time of writing this article, 1 Bitcoin was trading at $ 42,325.10 (₹ 31,28,438.60).

Microsoft Office's perpetual version or the standalone version can be purchased with a one-time payment, as part of a volume licensing deal, instead of paying monthly subscription fees. With the perpetual license, one can run that version of Microsoft Office for as long as they want, even after Microsoft stops releasing security updates for that version. This can be installed on one Windows or Mac PC, so it's bound to that PC, not to the user.

Why use the perpetual version?

There are millions of Microsoft Office 365 users. And, although Microsoft recommends Office 365, loaded with many cloud and collaboration features and AI-based automation tools, there are still many personal users and even companies who prefer the perpetual version over the subscription-based one. Also, Microsoft is increasing their subscription fee for Office 365 from next year, which might give some users a bit of a hard time.

Microsoft LTSC service

On 17th October this year, Microsoft also launched their LTSC service for both commercial and government users on Windows and Mac. Microsoft's Long Term Services Channel (LTSC) is another non-subscription version of Office packed with only the essential features from Office 365 so it'll be missing all the AI- and cloud-powered features. Although it's meant for some specific uses, such as devices that aren't connected to the Internet or act as process control devices in a factory environment.

Latest announcements

Some of the latest features that Microsoft has added in Office LTSC might also pop up in Office 2021, namely, Dark Mode, Line Focus for Word documents, dynamic arrays in Excel, XLOOKUP function to make the hectic job of searching through tables much easier. Microsoft promised 5 years of support for both the Office LTSC and perpetual version. And the good news is, they've also promised to release one more final perpetual version of Microsoft Office, after 2021. Microsoft is also making project and Visio available for the people who are interested in their next version of the on-premises Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, Project Server, and SharePoint Server. The pricing of Microsoft Office 2021 is yet to be known, and we'll keep you updated as soon as more info is released.

SBI bans its UPI for crypto: Uncertain days for Investors

Crypto trading in India received an unexpected twist as the largest lender in India - State Bank of India (SBI) baned the use of its UPI platform for the transactions related to crypto exchanges. It has also asked the payment processors to disable the option of SBI UPI on their platform as well.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) developed Unified Payment Interface (UPI)  is a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulated instant-payment system. It allows instant transfer of money between any two bank accounts.

Snowball Impact of SBI Banning UPI for crypto?

It is being said that this decision of SBI comes after many banks imposing similar bans on Crypto Trading in the past few months. HDFC Bank, in May, had warned investors against dealing in virtual currencies, including bitcoin.  A media report also stated that ICICI Bank informed a few payment gateways to shut off its net banking services for those users who were trading in cryptocurrencies.

Snowball Impact of SBI Banning UPI for crypto?

With this ban from SBI, not only SBI account holders, but many other users will not be able to buy or sell crypto including the most famous - Bitcoin, by transferring funds using UPI, as none of the processors which handle funds for exchanges will be unable to receive money sent for crypto purchases on their SBI accounts.

What is surprising is that the move comes months after the Reserve bank of India (RBI) issued a clarification to banks asking them not to block crypto exchanges over an earlier “invalid circular”.

While the crypto traders were enjoying the possibility of cryptocurrency being treated as a commodity through the new  yet to be introduced Crypto Bill, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharamana saying that, “We are not saying no to cryptocurrency”, this shift in the attitude of India’s largest banks disappoints crypto exchanges and the traders in the unregulated market.

Snowball Impact of SBI Banning UPI for crypto?

After SBI’s recent decision, one of the few payment avenues left for crypto exchanges has been shut off. When SBI was asked more about the decision, one of the spokesperson just said that, “It is the policy of the bank not to comment upon matters relating to the subject matter.”

Traders are now restricted to use E-Wallet services to continue crypto trading but the increasing wallet charges and the fund transfer limits discourages them to use these services. They thus usually prefer UPI in the absence of other payment modes like credit and debit cards, NEFT (national electronic fund transfers) and net banking.

Uncertain days Ahead for Cryptocurrency Investors!

The Reserve Bank of India Governor, Shaktikanta Das recently said the Central Bank had conveyed to the government its "serious and major" concerns around crypto and its financial stability.  For crypto investors, his comments come at an inopportune time with the Union Cabinet just weeks away from taking up a bill to regulate virtual currencies and their fledgling market in India.

India has nearly 1.5 crore investors who hold crypto worth Rs 15,000 crore — and an increasing number of people are looking to get into the space, especially following the Bitcoin price rally over the last year. Nearly 350 Indian startups are operating in the cryptocurrency field, and its related blockchain space.

The largest domestic crypto trading platform, WazirX, has already been impacted by the decision as the processing agency follows the directive of SBI. Experts also indicate that the payment processors may stop accepting payment for other exchanges as well, unless SBI does a rethink.

Uncertain days Ahead for Cryptocurrency Investors!

When WazirX chief executive Nischal Shetty was contacted he said, “We’re trying to discuss and put forward our points to SBI. WazirX follows KYC (know your customer) norms and AML (anti-money laundering) policies. Being the largest crypto exchange in India, millions of Indians are currently affected due to this move by SBI. We look forward to a positive resolution soon.”

After SBI’s decision, many banks may be reluctant to onboard crypto merchants on their respective UPI platforms.

While there has been no explicit direction from RBI to disallow payments for crypto trades, banks and other several payment gateways have sensed the unstated regulatory stance on cryptos. In the course of meetings, RBI officials have voiced their reservations on cryptos, according to the senior bankers.

Significantly, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which developed UPI, has refused to block fund movements for cryptocurrency trades.
