Coinbase sells Junk-Bonds: Cryptocurrencies finally going Mainstream

Coinbase’s recent junk-bond sales prove that cryptocurrencies are surely entering the mainstream arena. Junk-bond investors gave cryptocurrencies their biggest endorsement yet as Coinbase Global Inc. sold over 2 billion dollars worth of debt through bonds. This event was surprising for the market as the platform witnessed over 7 billion dollars worth of orders incoming. Thus the crypto giants were able to increase the size of their transaction from 1.5 billion dollars to over 2 billion dollars, according to subject experts.

Big Endorsement by debt Investors

Also, Coinbase issued an equal amount of ten and seven-year bonds at an interest rate of 3.625% and 3.375%. While these rates seem attractive in terms of US Markets, these are lower than what the platform had proposed initially.

After such developments, fixed-income investors such as debt investors including pension funds and hedge funds are ready to step into this market. This clearly shows that cryptocurrency is now no longer reserved to venture capital investment only.

According to an analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence - Julie Chariell, “This strong demand is clearly a big endorsement by debt investors. “

Big Endorsement by debt Investors

After this incident, Coinbase Global Inc. became the second crypto-based junk-bond issuer in the US Market. Previously, the Microstrategy Incorporation, the software developer turned digital asset investor, sold over 500 million dollars of notes to purchase Bitcoin.

Now, Coinbase is on the path to improve its use cases and general corporate operations. It is being said that the recent sale will help it enhance its product takeovers and development.

Although Coinbase was able to cut down its rate, the platform could not receive expected minimal borrowing costs. The new bonds were instead rated one step lower than investment by the market. According to Bloomberg Bond Indexes, similar bonds are offering a 2.86% average yield in the market.

Growing Cypro Acceptance

But as crypto is now growing rapidly in the mainstream arena, the growth opportunities are significant and hence paying a little extra to invest in this field is a good option considering the possibilities of hefty profits in the near future.

Growing Cyptro Acceptance

On Tuesday, it emerged that Jump Trading Group, one of the world’s biggest traders, has committed billions of dollars in capital to crypto trading and developing software for decentralized finance - DeFi, a blockchain-fueled corner of crypto that aims to replace convention finance.

Bloomberg Intelligence’s Chariell also mentioned that “ Coinbase is a strong company and a leader in crypto trading, but it’s looking to do more to diversify away from that, which can be a volatile business”, adding that DeFi is an area Coinbase is looking at. She also said that the ability of Coinbase to tap the bond market can prompt strong competitors like Binance or Gemini to eventually sell debt.

The bond offering is a win for Coinbase as it contends with a warning from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission against launching a product that would allow consumers to earn interest on their crypto holdings.

It is mentioned that Goldman Sachs Group Inc. managed the sale of the Coinbase notes.

Thus, Coinbase is undoubtedly one of the strongest and most promising crypto ventures in the market. If the platform manages to optimize decentralized finance, it will be surely unstoppable in the future. Its recent feat is enough to show that cryptocurrencies have already entered the mainstream market.

Zoom says it "plans to provide real-time transcription for (as many as 30 additional languages) by the end of next year", which were supposed to be introduced as automatic live transcriptions / closed captions in English to all Zoom accounts (including free ones) by February 2021. This comes with another announcement "to support real-time translation across as many as 12 languages by the end of next year." Zoom did not provide specifics as on which languages were to be implemented and by when they will be supported, but they did state that these advancements are achieved as a direct result of the machine learning expertise obtained through the acquisition of German translation firm Kites.

Now the latest smartphone from the iQOO Z series, iQOO Z5 Pro, has allegedly been leaked via Google Play Console listing with the model number V2148A. It was previously spotted on the IEMI database, Chinese 3C certification site, Geekbench. Let's take a look at some of the leaked specifications and features:

iQOO Z5 Pro leaked specs:

From its high performance 2.4 GHz CPU and Adreno 642L GPU it is deduced that iQOO Z5 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC processor. The leak also confirmed the availability of 8 GB RAM. iQOO Z5 Pro will flaunt Android 11 with Vivo's renowned Funtouch UI.

iQOO Z5 Pro leaked specs

The Google Console listing has also leaked an image of the iQOO Z5 Pro that suggests it'll come with an FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) curved display with a punch-hole camera and we can expect at least a 120Hz refresh rate panel from a smartphone of this price segment.

It'll get juiced from a 5000 mAh battery with 44 watts fast charging capability. We might see a side-mounted fingerprint scanner depending on whether the display is gonna be AMOLED or not and dual stereo speakers. Looking at their past releases iQOO Z5 Pro is expected to be priced around ₹25,000-₹30,000. iQOO Z5 Pro will probably launch in China by the end of this month.

New Jio Phone Recharge Plan to hustle in a new era of internet literacy in India

Jio has been largely credited with Internet penetration in tier-2 and tier-3 cities in India, and now, with its newest offering launched, it should further its mission to bring internet literacy all over the country. This new Jio Phone recharge plan is priced at Rs 75, making it the cheapest offering from the company so far.

What does the new Jio Phone recharge plan include?

What does the new Jio Phone recharge plan include?

The Rs 75 recharge gives users access to unlimited phone calls over 28 days of validity. It also includes 50 SMSs per day and 200MB of data per day. Users will be able to access a host of Jio apps like JioTV, JioCinema, JioNews, JioSecurity, and JioCloud, which should allow users to gain access to a host of content.

When will the next Jio Phone be launched?

Jio has also announced that it has delayed the launch of its next smartphone to Diwali. While this news came as a blow to fans of the company, the latest Jio Phone recharge plan should help keep their gloominess at bay.

When will the next Jio Phone be launched?

Isn’t the new Jio Phone recharge plan more expensive?

If one is to compare the old Jio Phone recharge plan (Rs 39) with the new one, it’s quite apparent that while on paper this plan may seem costlier, it actually works out to be more or less the same. The old Jio recharge plan priced at Rs 39 offered a validity period of 14 days along with 100MB data. This new plan offers double. While the Rs 69 plan offered 0.5GB of data per day along with 100SMSs, it also had a validity period of only 14 days. Hence, the new Jio Phone recharge plan works out to be much cheaper and should facilitate widespread smartphone adoption in tier-2 and tier-3 cities in India.

Will Venom: Let There Be Carnage be a Box Office Success?

Although Venom was categorised as a failure, it still grossed over $850 million worldwide, it’s fair to ponder over whether the sequel will be a success, considering the pandemic and most people’s reluctance to enter cinema halls. Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be released in cinemas worldwide, including India, on 1st October, and will be available in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. Venom will be released along with the new Bond film, No Time To Die, which will hit cinemas on September 30th. It will be interesting to see which way audiences flow - however, having said that, MCU films have always seen high levels of success with Indian audiences and we can expect the same for this film.

India Moves closer to healing with the new CoWIN KYC-VS API

With India having administered 170 million (vaccination doses in August, and 17% of adults being fully vaccinated, the country is now taking concrete steps towards opening the economy and healing. To facilitate the same, the CoWin App now has a new API - the KYC-VS API or the Know Your Customer - Vaccine Status API. This means that the app will now feature an Aadhar-like verification process that allows you to update your vaccination status for others to verify.

How does the new CoWIN KYC-VS API work?

How does the new CoWIN KYC-VS API work?

Once a business integrates the API into their system, they only need to enter two key details - the name of the person they are verifying and their mobile number. The person will then receive an OTP, and once it is entered in the system, their vaccination status will be displayed. Based on the announcement on the PIB website, the only information that will be displayed is whether the person is not vaccinated, partially vaccinated, or fully vaccinated. All other details will remain private.

How will the new CoWIN KYC-VS API help India heal?

With socio-economic activities all set to resume, it is essential for business owners, vendors, and other key stakeholders to be able to gauge their safety. While experts have actively reminded the public that double vaccinations do not guarantee that you will not get Covid-19, or will not transmit it to another person, knowing the vaccine status of an individual can help increase your own safety by inspiring you to take key measures while interacting with people.

Google jumps onto the voice-calling bandwagon to make Hybrid Working easier

Is Google’s Voice and Video Call Update Too Little, Too late?

Spontaneous video and voice calling are old news - but does this mean there’s no space for Google to offer the same? To mitigate the risks of joining an overcrowded market Google is offering its services within the professional space. The new update will be a part of the Google Workforce suite, which already offers video calling through Google Meet.

The new update will allow employees to chat with teammates at will, without having to go through the rigmarole of scheduling meetings and requesting links. Additionally, users can answer these calls via both the Gmail app on their smartphone, and the web interface. This can be particularly beneficial for employees managing tasks that require constant collaboration.

What are the other updates Google’s planning to offer?

The base plans might be further increased to Rs 99, according to company chairman Mr. Sunil Mittal. He, however, said that it is not clear as to when the company would increase tariffs and that it would depend on market forces.

Though the company has not yet released the detailed specifications and features of the upcoming Smartphone, here is what we know and what we can expect from the Hot 11S.

As per the details released, it seems that the Hot 11S is packed with many similarities to the recently launched Redmi 10 Prime. Both the phones are powered by the MediaTek Helios G88 SoC and feature a 50MP primary rear camera. The Hot 11S is the first phone of Infinix to feature this camera sensor.

As the company has already confirmed about the processor being the new MediaTek Helios G88, the teaser released by them also unveils some other exciting features of the phone.  It can be seen that the smartphone will feature a 50MP primary rear camera sensor along with two other camera sensors. The triple rear camera setup will be supported by a quad-LED flash. The secondary cameras are expected to be ultrawide or macro and a depth sensor. Also, the phone features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Infinix Hot 11S: Expected Features, Specifications and Price

Till now, these are the only known facts regarding the phone, more details regarding the display, RAM, Storage, battery capacity are yet to be revealed. Even the price is not yet disclosed but it is confirmed that the Infinix Hot 11S will be available exclusively on Flipkart.

Still, as the phone had also recently shown up on the Google Play Console, this is what we can expect based on the details shown up there on the listing.

It can be expected that the Infinix Hot 11S is packed with RAM upto 6GB and storage of about 128GB. It should also feature a 90Hz FHD+ Display. Though we don't have a clear understanding of the screen size (though it should be the usual 6.5 inches), exact display details and these features, what the company has confirmed is that the Infinix Hot 11S will support fast charging at 18W via USB Type-C.

Since, its predecessor, the Infinix Hot 10S housed a 6,000 mAh battery, the same is expected from the Hot 11S. It should run on Android 11 OS.
