Poco X3 Pro launched in India brings Snapdragon 860 SoC, 120Hz display and more

Poco has officially launched the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC totting, Poco X3 Pro in India. The device is the successor of the Poco X3 Pro that was launched last year in the country. 

The Poco X3 Pro is aimed at gaming enthusiasts and users seeking high levels of performance from their phones without breaking the bank. As such, the device houses a big display that also supports a 120Hz fast refresh rate. There's also other hardware on the device that's primed for handling high-performance tasks. 

Poco X3 Pro: Price

The Poco X3 Pro has been launched in India in two variants, with the entry one bringing with itself 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at a price of RS 18,999. The higher-end 8GB+128GB variant has been launched in 20,999. The X3 Pro will be available via Flipkart from April 6. The company will be making the device available in three new colours. 

Poco X3 Pro: Specifications

Talking about the specifications of the phone, the Poco X3 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ resolution display that also supports up to an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The phone comes with a selfie camera housed inside a punch-hole. For protection, the screen comes with a layer of Gorilla Glass 6. The device is not the thinnest in the market as it measures 9.4 millimeters in thickness and weighs 215 grams.

The device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset under the hood. This is an octa-core solution with a CPU running at up to 2.96GHz and Adreno 640 GPU. The SoC is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. As for the software, the device runs on MIUI 12 and Poco Launcher which is based on Android 11 out-of-the-box. 

For cameras, the device brings with itself a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera housed within the notch cutout. Apart from this, the phone also gets stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, IR blaster and is equipped with a 5,160mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi launches Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro, Wireless charging pad and Mi AX9000 gaming router

After weeks of waiting, Xiaomi officially launched a host of products at its mega launch event yesterday. The global event saw the company unveil the much-awaited, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Lite and Mi 11i alongside the Mi Smart Band 6 fitness band, Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro, an 80W wireless charging pad and a new gaming router. 

These products will now form the core of the company's premium range across price and product segments. While we have already covered the new smartphones and the new Mi Smart Band in separate stories, we'll take a look at what the other three products bring with themselves in this one. 

Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro

The latest smart home device from the company is called the Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro. A rebrand of the MIJIA Projector 2 Pro that was launched in China last year, this new device also comes with Google Assistant built-in and runs on Android TV.

The device comes with support for FHD resolution (1920x1080) pixels and also a screen size adjustable between 60 and 120 inches. As for other specs, the projector is powered by a 0.47” DMD chip that can help hit it a maximum brightness of 1300 lumens. Apart from this, the projector also comes with support for HDR10 for crisp colours and vivid picture quality.

Additionally, there's also a 10W speaker with DTS-HD and Dolby Audio support. The speaker uses dual tweeters and dual full-range woofers. For software, the smart projector runs on Android TV OS. As mentioned above, there is also Google Assistant built-in. The device also gets Chromecast and Netflix. The Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro has been launched in Europe will at EUR 999. There is no word on the launch of the device in India yet. 

Mi Wireless Charging Pad

The company has also launched a new wireless charging pad at the event. This device is capable of charging three devices simultaneously. In terms of design, it looks like Apple’s AirPower charging mat.

The company claims the device can provide a maximum of 20W wireless charging for three Qi wireless charging supported devices -- bringing it to a total of 60W charge across the pad. For now, Xiaomi’s wireless charging pad has been currently launched in China, with no word on when it will launch in other markets. The device has been launched at has approximately $90 (Rs 6,550)

Mi AX9000 Gaming Wi-Fi Router

Last, but not least, the company also launched the new Mi AX9000 Gaming Wi-Fi Router, which features WiFi 6 standards. This is a Tri-band router with support for both 2.4 and 5G bands. Underneath the hood, it hides a hexa core Qualcomm chipset (4 CPU + 2 NPU). It also offers a third 5G_Game band which is dedicated to gaming. Further, the device also offers support for 4×4 160MHz bandwidth over the 4×4 80Mhz that was found in the AX3000 series routers.

The router can provide support for up to 16 devices as it comes with MU-MIMO and OFDMA. The WiFi router supports speeds of up to 4,804Mbps and promises strong speeds up to a range of 12 meters.

OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T get stable OxygenOS 11 update

OnePlus 8 users, time to update your smartphones. OnePlus has rolled out the OxygenOS 11 update to the OnePlus 8 (review), OnePlus 8 Pro (review) and the OnePlus 8T (review). The update brings with it a slew of fixes and some optimizations. Those that have one of the OnePlus 8 devices can check for the update in the settings menu of their smartphone. 

The OnePlus 8T gets OxygenOS 11.0.8.12. The update is available now in India with the EU and NA region to follow soon. In India, the update is version 11.0.8.12.KB05DA while in the EU is is 11.0.8.12.KB05BA and in NA it is 11.0.8.11.KB05AA​.

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro gets OxygenOS 11.0.5.5. The update is available now in India with the EU and NA region to follow soon. In India, the update for the OnePlus 8 is version 11.0.5.5.IN21DA while in the EU is is 11.0.5.5.IN21BA and in NA it is 11.0.5.5.IN21AA. For the 8 Pro, the update version in India is 11.0.5.5.IN11DA while in the EU is is 11.0.5.5.IN11BA and in NA it is 11.0.5.5.IN11AA​. 

The OnePlus and 8 Pro have the same changelog as the OnePlus 8T with one additional fix - OnePlus Share: Fixed the issue that files sent by other third-party devices cannot be received. The rest of the fixes are the same across all three devices.

Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Lite and Mi 11i globally alongside the Mi Smart Band 6 fitness band and a Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro. Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 back in December 2020 as the first phone with Snapdragon 888 under the hood. Since then there have been several rumours about the addition of more phones in the Mi 11 series. Xiaomi also plans to bring its Mi 11 lineup to India soon as revealed previously.

The Mi 11 Ultra is Xiaomi’s top-of-the-line smartphone with flagship features while the Mi 11i slightly tones it down. The Mi 11 Lite has 4G and 5G variants and is one of the sleekest and lightweight phones available today. Here’s a brief look at the pricing and specifications of the Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11i and Mi 11 Lite.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra price and specifications

The Mi 11 Ultra has a ceramic build with triple cameras on the back alongside a mini rear display. It is being offered in Ceramic White and Black colours, measuring 8.38 millimetres in thickness and weighing in at 234 grams. It is also IP68 rated making it resistant to dust and water ingress at upto 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

The Mi 11 Ultra features a 6.81-inch AMOLED display that offers QHD+ (3200x1440 pixels) resolution and has a punch-hole notch cutout for the selfie camera. The display supports upto a 120Hz refresh rate, is certified for HDR10+ playback with Dolby Vision and is topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus. There’s a secondary 1.1-inch mini AMOLED display on the back that supports an always-on display and shows notifications and more. 

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 60 GPU. This is paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and it runs on MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.

There are triple cameras on the back headlined by a 50MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture and OIS support, a 48MP periscope camera offering upto 5x optical zoom and a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 128-degree field-of-view. The rear cameras can record in 8K at 24fps and 4K UHD at upto 60FPS. On the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera housed within the notch cutout.

The Mi 11 Ultra has stereo speakers optimized by Harman Kardon. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 67W fast wired and wireless charging that takes only 36 minutes to fully charge the phone.

Xiaomi has priced the Mi 11 Ultra at EUR 1,199 for the 12GB + 256GB storage model.

The Mi 11i features a flat 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout in the centre. The screen has minimal bezels on the sides, offers upto 120Hz refresh rate and is topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. Mi 11i measures 7.8 millimetres in thickness and weighs 196 grams. It is IP53 rated as well making it splash-resistant. 

Like the Mi 11 and the Mi 11 Ultra, the Mi 11i is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. The phone is being offered in two storage variants: 8GB+128GB and 256GB storage. It runs on MIUI 12 and will receive an update to MIUI 12.5 soon.

The Mi 11i has triple cameras on the back that consists of a 108MP primary camera with an f/1.75 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 119-degree field-of-view and a 5MP telemacro camera. On the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera. 

Xiaomi has equipped the Mi 11i with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers and a 4,520mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi is offering the Mi 11i in three colours: Celestial Silver, Frosty White and Cosmic Black. The 128GB storage option is priced at EUR 649 while the 256GB storage option is priced at EUR 699.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G and 4G both feature a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution AMOLED display with upto 90Hz refresh rate support. The 5G version supports HDR10+ and has a layer of Gorilla Glass 6 protection while the 4G version has HDR10 support and is topped with Gorilla Glass 5.

Both versions of the Mi 11 Lite measures 6.81 millimetres in thickness and weighs between 157-159 grams. The 5G version is being offered in Truffle Black, Mint Green and Citrus Yellow while the 4G version comes in Boba Black, Bubblegum Blue and Peach Pink. 

The Mi 11 Lite 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G with an octa-core CPU running at upto 2.4GHz and with Adreno 642 GPU. This is paired with upto 8GB RAM and upto 128GB storage options to choose from depending on the region. 

Mi 11 Lite 5G and 4G have the same set of cameras headlined by a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP macro cameras. The 5G variant has a 20MP selfie camera while the 4G model gets a 16MP front-facing camera.

There’s a side-mounted fingerprint reader, dual stereo speakers and the Mi 11 Lite is equipped with a 4,250mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging.

Xiaomi launches Mi Band 6 with 156-inch AMOLED display featuring SpO2 tracking, heart rate monitoring

Xiaomi has launched the Mi Band 6. While the design is the same as the Mi Band 5, it comes with a slightly bigger display and a few new features. It has a slightly larger 1.56-inch AMOLED display and comes with more than 60 display faces. 

The band can auto-detect six fitness activities. It also has 30 exercise modes. Users can also monitor their SpO2 levels and heart rate using the band. The Mi Band 6 track users sleep with REM and track the users’ sleep breathing quality. Let’s take a look at the specifications and features of the Mi band 6 in detail.

Like we said above, the Mi Band 6 looks like the Mi Band 5 (review) but comes with a slightly bigger display. Xiaomi says the display is 50% larger on the Mi Band 6 when compared to its predecessor. The Mi Band 6 has a 1.56-inch AMOLED display with a 152 x 486 pixel resolution giving it a pixel density of 326 PPI. The display has a claimed maximum brightness of 450 nits. It also comes with adjustable brightness modes. It sports more than 60 watch faces. The display also has tempered glass with an anti-fingerprint coating.

The Mi Band 6 is a mere 12.7mm in thickness, and the adjustable strap is 155 to 219mm. The Mi Band 6 comes in many colour options for the strap, including Black, Orange, Yellow, Olive, Ivory, Blue. It is also 5 ATM water-resistant.

Coming to activity tracking, the Mi Band 6 offers tracking for 30 fitness modes. It can auto-detection six activities, including walking, treadmill, cycling, rowing machine (ergometer) and elliptical. It also supports SpO2 tracking. While the Mi band 5 brought with it sleep tracking, the Mi band 6 tracks the users breathing quality while sleeping in addition to sleep tracking. It can also track activities like breathing exercise, stress monitoring, female health tracking PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) and Idle alerts. Users can also use the Mi Band 6 as a shutter button for the smartphone’s camera. 

Moving over to the battery, the Mi Band 6 has a 125mAh LiPo battery. Xiaomi says the device can change in less than 2 hours and has a standby time of 14 days. The device has Bluetooth 5.0 to connect with a user's smartphone.
