Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 by Zotac shows up in leaked renders

Nvidia is expected to announce the 3000 series of consumer GeForce graphics cards, but in the days leading up to the launch, there’s already a lot of unofficial and official chatter. While we still wait for an official reveal of the 3000-series GPUs, a leak of the upcoming card by Zotac has leaked.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is going to be one beefy GPU, if rumours are to be believed.

According to Tom’s Hardware, a tweet claims to show off a number of renders of the upcoming RTX 3090 by Zotac. Another tweet shows a total of 9 models between the RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 family of GPUs. According to VideoCardz, the Nvidia RTX 3090 would sport 24GB of GDDR6X memory and 5248 CUDA Cores. The RTX 3080 is reported to have 10GB GDDR6X memory while the RTX 3070 will have 8GB GDDR6X VRAM. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is reported by VideoCardz to be capable of pulling up to 350W of power. All of this, off course, currently remains limited to the rumour domain.

I don't usually filter things; DE but do you want to see the new 3090 zotac?

Call of Duty: Mobiles Thermite lethal grenade now available: Heres everything you need to know

Call of Duty: Mobile players will now be able to unlock the new Thermite lethal grenade in the game. The new throwable has to be unlocked via the ‘Rocket Arm’ seasonal challenge, but does not require players to fully complete the challenge in order to unlock it. In fact, the grenade will be unlocked right after players complete the second challenge.

Conquest ⁣ To escape your past, face it head on!⁣ ⁣ New Battle Pass⁣ Shipment⁣ Reznov⁣ Nikto - Stronghold⁣ Kilo Bolt-Action⁣ & more!⁣ ⁣ New season, weapons, modes and soldiers available NOW in #CODMobile! pic.twitter.com/YZBA6bDQXw

— Call of Duty: Mobile (@PlayCODMobile) August 16, 2020

Unlocking procedure

As mentioned before, unlocking the Thermite is pretty straightforward as players will only have to complete two challenges. The first tasks them with using the Smoke Grenade ten times in matches. After that, players will have to kill five enemies using trip mines. After that, the new lethal grenade is unlocked.

How to use

The Themite is more of an Area Denial Weapon that is designed to be used to keep enemies from entering a particular area. As such, it is pretty similar in use to the molotov cocktail that was initially a scorestreak, but was transferred to the lethal grenade slot after the Season 9 Conquest update.

How it works

When thrown, the Thermite grenade sticks to where it lands and starts burning for a few seconds. Any enemies caught in the radius will start to burn and will die if they don’t step away. The grenade will stick to any surface before detonating.

Call of Duty: Mobile has introduced a new lethal grenade called Thermite

Molotov vs Thermite

Both these grenades are Area Denial Weapons. However, the Thermite cover a larger radius (50) as compared to the Molotov Cocktail (40). However, the Molotov has a higher damage (60) as compared to the Thermite (40).

Strategy

As an Area Denial Weapon, the Thermite is extremely useful in game modes like Hardpoint and Domination as it will delay opponents from entering an area. It can also be used in common flanking routes in order to deny opponens the chance to enter an area. It is best used in small areas like rooms, corridors and even doorways.

Redmi 9A confirmed to be available exclusively on Amazon

Xiaomi is prepping to launch the latest iteration of its "Desh ka smartphone" - the Redmi 9A in India on September 2. Days before the launch, it is confirmed that the budget phone will be available on Amazon. For those unaware, the Redmi 9A is company's latest offering in its entry-level series of phones, which is highly popular in India.

Amazon has made the Redmi 9A product page live, revealing that the smartphone will be available exclusively on its platform. Sadly, the listing doesn't reveal more details about the hardware of the phone, but those interested can now register with the 'notify me' button to receive all the updates about the launch. But the smartphone is likely to boast of similar specifications as its global variant.

#DeshKaSmartphone #Redmi9A is launching on 2nd September! But can you spot all the previously launched #Redmi A series smartphones in this picture? pic.twitter.com/cWNkpUk3R5

— Redmi India - #Redmi9 is here! (@RedmiIndia) August 28, 2020

The Redmi 9A was launched alongside the Redmi 9C in the global markets back in June. The company recently launched the Redmi 9C in India, rebranded as the Redmi 9 Prime, priced at Rs 9,999. The Redmi 9A is priced at RM 349 (Approx Rs 6,350), and we expect to be priced around Rs 7K mark in the Indian market.

Globally, Redmi 9A was launched in three colour variants - Midnight Grey, Twilight Blue, and Peacock Green.

Redmi 9A colour variants

Redmi 9A specifications

The Redmi 9A comes with a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS display with 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 chipset with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The chipset is coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 512GB via micro USB). The company might introduce more variants of the phone in the country. On the camera front, it features a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

All of this is powered by a 5000mAh battery, which is one of the key highlights of the Redmi 9A. In the software department, the phone has the MIUI 11 skin on top of Android 10.

Although the global variant gives us a good look at the design and specs, we will have to wait for the pricing and availability details of the phone until September 2.

The tweet also reveals some interesting statistics. The developers note that a majority (33%) of the banned players were caught using X-Ray Vision, while 27% of the players were using Auto-Aim. 12% of the players were using Speed Hacks. The percentage of players banned for modifying areas of damage or character models was 4% and 3% respectively. 22% of players were caught using other cheats.

PUBG Mobile's ant cheat measures saw over 2 million accounts banned in a week

PUBG Mobile is set to be updated to v1.0 on September 8 and these measures might just be an indication of stricter anti-cheat measures taken by the developers. Players have been complaining of cheaters in the game for quite a while and although all cheaters may not have been caught this week, the move should surely still be welcomed by all. Players are also encouraged to report cheating whenever possible.

Cheating is a major issue in multiplayer games like PUBG Mobile. Even other games like Garena Free Fire have issues with hackers. We reached out to Free Fire a few months ago to discuss the problem as well as the steps taken by them to control it. You can read about that here.

PUBG Mobile’s v1.0 update will be one of the biggest updates for the game. It will not only introduce better graphics, but will also feature an overhauled UI and lobby. It will also come with a new version of Erangel that will feature new layouts and additions. You can read about there here.

AMD launches the Radeon RX 5300 3GB entry-level RDNA graphics card without fanfare

AMD has launched the Radeon RX 5300 graphics card for the entry-level segment based on the same RDNA microarchitecture that powers their RX 5000 series including the RX 5700 XT, RX 5700, RX 5600 XT, RX 5600 and RX 5500 XT. The Radeon RX 5300 is expected to be priced around INR 13000-15000 since it's supposed to compete against the NVIDIA GTX 1650 and its overclocked variants. The RX 5300 was launched silently without any fanfare and all we know comes from a product page on AMD's website. This is not the RX 5300M mobile variant that was launched in November 2019.

AMD Radeon RX 5300 Graphics card specifications

The AMD RX 5300 graphics card has the same core configuration as the Radeon RX 5500 XT but features lower clock speeds and a narrower memory bus. It also ships with just 3GB of GDDR6 VRAM which is lesser than what the competing NVIDIA GTX 1650 ships with by 1 GB. However, the NVIDIA cards use GDDR5 memory whereas AMD uses GDDR6. the memory bandwidth of the 1650 GDDR5 variant is 128 GB/s whereas the RX 5300 has a memory bandwith of 168 GB/s. NVIDIA also launched a GDDR6 variant of the GTX 1650 earlier this year which has a memory bandwidth of 192 GB/s. The faster memory on the RX 5300 will help overcome the lower capacity, however, the extent of its impact can only be determined once the benchmarks are in.

AMD has put up a comparison on their website of the Radeon RX 5300 against the NVIDIA GTX 1650 in popular AAA video games such as Battlefield 5, Monster Hunter World, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and PUBG. All benchmarks run on the highest ingame preset at 1080p resolution shows the RX 5300 beating the GTX 1650 by a wide margin. The RX 5300 supposedly scored 86 FPS in Battlefield 5 (high), 69 FPS in Monster Hunter World (highest), 69 FPS in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (high) and 70 FPS in PUBG running on Ultra.

AMD has not shared any official pricing for the RX 5300 nor have any partner cards arrived at Indian retail stores as of writing this. We expect the pricing to be between INR 13000 - 15000 based on the segment that the RX 5300 is competing in. Once we have a better idea of the performance, we will revise our estimates.

PUBG Mobile has released a sneak peek at the new Erangel map (Erangel 2.0) that will be launching in a few weeks time. The preview was released exclusively on the Apple App Store and gives players a glimpse of what they can expect in the new map. The new version of Erangel will launch on the version 1.0 update that is scheduled to be available from September 8.

New layouts

PUBG Mobile's new Erangel 2.0 map will feature an overhauled Mylta Power

Some of the most popular locations in Erangel have been overhauled. This includes the Sosnovka Military Base, the Mansion and more. Mylta Power has a brand new layout, while Georgopol will see the addition of seven new warehouses. The developers also note that the new version of Erangel will be denser than the previous version that players have become accustomed to. It will also offer more tactical and strategic options like barricades, trenches and bombed out tanks. Some buildings will now have basements that can be further explored for loot. This will not only give players more strategic options, but also adds more depth and mystique into the history of Erangel.

New look

PUBG Mobile's new Erangel 2.0 map will offer overhauled graphics

As mentioned during their announcement a few days ago, PUBG Mobile is set to get a graphical overhaul on the v1.0 update. The new version of Erangel seems to make the most of these new additions. New smoke, explosion and particle effects add more realism to proceedings. The developers also note that “every building and patch of grass sports more realistic textures, character models benefit from new skin shading and animations, and the game’s many waterways sparkle thanks to a revamped environmental lighting system.”

The new Erangel, aka Erangel 2.0 map will be a part of PUBG Mobile’s v1.0 update called Beyond A.C.E. The update will start rolling out on September 8. Besides the new map, the game will also see major changes to graphics and the main lobby. You can know more about that here.
