Users of Xbox’s Game Pass now have something to rip and tear through as Doom Eternal comes to the game subscription service tomorrow. Doom Eternal (Review) has been hailed as one of the best games of the decade, surpassing its predecessor in every possible scenario. And, as you all know, we reported that Microsoft has purchased Zenimax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, the publishers of Doom Eternal. It would make sense for Microsoft to blow the doors of the purchase by including one of the highest-rated and critically acclaimed games to Game Pass in October.
But Microsoft isn’t done just yet. The company has also announced that EA Play will be available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members a little earlier than everyone else on November 10. In a statement on the Xbox blog, Sarah Bond, CVP, Gaming Partnerships and Ecosystem said, “Earlier this month we announced that we’ve teamed up with Electronic Arts to provide Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members an EA Play membership at no additional cost. Today I’m announcing that starting November 10, EA Play will be available on Xbox consoles, including Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and beginning in December, members with an Ultimate or PC subscription will be able to download and play games from the EA Play library on Windows 10 PCs.”.
As far as a bang for your buck subscription goes, Game Pass is pretty hard to pass up. And, as the console wars are heating up, with both Microsoft and Sony announcing the launch date and price of the Xbox Series X/S and PS5, offers like a Game Pass subscription really go a long way.
