Rockstar apologizes to fans after releasing GTA Trilogy Remaster in a broken state

Fans are furious over Rockstar after the release of the official “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition” on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. The game was released as a broken mess with many technical issues essentially degrading the gameplay to a great extent. The game includes the remastered version of GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA San Andreas.

In the latest statement, Rockstar apologized for the broken state of their latest games and acknowledged that the new game does not meet the studio’s world-famous standards. The studio is promising to release an extensive update really soon to fix all the major bugs currently plaguing the three remastered GTA titles.

Rockstar Apologizes For GTA Trilogy Remaster

Prior to the release of GTA Trilogy Remaster Definitive Edition Rockstar removed the original classic GTA titles from its online stores. After criticism from many loyal fans and a disastrous game release, Rockstar admits their short-sighted move and now plans to make the original titles available online once more.

Furthermore, anyone who buys the latest GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition will also get the classic titles absolutely free, which I personally agree is a redemptive step albeit the first one on a long road to recovery. Earlier this year, a number of high profile executives who worked on the GTA series left the studio sparking the rumour of an impending downfall.

If you’re thinking of buying the latest GTA Trilogy remaster, my personal suggestion would be to wait for the official patch to fix the major bugs before investing your hard-earned money.

As if making critically acclaimed and financially profitable games was not enough, Hideo Kojima is now looking at jumping headfirst into the world of TV and film. Kojima has been a true auteur in the world of gaming, delivering hits such as the Metal Gear Series, P.T and Death Stranding. His games have always been rather unique and always give the player something to think about. Who knows how this new venture will fare, but one thing we do know is that whatever Kojimal comes up with, it will definitely be interesting.

The announcement was made on Twitter on Monday. The company has said that it will be opening a new business division that is based in Los Angeles. The main aim, as of now, seems to be bringing the creations of Kojima to a live-action setting. In a statement to the media, Riley Russell stated, “ The team has as its charter, the goal of expanding the reach and awareness of the properties now under development at Kojima Productions, and to make them, even more, a part of our popular culture. Although we are a global organization, the new business development team will be centred in Los Angeles, CA. We are truly excited and looking forward to working with the very best entertainment talent we can, across all of the entertainment industries.”

Kojima is no stranger to the world of Hollywood and filmmaking as he’s been involved with everyone from Guillermo Del Toro to Mads Mikkelsen. So, it’s not like he’s walking into a completely unknown industry. As for what the studio will be working on first, there is no word on that as yet, but we do know that there is a Metal Gear Solid live-action film in the pipeline. What do you guys think of Kojima’s newest venture?

El Salvador plans worlds first Bitcoin city, to be powered by a Volcano and funded by Bitcoin bonds

Bitcoin fever is picking up, as El Salvador has announced plans to build the world's first "Bitcoin City". Interestingly, this city will also be funded initially by bitcoin-backed bonds. The announcement was made by the country's President, Nayib Bukele, at an event to promote cryptocurrencies in El Salvador, reports Reuters.

As per the report, the city is planned in the eastern region of La Union and would be powered by geothermal energy from a nearby volcano. Speaking to the media, he said: "Invest here and make all the money you want... This is a fully ecological city that works and is energized by a volcano."

The world's first Bitcoin city!

Further, he announced that the city will also not see any taxes, except for value-added tax (VAT) and the estimated cost of the public infrastructure of the city has been announced to be around 300,000 bitcoins. Bukele has claimed the city will be like those built by Alexander the Great, with the Bitcoin City designed to be circular in shape and feature an airport, residential and commercial areas, along with a central plaza designed to look like a bitcoin symbol from the air.

All of this will be funded by the VAT collected in the city, as the VAT would be used to build the city and also keep it functioning. This is because half of the VAT collected would be used to fund the bonds issued to build the city, while the other half would be used to pay for services such as garbage collection.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the country is putting its weight behind Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Earlier in September, El Salvador became the first country in the world to adopt bitcoin as legal tender.

Winamp is set to whip the llama once again

Winamp holds a special place in the hearts of anyone who grew up listening to music in the late 90s and early 2000s. However, as years rolled by and as compact and portable music players became more prevalent, the media players died a slow death. However, it looks like Winamp is all set to make a return in a new avatar. What that will be exactly, is not yet known.

In it’s official website, the company notes, “Something big is happening. We’re building Winamp for the next-generation. Not just updated, but totally remastered. The new Winamp connects you to your music wherever you are. It brings you closer to the artists you love. It’s home to your favourite music podcasts and radio stations.”

New Winamp: What to expect

From the sounds of it, the new Winamp might just be a platform rather than a standalone music player. This speculation stems from the fact that the company is talking about connecting with artists and listening to podcasts and radio stations. Possibly something similar to Spotify or Apple Music.

The company is also inviting solo performers, bands or labels to become a part of the new Winamp. Those who partner will get a chance to release their music to Winamp’s audience.

Those interested in checking out the new Winamp are invited to sign up to be in line for the beta. Those who sign up will get the chance to check out what the new Winamp is all about.

Of course, the bigger question is, will it still “whoop the llama’s ass?” Well, only time will tell if it will manage to complete with the established players.
