Viewsonic smart laser projectors with 4K HDR visuals and Harman Kardon speakers launched in India

Viewsonic has launched Ultra Short Throw Smart Laser Projectors - X2000B-4K and X2000L-4K in India. These offer 4K HDR images from a second-gen laser phosphor technology. This is complemented by sound from Harman Kardon speakers. Here are their price and features.

These new Viewsonic smart laser projectors are equipped with 4K Ultra HD resolution at 2,000 lumens of brightness. The underlying technology is a 0.22 ultra-short throw lens backed by 2nd generation laser phosphor technology. The projectors also support the proprietary Cinema SuperColor Technology providing 100% coverage of Rec.709 colour space.

Viewsonic claims the projectors can present a 100% screen at about a 23 cm distance from the wall. Thanks to their 60-point adjustable design, they are said to offer a proportionate projection on all surfaces, even if they are curved or spherical.

As already mentioned, the audio is delivered by a 50W Harmon Kardon speaker setup. This is aided by Dolby and DTS audio. The external audio devices can benefit from HDMI ARC support too.

Besides audio video, the devices have a USB-C port, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. You can use the former for wireless screen mirroring.

Redmi Note 12 5G to launch in India on January 5 Could retail via Flipkart

As a successor to its previous flagship, Redmi Note 11, The Redmi Note 12 5G will launch on 5th January 2023. The device has already debuted in China in October this year and as history tells us, it is expected to be launched in India with the same specifications.

The phone comes with an AMOLED display with a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout for the front camera. The volume buttons and the power button are placed on the right side of this compact device. The power button also doubles up as the fingerprint scanner as has been seen in previous Redmi phones too. Other than that, there is a rectangular camera module that has a triple camera setup up with a 48MP main sensor at the back that looks similar to the Redmi K50i. 

The charging of the phone, even though not officially revealed yet, is going to be pretty high because the Redmi Note 12 Explorer comes with a 210W charging which Xiaomi claims can achieve a full charge in 9 minutes.  

Xiaomi has also confirmed that the phone shall come powered with MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor which is the same one being used in the Realme 10 Pro which also happened to be the first curved smartphone in the segment.

This phone is said to be the slimmest Note device. 

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G India launch and price

As per the announcement by Xiaomi, there will be at least two smartphones launched by the company which are the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. 

And another piece of information on the same topic reveals that this phone shall be sold exclusively through the e-commerce website Flipkart. This was evident when a micro-site announcing the same went live on the website.

The Meta-owned company Instagram came with a similar feature where users can create their past year recap and express them in the form of reels. Users can customize their reels by using templates from popular influencers such as Badshah, Bad Bunny, DJ Khaled or Stranger Things star Priah Ferugson. The voice overs are available in Hindi, English, and Spanish.

Paytm Payments Protect: A new feature to secure digital payments on Paytm

Paytm announced a brand new feature known as Paytm Payment Protect, designed to secure online transactions in India. The feature is basically a group insurance plan that allows you to insure the transactions that have been made through your wallet or via UPI. This plan has been designed and offered in partnership with HDFC ERGO General Insurance. 

The insurance plan costs a mere ₹30 per annum and lets users secure transactions up to ₹10,000 against fraud. While this is just the first offering, it is believed that the company is all set to help users claim insurance for high-value transactions of up to ₹1,00,000 per year. 

Paytm Payment Protect protects you from fraud

According to the company, the feature is a “first-of-its-kind offering, this product is aimed to further enhance the trusted digital payments experience and increase the adoption of the same in the country.”

Speaking about the new offering, Bhavesh Gupta, CEO of Lending and Head of Payments at Paytm, said “We are offering an insurance cover with convenient claims with a vision to safeguard users and fight cybercrimes. Our partnership with HDFC ERGO is aligned with our mission of spreading financial awareness and propelling safer digital payments adoption in the country,”

This feature was announced on the heels of Paytm’s previous announcement about UPI interoperability.

OnePlus Nord Keyboard live images leaked online

OnePlus will be launching its first-ever keyboard, made in collaboration with KeyChron, in India. MySmartPrice shared live images of the device (courtesy of tipster Yogesh Brar), showing us a glimpse of what we can expect once it's out. The product will be known as the OnePlus Nord Keyboard.

The OnePlus Nord keyboard will be made of plastic and aluminium materials. It is going to be compatible with multiple operating systems such as Mac and Windows. It will come with USB Type A and Type C ports, and will also support Bluetooth 5.2.

The keyboard will be available in different colours, and will also support RBG lighting. It can be used in wireless mode, as well as wired mode, which means you can arguably get this for your tablet and turn it into a laptop when required.
