Tecno Pova 5 Pro could feature LED strips on back panel

It looks like the new Tecno Pova 5 Pro might have a similar design like the Nothing Phone 2. That is LED lights for notifications alert. We are expecting the Tecno Pova 5 Pro to be released soon. A leaked video shows that there’s going to be RGB LED lights on the rear panel of the phone. It looks quite similar to the Glyph Interface on the Nothing Phone (1).

The Tecno Pova 5 was recently launched in the global market. It sports a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 SoC and is powered with 6,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 10W reverse charging support.

On Twitter, Tipster Ishan Aggarwal shared a video that showed the upcoming Tecno Pova 5 in action. This video showed the Tecno Pova 5 Pro having the RGB LED light strips on the back panel. But a point to be noted here is that the Nothing phone just had white light but this Tecno phone will have RGB lights. It is placed next to the camera module in the top left corner of the phone.

Realme C53

Realme recently confirmed the camera specs of the smartphone. The Realme C53 is going to feature a 108-megapixel primary camera on the back. This smartphone will be the first in the country to launch with a 108-megapixel sensor in this segment, Realme said. It is also confirmed that Realme C53 will pack a 5000mAh battery with 18-watt fast charging support.

The specifications of Realme C53 are not out yet but since the smartphone was already launched in Malaysia with some camera variations we can have an idea. It was launched with a Unisoc Tiger T612 chipset. It features a 6.74-inch FullHD+ LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate.

Realme C53

In Malaysia, Realme has launched the Realme C53 at 599MYR, which is approximately ₹10,000, targeting the ₹15,000 price segment. The device boasts an impressive camera lens considering its price range but unfortunately the back panel design lacks creativity, as it closely resembles the camera module of iPhones. Moreover, the third ring in the camera module is not even a sensor, basically a flashlight which looks like a sensor, I mean why? Let us know in the  comments what you think about this smartphone.

OnePlus 12 seems to be sticking to the script with design and launch timeline

OnePlus 12 could launch around the same time as the OnePlus 11. So, it won’t just be sharing the design language with the predecessor but could be bringing more similarities.

OnePlus 12 launch date

OnePlus 12 is tipped to launch in China in December 2023 but see the daylight in the global markets in February next year. The tip comes from leakster Yogesh Brar. This corroborates what another tipster named Max Jambor also claimed the phone could debut in December.

If you recall, the OnePlus 11 had also launched in India on February 8, 2023.

Another similarity between the two devices is their design language. Like the former, the new OnePlus phone could also have a round camera island which will be connected to the side frame.

However as per the source of these renders OnLeaks (via Smartprix), the camera arrangement might seem some change. One of these could be a periscopic telephoto lens that helps to zoom farther than a regular telephoto camera would allow.

Also Read: OnePlus 12 leaks hint at major camera improvements, check specs details

Another arrangement that has changed is how the selfie camera has been moved from the top left corner to the centre.

The screen itself is supposedly a 120Hz 6.7-inch 2K panel. The battery size is also said to be a 5000mAh cell, the same as the precursor.

So far things seem a lot similar. But, being a new device, it would bring some changes too.

OnePlus 12 specs: What could be different?

The wired charging speed could be faster at 150W but the wireless charging is said to be slower at 50W.

The underlying processor could be updated to date with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The camera setup could also see an upgrade: a 50MP IMX9-series primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP Omnivision OV64B periscope telephoto shooter.

WhatsApp a stranger without saving their contact is now easier than ever

WhatsApp’s new feature lets you natively chat with strangers and potential contacts. Although this was previously possible, the new solution comes inbuilt in the app. So, chatting with unsaved contacts becomes easier. Here’s how it works.

Open unknown chats on WhatsApp

Unlike 3rd party apps or solutions using the official click-to-chat APIs (like the iOS Shortcut named WhatsApp Unsaved Number), this method is built into the app and so it should work more seamlessly and reliably. Needless to say, it should be easier to use and more people are likely to use it for all these reasons.

All you have to do is to search for the unsaved contact number in the WhatsApp for Android search bar and the app will let you tap on it and start chatting right away. On iOS, you will have to click on the chat button in the top right corner. Then in the search bar you see on the subsequent screen, type the unknown number. You will see a message “Looking outside your contacts”. The contact displays with a chat option, clicking which you can start the conversation.

WhatsApp

It is working on our iPhone and to try it, please ensure you have the latest WhatsApp version on your phone. Check if there’s any new WhatsApp update on the app store of your device.

This is a nifty little feature that we are delighted to have. Here are some use cases of it.

How WhatsApp's unsaved contacts chat feature can be useful

WhatsApp

1. You don’t have to go through the hassle of saving the stranger’s number.

2. Even if you save it, you may forget to delete it later. So, your contacts book gets filled with junk contacts. Many a time, you may need to save the number for one-time use.

This negates that problem as now you can chat without saving the number.

Also Read: WhatsApp multi-account update will negate the need to carry two phones

3. Some occasions wherein this could be of use include you saving a waiter/server’s number to reserve a table and have discussions around that. You may want to talk to a courier/delivery guy but not save his/her number. In some cases when you don’t know the name of the person or know how it is pronounced, you would find this helpful. You may also find it useful to chat with a stranger you met on a trip.

There may be more use cases for this and in any case, we are happy to finally have this feature.
