BGMI releases fix to help players claim Mirror World Lobby Theme

Krafton has released a fix for a bug that affected players after the 1.7 update. The bug in question is an issue wherein players were not able to claim the Mirror World Lobby Theme. With the new fix, this issue should be resolved and players will be able to check it out. In order to claim the Mirror World Lobby Theme, players need to head on over to the Recommended Event Center.

BGMI 1.7 update

The Mirror World Theme was added as part of the 1.7 update for BGMI that rolled out a few days back. The theme is a part of the game’s collaboration with the League of Legends Arcane animated series on Netflix. This part of this, a Mirror Island will now appear in the sky after some time. Players will be able to enter this island by using the Wind Wall on the ground. When they enter the mode, the player’s character will transform into one of four legends from the League of Legends Arcane animated series. This includes Jinx, Vi, Jayce and Caitlyn. Players can then kill a monster on Mirror Island with the character’s weapons and skills.

Players will also get Hexcrystals as a reward when they kill a monster. These can then be exchanged for a battle item. Once the character is dead or the playtime on the Mirror Island is done, players will return to the normal map.

There is also another crossover with Liverpool FC. Players can partake in a number of events featuring the football team. This includes Event sections such as You’ll Never Walk Alone that offer rewards like the Liverpool FC parachute, the Liverpool FC backpack and the Liverpool FC jersey.

The update also added a bunch of new gameplay features. One notable new addition is the introduction of a piggyback feature in the game’s Classic mode. Now, players can carry any downed teammate or enemy. It should be noted that when carrying a player, the player's movement speed will be reduced and they won’t be able to use any items or board vehicles. Further, the downed player’s HP will continue to decrease when carried.

Krafton working on ways to curb hacking in PUBG: New State

PUBG: New State is barely a few weeks old, but it looks like it's already dealing with its own fair share of hackers and cheaters. In a post on its official website, Krafton Inc acknowledged the presence of cheaters and noted that it will be doing its bit to ensure a fair playing environment.

“We have found a steep increase in the usage of unauthorized 3rd party programs during the weekend of November 20-22. We fully acknowledge the severity of the situation and understand the frustration and disappointment that the vast majority of Survivors will be feeling due to this increase and will vigorously continue to roll out updates and introduce new and improved measures in order to enhance our anti-cheat systems,” the company noted in the post.

PUBG: New State - Curtailing hackers

In order to curtail the hackers, the developers noted that the game went into maintenance on November 23 in order to apply certain changes. This included enhanced measures to detect the use of third-party programs. This would be able to do so in real-time. Not only that, but the developers also secured potential weaknesses that could be exploited. This could lead to the creation of unauthorized third-party programs.

Krafton notes that it increased the severity of restrictions imposed on users of such programs. The developers further noted that additional updates will be added next week to detect and restrict the use of unauthorised programs.

PUBG: New State was launched globally on November 11. The game is set in the year 2051 where the world is gripped in anarchy, leading to the emergence of factions. The game deploys 100 people on the new battleground called Troi. This is an 8km x 8km map that is filled with advanced weaponry and tactical support like drone calls, vehicles and new in-game mechanics. The PUBG New State also has realistic graphics with the introduction of global illumination technology making it better than all the other previous titles in the PUBG franchise in terms of graphical quality.

Metaverse News: Virtual real estate is as valuable as physical real estate

Now that we’re getting closer to a reality where virtual lives can be as rich as ‘real’ ones, virtual real estate is, for lack of a better term, poppin’ off the charts. Recently, a plot of land in Decentraland (which is an online world) sold for a cool USD 2.4 million (or Rs 17 Crore ). Decentraland is a world where you can walk around, interact with other people’s avatars, visit buildings, and presumably live your entire life as the technology continues to evolve. With Facebook developing haptic sensors that will let you feel items you touch in the metaverse, the next phase of human colonisation may not be Mars - it might just be the internet.

Metaverse News: Virtual real estate is as valuable as physical real estate

Why are people buying land in Decentraland?

Of course, we’re still a bit further away from Ready Player One becoming a reality. As of now, people are buying land in this virtual world as a speculative investment. The parcel of land that sold for USD 2.4 million was purchased by the Metaverse Group, a subsidiary of Tokens.com. It has been purchased in an area called Fashion Street, where one can attend digital fashion events and buy clothes for one’s avatars.

This isn’t the first time virtual real estate has been sold in Decentraland - in June, a buyer purchased a plot of land with the intention to build a shopping mall. This was priced at around USD $913,228 (roughly Rs. 6.7 crore).

What is Decentraland? What is Decentraland?

Land and other investment assets are sold in the form of Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and fall under the umbrella of crypto assets, making them a worthwhile investment particularly now that Meta has plans to speed up the creation of the Metaverse. MANA, which is the digital currency used in Decentraland, however, is rather volatile when compared to other cryptocurrency coins, and may suit investors with a high risk appetite.
