Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra India pricing, availability details revealed

Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra have officially launched in India, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The trio were unveiled earlier this month and today Samsung India has revealed the India pricing and availability details. This time Samsung is bringing Qualcomm SoC powered S22 series to India instead of the Exynos 2200 versions which is a great sigh of relief for fans. Here are the India prices of the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra along with availability details.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is priced starting at Rs 72,999 while the Samsung Galaxy S22+ starts at Rs 84,999 in India. Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is priced starting at Rs 1,09,999.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Specs and Features

The Samsung Galaxy S22 features a 6.1-inch AMOLED display that offers Full HD+ resolution with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and is certified for HDR10+ playback. Meanwhile, the S22+ has a larger 6.6-inch AMOLED display which is brighter with the same Full HD+ resolution and HDR10+ certification. As for the S22 Ultra, it has a 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED LTPO display with upto 120Hz refresh rate support. All three phones have Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset instead of the Exynos 2200. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ have a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, meanwhile, has a 108MP primary camera, a 10MP periscope telephoto lens, a 10MP telephoto camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera.

The battery size varies from 5000mAh on the Galaxy S22 Ultra to 4500mAh on the Galaxy S22 Plus, and 3700mAh battery on the standard Galaxy S22.

Garmin Fenix 7, Fenix 7X, and Epix series of smartwatches launched in India with Real-time Stamina feature

Garmin has unveiled the Fenix 7 and Fenix 7X series of smartwatches in India. There are four new variants called the Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Solar, Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar, and Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar. These watches come with features such as a real-time stamina function, a health snapshot, Visual Race Predictor, Recovery Time Advisor, and support for leading streaming platforms like Spotify and Amazon Music. You also get the ability to track 40 sports modes, HIIT workouts, health parameters like heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, etc. We will unpack what some of those new features entail.

But first, let’s go through the pricing and sale details.

Garmin Fenix 7 and Fenix 7X series Price and Availability

The Garmin Fenix 7 is priced at ₹67,990, the Fenix 7 Solar at ₹82,990, Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar at ₹93,990, Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar at ₹98,990/onwards and lastly, the Epix model at ₹89,9990/onwards. They are available through all leading stores like Amazon, Flipakrt, Tata CLiq, Decathlon, Garmin's own website, and more starting February 17, 2022.

The Garmin Fenix 7X is bigger and bulkier than the Fenix 7 series. The Fenix 7X rocks a 1.4-inch screen with 280x280 pixel resolution while the Fenix 7 models have got a 1.3-inch 260x260 pixel screen. They are of MIP (Memory in Pixel) nature with claims of good sunlight visibility and low power consumption.

Speaking of power too, the Fenix 7X assures more battery life than the Fenix 7 watches. You can glean the runtime claims down below in the specs table.

You get to keep tabs on 40 advanced sports modes, HIIT workouts, and stuff like heart rate, SpO2, stress, etc. 

The new goodies introduced with the Fenix 7 lineup are: 

Real-time Stamina tells your present stamina so that you can adjust your efforts accordingly.  Built-in LED flashlight (on the Fenix 7X) Power Sapphire display with Solar charging lens for more strength and legibility. Multi-band GPS and built-in sensors for 3-axis compass, gyroscope, and barometric altimeter. Visual Race Predictor analyzes your running history and presents an estimate for future races. Health Snapshot takes two minutes of your time to record key health parameters and then create a report based on that. Recovery Time Advisor and  Daily Workout Suggestions are also present, which are self-explanatory.

Among the list of things, you also get regular smartphone notifications, animated workout guidance, and support for the company’s Garmin Connect app.

The Fenix 7 watches are made of fiber-reinforced polymer with a metal cover at the back. They are rated for 10ATM water resistance as well as MIL-STD-801G for overall durability.

Today, the company also released its Epix smartwatch that has got AMOLED touch screen with Sapphire crystal lens, a similar range of smarts and utilities as the Fenix 7 range of watches, along with up-to 16 days and 42 hours in GPS mode and up to 21 days whilst in the Power Manager mode.

Google Chrome OS Flex announced, aims to turn older PCs and Macs into Chromebooks

Google, in their blog post, announced the new version of Chrome OS for older PC & Mac users. The new version is called Chrome OS Flex. The operating system is best designed for businesses and schools. The new version is free and very easy to install, as mentioned in the blog post. The new version is similar to the Google Chrome OS as they are created from the same base code and follows the same release cadence. 

Chrome OS Flex: Features 

Chrome OS Flex carries some of the similar features as Chrome OS which includes background system updates, access to  Web apps, and Android phone notification syncing. The new operating system boots up quickly and also offers security with sandboxing and protection against viruses, ransomware, and phishing. With Chrome OS Flex, users will be able to access the official Chrome browser and Google Assistant. But they will not have access to the Google Play store.

Google Chrome OS Flex announced

As long as you have a compatible Mac or PC, you can install the early version of the new Chrome OS Flex with a few quick steps using a USB drive. Make sure to verify if your device is included in the certified model's list and fill out a form before downloading the new operating system.

Steps to install the new OS On your Windows, macOS, or Chrome OS, visit the Chrome web store. Look for 'Chromebook Recovery Utility' and download the extension. Launch the Chromebook Recovery Utility extension, click On ‘Get Started’. Choose From 'Select a model from a list', 'Select a manufacturer' or 'Select a product'. Now click on 'Continue'. Next, insert your USB device when you're prompted to do so. Finally, select your USB device from the menu and click on 'Continue', then click 'Create Now'. Users can now download Chrome OS Flex onto their system and opt to install the new OS permanently

How to install Chrome OS Flex on Mac or Windows

Do note that the OS is in early access, so you may experience some bugs or glitches along the way. The stable version should be available in a few months. Google also stated that CloudReady customers can upgrade to Chrome OS for no extra charge.

Realme 9 Pro with Snapdragon 695 and Realme 9 Pro Plus with MediaTek Dimensity 920 launched in India

Realme has introduced two new phones into the Realme 9 series, namely, the Realme 9 Pro and the Realme 9 Pro Plus. Both phones have some significant differences between them like their display, chipset, and battery, among other things. The Realme 9 Pro sports a 120Hz display while the Realme 9 Pro+ has only a 90Hz screen. Similarly, the Realme Pro has a 5000mAh battery while the Realme 9 Pro Plus has a smaller 4500mAh cell. Although not a similar case, the chip at the core is a Snapdragon 695 on the Pro model and Dimensity 920 on the Pro+ one.

Realme 9 Pro series: Specs and Features

Realme 9 Pro’s front is a 6.6-inch sAMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Realme 9 Pro series: Price and Availability

Realme 9 Pro+ is priced at ₹24,999 for the 6+128GB, ₹26,999 for the 8+128GB, and ₹28,999 for the 8+256GB model. The first sale will be from February 21 at 12 noon through Flipkart and other stores. There is also a special Flipkart Smart Upgrade program through which the phone's prices gets slashed down further. 

Realme 9 Pro is priced at ₹17,999 for the 6+128GB and ₹20,999 for the 8+128GB variant. Do note that these are introductory price at which the phones will be available on February 23 at 12 noon via Flipkart and other outlets.
