Those of you who chose the Nokia 6.1 Plus because you believed in the Android One programme, rejoice! Nokia is rolling out the ninth and latest version of Android to 6.1 Plus smartphones. Users of the smartphone should receive a notification about the 1.3GB over-the-air update anytime now. News about the update comes from a tweet sent out a couple of days ago by Juho Sarvikas, HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer. Apart from the feature changes Android 9 Pie brings inherently, like adaptive battery, integrated Google Lens, and the new pill-based navigation, there’s no word on what Nokia-added features the update brings. Though Android 9 Pie comes with native notch support, we are yet to confirm if the update on the Nokia 6.1 Plus has it, because the feature to toggle the notch on and off was removed in an earlier update. Another day. Another update. Happy to announce that the Nokia 6.1 Plus now runs on Android 9 Pie #Nokiamobile #AndroidOne

Blizzard announces Diablo Immortal mobile game for iOS, Android
Blizzard has announced that it will be launching a new mobile game under its Diablo series. Called Diablo Immortal, the game was announced at the company’s annual convention, Blizzcon. The game will be available on iOS and Android and is currently up for pre-registration. However, the developer has not yet releaved when the game will be available for download. The game will be a MMOARPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Action Role Playing Game) and as such, players can expect to meet other players during their gameplay. They can then team up and explore together if they want. Diablo Immortal will allow players the option to choose between six classes. These include the Barbarian, Monk, Wizard, Crusader, Demon Hunter, and Necromancer. Each class has a set of 12 or more skills. While the exact number of skills varies depending on class, players will be able to choose 5 skills that they can assign to an active skill button. Samsung Galaxy A9 with quad-camera setup to launch in India very soon, price revealed
It appears Samsung is poised to launch the new Galaxy A9 smartphone in the Indian market. Its product page for India is already live and shows the smartphone’s unique camera setup in a teaser image. Launched last month in Kuala Lumpur at a Samsung smartphone event, the Galaxy A9 comes with a quad-camera setup on the back with varying lenses. Vertically stacked, the rear camera setup includes an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto lens, a regular lens, and a depth sensor. It also includes a single LED flash. By digging into the source code of the product page, Mobigyaan was able to discover the price of the Galaxy A9. It is expected to be around Rs 39,000 at the time of launch. Apart from the freaky four-camera setup, the Samsung Galaxy A9 features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect of 18:9. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with an octa-core processor, where four cores are clocked 2.20GHz and the rest are low-powered ones clocked at 1.80GHz. The battery on the smartphone is a 3,800mAh unit that supports fast charging. Though the Samsung Galaxy A9 is available in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants in many countries, only the former is expected to make it to India. Internal storage capacity is 128GB. External storage using a microSD card is supported up to a maximum of 512GB. The Galaxy A9 also features Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack. In addition, the smartphone is expected to bring Samsung’s proprietary features like the Bixby virtual assistant, Samsung Health, and Samsung Pay. When launched, the Samsung Galaxy A9 is expected to be sold in three colours: Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink. The Galaxy A9 has no confirmed date of launch yet but according to numerous sources, it is scheduled to launch on November 4. Samsung and many other phone makers out there in the industry seem to be in a race to add more cameras to the back of their smartphones, but only a full-blown review will tell us how much of a difference the number makes to everyday photography.

MediaTek to launch 5G chipset next year: Report
MediaTek is planning to launch a 5G chipset sometime in 2019. According to a report by GizChina, the company’s CEO, Cai Lixing said that the Helio M70 5G baseband chip will be launched in the first half of next year. It should be noted that the M70 will just be the modem, and not the entire chipset. The 5G-enabled SoC should be announced sometime around the end of the year. So, one can expect smartphone powered by the new chipset only around 2020. The report adds that the company will be investing more resources in 5G. Lixing added that MediaTek’s 5G chip architecture is quite clear and fully utilized. It looks like 5G availability is just around the corner. Red OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones to come to India soon
Launched along with the OnePlus 6 earlier this year, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones have been around for a while now and have impressed us during the review. However, they were available only in a single colour all along: black. The second colour option of red was always unavailable. Now, OnePlus has listed the red colour option as well on its product page for the same price of Rs 3,990. At the moment, both colour options of the OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones are marked ‘Coming soon’ on OnePlus’ website. There’s no mention of an availability date anywhere in the website. The Bullets Wireless earphones with the new colour option retain the red ring and the black body around the earbuds to distinguish the brand but feature bright red cords. It’s sure to draw a crowd of customers. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones use Bluetooth 4.1 to connect to smartphones wirelessly up to a range of about 9 metres. They have support for Qualcomm’s aptX HD audio codec, which delivers high-definition audio at 576 kilobits per second. Though they’re not completely water-resistant, OnePlus says you can “take them for a run”, which means the Bullets are, at the least, sweat-resistant. The Bullets Wireless earphones deliver a battery life of about 7.5 hours on a single charge and claim to gain back 80 percent charge in ten minutes when a OnePlus smartphone charger is plugged in. There’s no word yet on when the new colour option on the OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones will be available, but it is expected to come out within a month’s time.
