Xiaomi Poco F1 gets 4K 60fps video recording support with latest MIUI beta

Highlights: Xiaomi Poco F1, Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro get 4K 60fps video recording support The support is being rolled out in the latest MIUI beta update Poco F1 recently got the Widevine L1 certificate via a MIUI Beta OTA update   The Poco F1 has got a beta version update of the company’s firmware MIUI update that has brought 4K 60fps video recording support to the device. Apart from Poco F1, the Chinese tech company’s last year’s flagships, the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, are also getting the ability to record videos in 4K 60fps. The beta update comes a month after Poco India General Manager C Manmohan had announced on Twitter that “...4K 60 FPS will be rolling it out in the stable update in February.” Reportedly, this particular update started to roll out on March 1. The news comes a few days after the Poco F1 received the Widevine L1 certificate via a MIUI Beta OTA update. With the Widevine L1 certification, Poco F1 users will be able to stream premium content in HD resolution. However, even after the update, the users will not be able to stream HD content Netflix because only the certification for streaming HD content on Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar is being rolled out. C.Manmohan had revealed the news of the update via a Tweet. The certification is being rolled out via a MIUI Beta update to Poco F1 users who have signed up for the Beta program. Poco says that it will be released for all the users once the beta testing of the feature is complete. Presently, the Poco F1 has Widevine L3 which only allows streaming in 540p on Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. In January, the MIUI 10 2.2.0 update brought 960fps slo-mo video recording, alongside 120fps and 240fps slo-mo videos, low-light mode and bug fixes. The update also brings enhanced low-light mode to improve photos taken in the dark. The low-light mode takes eight images in different exposures and merges them into one for a brighter, more sharp shot. The feature was reportedly in testing a month before it was rolled out to users. Vivo announced a gaming smartphone with the specs maxed out.  We’re talking a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, 44W fast charging and a triple camera setup. Tesla Model 3s new entry-level variant launched in the US at 35,000

Highlights: The Tesla Model 3 gets a new low-end variant in the US It costs $35,000 (Rs 25 lakh approx)   Tesla’s Model 3 has a new entry-level variant in the US and it costs $35,000 (Rs 25 lakh approx). Through a blog post, Tesla announced that the new much-awaited Standard Model 3 would have a range of 220 miles (354 kilometres), a top speed of 130 miles per hour (209 kilometres per hour), and take 5.6 seconds to go from 0–60 miles per hour (0–100 kilometres per hour). In addition, Tesla announced a Standard Range Plus variant for $37,000 (Rs 26 lakh), which increases the car’s range by 20 miles (32 kilometres). “To achieve these prices while remaining financially sustainable, Tesla is shifting sales worldwide to online only. You can now buy a Tesla in North America via your phone in about 1 minute, and that capability will soon be extended worldwide. We are also making it much easier to try out and return a Tesla, so that a test drive prior to purchase isn’t needed. You can now return a car within 7 days or 1,000 miles for a full refund. Quite literally, you could buy a Tesla, drive several hundred miles for a weekend road trip with friends and then return it for free,” writes Tesla confidently in its blog. The Model 3 was originally announced in 2008 but finally went on sale in the US in 2017. The Elon Musk-owned company sells the Model 3 as a compact four-door electric sedan. The new Standard variant is powered by a 50 kWh battery that supports both AC and DC charging. The car’s 18-inch rear wheels are powered by a single electric motor. The Model 3 uses Tesla’s proprietary Autopilot software, which is capable of navigating the car automatically in some situations. In addition, the car is capable of parking itself automatically. Aside from the Model 3, Tesla is planning to build an electric SUV called Model Y in Shanghai and launch it in 2020. While introducing the Model 3 is perhaps Tesla’s best bet if it decides to set up shop in India, there’s no definite information on whether it will happen yet. Though the Model 3 costs a reasonable $35,000 (Rs 25 lakh) in the US, it won’t cost the same if it is imported to India. We’ll just have to wait and see if Tesla is considering India as a serious market for the sale of its electric car range.   Related Read: Porsche Macan to go fully electric
