OnePlus 7 leaked in renders and detailed video with motorised pop-up selfie camera, triple rear cameras, and a bezel-less display

Highlights: The leaked images and video come from leakster Steve H.McFly or @OnLeaks. The leaked OnePlus 7 is seen with a pop-up selfie camera. The smartphone has three cameras at the back.   The OnePlus 7 is slated to launch sometime in Q2 2019, which is basically on the lines of OnePlus’ six-monthly refresh cycle for its flagship smartphones. If what we heard along the sidelines of MWC 2019, the OnePlus 7 could launch alongside a 5G OnePlus device, which the company has promised several times over since December last year. In fact, OnePlus also had a prototype of its 5G smartphone present on the MWC showfloor this year, showcasing low-latency cloud gaming on a functioning 5G network provided over Ericsson’s network technology. Now, in a full fledged render leak, the OnePlus 7 has been detailed to the tee, at least in terms of its design. The next “flagship killer” from OnePlus, the OnePlus 7 has been outed by popular tipster OnLeaks in collaboration with PriceBaba. OnLeaks is known for his accurate smartphone leaks and in this one of the OnePlus 7, the tipster has confirmed what was rumoured for a while now - pop-up selfie camera. Yes, OnePlus seems to have borrowed from its sister brands Oppo and Vivo to create its first smartphone with the pop-up selfie design in the form of the OnePlus 7. The leaked images and video of the alleged OnePlus 7 show that the smartphone comes bearing a 6.5-inch display which curves towards the edges. We expect this to be an Optic AMOLED display that also appeared on the OnePlus 6T. There is no notch or pin-hole on the screen, instead the a motorised front-facing camera pops out from an enclosure on top of the display. At the back, three cameras are aligned vertically on the top-middle portion of the phone, with an LED flash resting underneath them. There are no details available on the camera specs of the smartphone. The volume buttons can be spotted on the left edge of the OnePlus 7, while a power button and alert slider are placed on the right edge. The leaked information suggests that there could be an in-display fingerprint scanner on the OnePlus 7, just like the OnePlus 6T. Further, there is no sign of a headphone jack on the leaked OnePlus 7 and it is seen with a standard USB Type-C port. Then again, we weren’t really expecting OnePlus to have a change of heart on that one. Just besides the Type-C port, the OnePlus 7 houses the speaker grille and microphone.   So... To celebrate my fourth Twitter Anniversary as @OnLeaks and start 2019 leaks season, here comes a lil gift as your very first look at the #OnePlus7! 360° video + gorgeous 5K renders + dimensions, on behalf of my Friends over @Pricebaba -> https://t.co/gj5eHbiB25 pic.twitter.com/7oNyF9jgG0 — Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks) March 3, 2019   This is the second time the OnePlus 7 has leaked in the past two days. The previous OnePlus 7 leak was compiled by Chinese tipster @Steven_Sbw who revealed the phone’s front panel. The leaked image showed the display of the OnePlus 7 without a notch or a punch hole camera. This is when it was first hinted that the phone could have a pop-up camera similar to the Vivo Nex and the Oppo Find X, given that all three smartphone makers - Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus are under the same mothership - BBK Electronics.

You can enable Dark Mode in Facebook Messenger by sending crescent moon emoji

Highlights: You can get Dark Mode in Facebook Messenger by sending crescent moon emoji in Messenger. The company is putting “finishing touches” on the mode.   A native Dark Mode in an app has gained a lot of popularity lately. Several leading apps like Google's Android Messenger, have already got a dark mode while some have been reported to be working on the same. Facebook Messenger, for example, is one such app for which people have been requesting a Dark Mode. The company hasn’t implemented the mode but those who want to get a black UI instead on the current white and blue interface, can reportedly do it by sending a moon emoji. Spotted on Reddit, the process of getting the native Dark Mode is easy and, unlike previous methods, it does not require the phone to be rooted. Reportedly, there is an easter egg in Facebook Messenger, according to which, you have send a crescent moon emoji to anyone in chat in Messenger. As soon as you send the emoji, a lot of crescent moons will start dropping from the top. After that, exit out of the app completely, enter back again and you will see the dark mode toggle pop up on the Settings screen. Of course it sounds silly, but Digit can confirm it works. The mention of Dark Mode has been hogging a lot of limelight in the media corridors. One of the advantage of this mode is power saving. The mode essentially turns off display pixels and as a result, much less battery is consumed. In January, Facebook Messenger was reported to be working on a dark mode. Well-known tipster Jane Manchun Wong posted a screenshot on Twitter which showed that the company was putting the “finishing touches” to the feature. WhatsApp, another instant messaging app owned by Facebook, is also reportedly working on new ‘Dark Mode’ for Android and iOS. The development was first reported by famous WhatsApp watcher WABetaInfo. PUBG Mobile gets digital lock as parental control to curb violence among minors

Highlights: Tencent games introduces "digital lock" on PUBG Mobile Move is seen as a step to curb violence among kids   In a response to incidents of violence and tragedy, Tencent Games has imposed a parental control to curb the alleged “gaming addiction and cyber bullying” promoted by PUBG Mobile. The game developer has introduced a “digital lock” on some games that requires players under the age of 13 years to ask their guardians to open. Reportedly, this restriction will be piloted for the Chinese versions of PUBG Mobile as well as the Honor of Kings. The development is a part of a government crackdown on youth gaming addiction “that has cast a cloud over the company's biggest revenue source,” a media report said. Last year, the Chinese government had announced a few controls on the number of games that can be played online, and imposed rules on underage players to reduce their screen time. The restrictions were justified as a way to counter worsening near-sightedness among minors. Not only in China, people in India have also been seeking a ban on PUBG Mobile as parents and govt officials in India consider it addictive in nature. They have alleged that the game is causing problems for children and affecting their studies. Moreover, Delhi Commission For Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) had issued an advisory to the Directorate Of Education (DOE) and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools to be wary and protect children from the harmful effects of games that are “full of misogyny, hate, deceit and vengeance…” Earlier this year, the game was banned from primary schools in Gujarat and an 11-year old kid sought the same treatment in Maharashtra from the state government. The reportedly sent a letter saying it to be an open “appeal to forthwith ban online game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds [PUBG] as it promotes immoral conduct such as violence, murder, aggression, looting, gaming addiction and cyber bullying”. He also threatened that if the game is not banned he “will be compelled to seek appropriate legal [civil and criminal] proceeding as per law; naturally at your cost and consequences.” In another incident, a 19-year old boy hung himself to death after his family refused to buy him a Rs 37,000 phone to play PUBG Mobile. The mobile version of the game has over 30 million daily active players. Related Read: PUBG Mobile developers promise 'healthy and balanced' gaming environment in response to ban demands in India

Xiaomi Poco F1 gets 4K 60fps video recording support with latest MIUI beta

Highlights: Xiaomi Poco F1, Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro get 4K 60fps video recording support The support is being rolled out in the latest MIUI beta update Poco F1 recently got the Widevine L1 certificate via a MIUI Beta OTA update   The Poco F1 has got a beta version update of the company’s firmware MIUI update that has brought 4K 60fps video recording support to the device. Apart from Poco F1, the Chinese tech company’s last year’s flagships, the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, are also getting the ability to record videos in 4K 60fps. The beta update comes a month after Poco India General Manager C Manmohan had announced on Twitter that “...4K 60 FPS will be rolling it out in the stable update in February.” Reportedly, this particular update started to roll out on March 1. The news comes a few days after the Poco F1 received the Widevine L1 certificate via a MIUI Beta OTA update. With the Widevine L1 certification, Poco F1 users will be able to stream premium content in HD resolution. However, even after the update, the users will not be able to stream HD content Netflix because only the certification for streaming HD content on Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar is being rolled out. C.Manmohan had revealed the news of the update via a Tweet. The certification is being rolled out via a MIUI Beta update to Poco F1 users who have signed up for the Beta program. Poco says that it will be released for all the users once the beta testing of the feature is complete. Presently, the Poco F1 has Widevine L3 which only allows streaming in 540p on Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. In January, the MIUI 10 2.2.0 update brought 960fps slo-mo video recording, alongside 120fps and 240fps slo-mo videos, low-light mode and bug fixes. The update also brings enhanced low-light mode to improve photos taken in the dark. The low-light mode takes eight images in different exposures and merges them into one for a brighter, more sharp shot. The feature was reportedly in testing a month before it was rolled out to users.
