Apple Card being distributed to employees: Heres what it looks like

Apple employees have started getting the Apple Card, a credit card that the Cupertino-based company launched earlier this year. Notable tipster, Ben Geskin has shared some images of the card on Twitter, however, he replaced the name of the Apple employees protect their identity. The packaging shows “Wake iPhone and hold here,” indicating the instructions to pair the card with an iPhone.

According to 9to5Mac, when a customer receives an Apple Card, it is delivered in a packaging that includes a hidden NFC tag. To activate the card, users need to open the Wallet app and hold their iPhones near the NFC tag embedded in the Apple Card packaging. This associates the digital Apple Card credit card, which is already set up in the Wallet app and is protected by Apple’s suite of biometric authentication, with the physical one.

Othe informatiion revealed by the leak suggest that the phone might be available in Nebula Purple, Dark Black, and Morning White colours.

As per the report, the Oppo K3 features a 6.5-inch display that is said to deliver a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels. Instagram testing stickers with song lyrics in Stories: Report

Instagram is reportedly testing a Sticker feature that will show the lyrics to the song playing in the background of a Story. This new feature was detected by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, who demonstrated its working in a tweet. In the GIF image shared on Twitter, a short music video from Rick Ashley's “Never Gonna Give You Up” can be seen playing alongside its lyrics in a Story. Still in development, the information about the feature first surfaced in April. The are no details about which regions will get the feature.

The feature adds to the ‘Music Sticker’ that was launched in June last year. It enables users to add soundtracks to their Stories. To add music, users will have to select the music icon located under 'stickers'. once selected, users will be given an option to add a specific song to their Story. Instagram notes that it has a “library of thousands of songs” from which users can choose music, with more music being added to the library every day.

Instagram added an additional Lyrics Sticker style. The sticker is now more synchronized with the lyrics. previously: https://t.co/ACx4SqYPhl pic.twitter.com/GSFq8NcFnX

The users can also search and select a specific song depending upon the mood of the story or what is popular. There is also an option to preview listen a track by tapping the ‘Play’ icon that is right next to it. After selecting a song, users can even fast-forward or rewind through the track to choose the exact part that fits the Story. When people are watching their stories, they will hear the song playing as they are viewing a photo or video. They will also see a sticker showing the song title and artist name.

The feature is not available in India yet so it is likely that when the lyrics feature rolls out for the masses, India won’t be included in the list. Recently, Instagram launched interactive Quiz Stickers, a feature to increase user engagement through Stories. Users can give their quiz a name and add up to four (or as few as two) possible answers. Users can even customise the colour of their quiz. As the creator of the quiz, users pick the right answer when creating it. Once the quiz is shared to the story, users will be able to see who answered correctly in their viewer list. The responses to the quiz stay on even after the story expires.

Apple iPhone SE, iPhone 6 Plus and older iPhones might not receive iOS 13 update

Apple will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next month, where it is expected to introduce iOS 13. While the new OS revision is expected to bring a slew of new features, a new report suggests that Apple could drop iOS 13 support for some of its older phones. As per the website iphonesoft, Apple might exclude Apple iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6 iPhone SE and the iPhone 5s from the update cycle. Additionally, the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad Air could also be left out from receiving the new OS update. This information was reportedly obtained from an Apple developer who is in on the company’s plans.

We came across a similar rumour back in February in which an Israeli website claimed that iOS 13 would not be supported on iPhone 6s and older models. It also claimed that iOS 13 could be unavailable on the iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, and the iPhone 6, along with some newer models like iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus. The list of iPads being excluded from the list was also long, including the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, and the iPad mini 4. However, one should take this info with a pinch of salt since nothing is official yet.

As for the upcoming WWDC event, some details about it have already leaked online. The iOS 13 update is expected to debut there, which will reportedly feature user interface tweaks, a new animation for launch, multitasking and closing apps, The home screen could also get a tidier look. Like Google, Apple is expected to bring a system-wide Dark Mode for its mobile devices with the iOS 13 update. As per a previous report, macOS 10.15 updated for Mac is slated to arrive this year with multiple new features like support for Project Marzipan, Siri shortcuts integration and more, along with watchOS 6.

Xiaomi phones, accessories now available at Mi Express Kiosks in India

In a first, Xiaomi has announced the Mi Express Kiosk initiative in India under which customers can purchase Xiaomi smartphones and mobile accessories directly from the Mi Express Kiosks (vending machines). Xiaomi says that the customers can make payments through all forms of payments, that is, credit cards, debit cards, cash and UPI. The company says that it will set up more kiosks in metro cities in the coming months.

Xiaomi says that by introducing these vending machine-style kiosks, it has eliminated operational and cost inefficiencies for the consumers. The price of these phones will be similar to that of the ones selling at the Mi Homes and Mi.com. All technology equipping Mi Express Kiosks has been researched and developed in India, the Chinese tech brand said, adding that it aims to set up several more kiosks in the coming months.

These Mi Express Kiosks can be found across metro cities in public areas with greater footfall such as tech parks, metro stations, airports, and shopping malls, and the company plans to gradually expand the retail plan across more cities. Furthermore, customers can also easily access information on the locations of Mi Express Kiosks on mi.com. Apparently, the kiosks would be open between 10 am and 8 pm in India.

In the first quarter of 2019, Xiaomi again topped the Indian smartphone market capturing 29-percent share, according to Counterpoint’s Market Monitor service. Xiaomi remained the smartphone market leader due to its aggressive offline expansion, the firm said. Its recently launched Redmi Note 7 series crossed the one million mark within the first quarter of its launch. Xiaomi’s offline contribution was highest in March.
