Nvidia GeForce RTX cards rumoured to get faster RAM to combat AMDs Navi GPUs

NVIDIA has always been Goliath in the AMD vs NVIDIA graphics card world. However, AMD has been garnering a lot of attention for their upcoming Navi GPUs. According to the information circulating the internet, NVIDIA is gearing up to refresh their RTX cards with more memory to combat the upcoming AMD GPUs. The new information is still a rumour and comes from RedGamingTech. He cites sources which claim that Nvidia is planning to use faster video memory in its RTX cards. This will not include the Turing based GTX products like the 1660 or the 1650 GPU’s. The new cards are expected to get a boost from 14Gbps to 16Gbps in terms of memory speed.

According to TechRadar, “For the RTX 2080, that would mean a jump in memory bandwidth from 448GB/s to 512GB/s, an almost 15% increase (and faster memory bandwidth means a faster graphics card in general).”

Since this is just a rumour, we will have to wait and see what NVIDIA does to counter the upcoming Navi GPUs from AMD. The Navi based AMD GPUs will launch in Q3 2019. The PC space isn't the only one where AMD is looking to make a splash. AMD and Sony have confirmed that the upcoming PS5 will have an AMD GPU and CPU along with an SSD. Little is known about the upcoming AMD powered console, but you can read everything we know about the upcoming PS5 here. The upcoming new Xbox consoles are also expected to be powered by an AMD CPU and GPU, but there is little known about what Microsoft is doing with their new console as well. It is speculated that Microsoft will launch more than one console and the new hardware is expected to debut at E3 2019.

Redmi Note 7S with 48MP primary camera to launch in India on May 20

Xiaomi seems to be on a roll with its smartphone launches. While it is yet to announce any Mi branded smartphone in India, it launched the Redmi 7 series, the Redmi Note 7 series and the Redmi Y3 in a span of one month. The company recently took a jab at OnePlus and teased the launch of its ‘Flagship Killer 2.0’ smartphone, which is expected to be the Redmi K20 with the Snapdragon 855 chipset, that could also be rebranded as the Poco F2. Now, Redmi has announced that it will launch a new handset called the Redmi Note 7S in India on May 20. The upcoming phone is confirmed to feature a dual camera setup where one of the sensors is capable of clicking 48MP images.

The announcement comes via a Tweet, which states, “This is the #RedmiNote you've been waiting for! #RedmiNote7S with a Super #48MP camera is coming on 20th May!” Currently, the Redmi Note 7 Pro (review) is the company’s only phone to feature a 48MP camera. The handset employs the Sony IMX 586 sensor to capture 12MP binned images until one switches over to a special mode to capture photos with 48MP resolution. Our guess is that the Redmi Note 7S is the rebranded Redmi Note 7 that was launched in China with Samsung’s 48 MP GM1 sensor, but we shall wait for official details before jumping to conclusions.

— Redmi India (@RedmiIndia) May 16, 2019

Sharing the news on the Mi Community forum, Xiaomi wrote, "We know that you love Redmi Note series, and it shows in numbers, Redmi Note 7 series has already sold 2Mn+ units since its launch in March. So we have decided to get you both #RedmiNote as well as #48MP in our upcoming Redmi Note 7S."

Xiaomi recently tried to drive up the hype for its Redmi Note 7 smartphone by sending it to space. We bring this up as the unit sent to space captured some images of the Earth and the new Redmi 7S’ launch has been teased with a similar image of the Earth is in the backdrop. While it's still speculation on our part, it’s likely that the company is rebranding the Redmi Note 7 with the 48MP GM1 sensor to launch it in India as the Redmi Note 7S.

Asus Zenfone 6 leaked renders show flip camera, notchless display

Asus will unveil the Zenfone 6 on May 16 in Spain, and just a day ahead of the launch, renders of the phone have surfaced on the internet revealing the expected design of the phone. The renders have been shared by SlashLeaks and popular tipster Roland Quandt. The renders show that the upcoming ZenFone phone will sport a notch-less edge-to-edge display and a swivel dual camera setup.

According to the images, the ZenFone 6 follows the same concept as the Samsung Galaxy A80. It does not feature a front camera, and the rear camera setup doubles as the selfie shooters. Apparently, the swivel camera module is said to be made out of liquid metal which is claimed to reduce its weight by 20 percent and increases its strength fourfold.
