Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ to allegedly support 45W fast charging

Samsung is all set to launch its second flagship of the year on August 7, and the details are slowly being outed as we close in on the launch date. Recently, the Galaxy Note 10 models visited Geekbench, which revealed the details of the processors that they will be powered by. Now, we have information about the charging speeds of both the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. The latest news comes from China’s 3 certification agency that approved a 25W fast charger bearing the EP-TA800 model number for the Galaxy Note 10.

Additionally, tipster IceUniverse revealed that the Galaxy Note 10+ could have 45W fast charging support. However, he also said that the bundled charger will only support 25W speeds. Previously, the 45W charger was spotted on display at the MWC Shanghai event, which led us to speculate that the Galaxy Note 10+ will in fact support 45W fast charging. The two smartphones are also expected to support faster wireless charging with speeds up to 20W.

The Galaxy Note 10 is expected to feature a  6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, while the Plus variant could come with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel. Moreover, the Galaxy Note 10 is rumoured to feature a triple-aperture camera setup: f/1.5, f/1.8, and f/2.4, on the back, with primary lens being able to switch between the three apertures to give users control over the depth of field, and the amount of light entering the lens. Apart from this, it could sport a telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide lens. Additionally, the Galaxy Note 10+ is expected to add a fourth Time of Flight sensor for added depth information and various AR applications.

Furthermore, the next Samsung flagship is expected to pack a 4170mAh and 4,500mAh battery for the Note 10 and Note 10 + respectively, an Exynos 9875 chipset (or Snapdragon 855 SoC for some markets) coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB of storage.

Honor Smart TV will be the first device powered by Huaweis Harmony OS: Report

If information circulating the internet is to be believed, then Honor is working on launching a smart TV in August 2019. This TV will run on Huawei’s own Harmony OS, more commonly known as the HongMeng OS in China. The TV will be a 55-inch unit and there is no information on when this TV will reach India. It is said that the TV will work as a hub for Huawei’s smart home devices apart from working as a TV. According to the report, the Chinese users have moved away from watching TV and have started using their phone for entertainment and smart appliance controls. According to the source, “Chinese people watch less and less TV as the average daily usage of TV sets dropped in three years from 70 per cent to 30 per cent while the profits of TV manufacturers decreased in tandem each year.”

Huawei has been working on its own Harmony OS since 2012, before the company's US ban. The OS is said to be compatible with Android apps. How that works is something we will know when we get our hands on the OS.

Using a smart TV as an entertainment device and a console to control your smart appliances is nothing new. In 2019, LG launched its new line-up of TVs powered by the Alpha 9 gen 2 processor that brings with it Google Assistant and Alexa built-in. These capabilities also help users control smart home appliances that are compatible with the Google Assistant or Alexa from the comfort of the living room. The LG TVs have a hub for controlling smart devices and run on the company’s own WebOS.

Sony, on the other hand, has Android-powered TVs with Google Assistant built-in and if you have any smart appliances that are compatible with the Google Assistant, then you can use your TV to control those as well.

Put simply, if you have a smart camera at the entrance of your house and when your doorbell rings, you can see who's outside without leaving the comfort of your couch. You can also control your smart lights and to ensure the right mood is set for movie night without leaving the comfort of your couch, ensuring you are a happier couch potato.

Apple iPhone 11 square camera bump confirmed in another video

Back in January, Digit published the first renders of the Apple iPhone 11 showing the square camera bump. Several media organisations subsequently confirmed those renders. In the latest development, famous YouTuber Marques Brownlee posted a video on his channel MKBHD further cementing the design of the camera module. He got his hands on the dummy units of what he claims to be the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max and iPhone 11R.

The primary difference between the devices is the camera. In the video, you can see the new camera bump design, which houses three lenses on both iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max. This is an upgrade from the two-camera setup on the previous generation of the Apple phones. The third lens on the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Max is speculated to be an ultra-wide-angle lens for a larger field of view. The iPhone 11R has the same camera bump. However, it has only two lenses - one extra from the previous generation of the device.

Back in February, noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the devices could come with frosted glass. However, this was not seen in Brownlee’s video. The dummy devices also didn’t show the iPad-like redesigned mute switch. This year’s devices are also expected to support for reverse wireless charging.

Recently, a short video was published by British mobile accessories retailer Mobile Fun, and it showed three tempered glass camera protectors in glossy black colour placed next to one another on a tabletop surface. The protectors are apparently made by European mobile accessories maker Olixar. The title below each of the three protectors reads: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, and iPhone 11R. Olixar lists the three model numbers on its website as well.
