Reliance Jio GigaFiber could come with three broadband packs: Report
There have been reports that claim that Reliance Jio will launch its much-awaited Jio GigaFiber service at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 12. It is expected that the company will disrupt the Internet Service Provider (ISP) market like it did with Jio tariffs. A new report has now claimed that the company may launch three Jio GigaFiber packs and that they may not be priced competitively with other ISPs in the country.
According to brokerage firm Bank of America- Merrill Lynch, Reliance may introduce three offerings: standard broadband, broadband + TV services, and broadband + TV + IoT devices. It also says that although these services may not be as affordable as people expect it to be, it should attract potential consumers due to the value for money offered along with the bundled offerings. Further, the firm said that Reliance Jio might also announce a landline service, which will come bundled with all the three packs mentioned above.
“We expect a lot of new information on Jio’s pure fibre-based home broadband and enterprise business launches at RIL’s 42nd AGM, and see RIL looking to give visibility on a phased commercial launch timeline, and perhaps pricing as well of the fibre broadband services,” Bank of America- Merrill Lynch said in a note to clients, which was seen by ET Telecom. It should be noted that Reliance Jio hasn’t confirmed any details about the commercial launch of the fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services.
Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman, had first announced the Jio GigaFiber service last year at the company's annual general meeting. Registrations started on August 15 last year and trials for the service have been underway since. The company has already announced that the service will be made available simultaneously in 1,600 cities across India. RIL had acquired 51.34 percent shares in Hathway and 58.92 percent stake in Den Networks last year, likely to meet its goal of providing the service. In the selected areas where the Jio GigaFiber service is already present, the company offers 100GB of free data at 100Mbps speeds every month.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 receives Digital Wellbeing via new update
The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is receiving a new update that brings with it a bunch of features and fixes. To begin with, the smartphone is getting the Digital Wellbeing feature with the update. Digital Wellbeing helps users monitor how much time they have spent on an app and help them cut down on time spent staring at the screen.
The update also brings with it fixes for issues related to dark mode. It also brings with it the July 2019 Android security patch to the smartphone. The update is rolling out over the air and users can head to Settings > System > System updates to manually check for the update.
In our review of the Max Pro M1, we said, “The Asus Zenfone Max Pro can take on the best in the market with ease. Like most Asus phones, the spec-sheet is maxed out with the best mid-range hardware. That includes latest stock Android and a 5,000mAh battery, two features which solve the biggest pain points people tend to have when making a purchase at that price range. The phone even manages to take on the formidable Redmi Note 5 Pro, save for the imaging prowess, but the pros easily outweigh the cons. In all, it’s always good to have a choice of clean stock UI without compromising on the performance.” You can read our in-depth review of the device here.
Launched in India in May 2018, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset with up to 6GB of RAM. The phone comes with expandable storage. The 18:9 display measures 5.99 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 employs an aluminium body and weighs 180g. Part of the reason for the phone's bulk is its 5000mAh non-removable lithium-ion polymer battery. It also supports 10W fast charging. You can check out the features of the phone in detail here.
Now let your Zenfone Max Pro M1 take care of you. The new FOTA update on the Max Pro M1 improves your phone’s security & your lifestyle with 'Digital well-being' which helps you reduce the time spent on each app and let you disconnect whenever you feel the need to. Further, the phone has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, which is essentially the largest ever on a Samsung smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy A80 price and availabilityThe Galaxy A80 is currently available for purchase via Amazon, Flipkart, Tata Cliq and the Samsung India online store. The phone will also be up for grabs at retail stores and the Samsung Opera House. It is priced at Rs 47,990 and the company is offering a 5-percent discount on Citibank Credit Cards and up to Rs 3000 off on the exchange of an old phone. As of writing this story, all the three colours: Phantom Black, Angel Gold and Ghost White, are available on all the platforms.

The panel delivers a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:1. The handset comes with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, which we have already seen on the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+. The screen also doubles as an earpiece, thanks to the piezoelectric display technology that sends sound vibrations while on a call.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A80 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, which is tuned specifically for gaming. There’s 8GB of RAM along with 128GB storage with no option to expand it. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone. A 3700mAh battery with 25W fast charging tech keeps the phone running. The entire camera setup, along with an LED flash and the laser autofocus, is housed in a separate unit made of plastic that rises up from the frame - just like the one in the Oppo Find X. The camera unit then flips over to become the front camera. Samsung claims that the entire motion takes around 1.2 seconds to complete.
