Nokia 72, Nokia 62 with circular triple cameras launched: Specs, price and more

Nokia’s first presence at IFA 2019 didn’t go unnoticed. HMD Global has unveiled a wide range of Nokia products including the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2. The two smartphones were launched today, on September 5 at an event in Berlin. Both phones sport a triple rear camera setup in a circular module. The company has also announced new earbuds. Here are more details about the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2, as well as the Nokia Power Earbuds.

Nokia 7.2 specifications

The Nokia 7.2 features a 6.3" FHD+ waterdrop PureDisplay with HDR10 support for Amazon under the protection of Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, which can be upgraded to 512GB using a microSD card. 

On the optics front, the Nokia 7.2 sports a triple rear camera setup: a 48MP camera with f/1.79 leans + an 8MP wide-angle lens + a 5MP depth camera with Zeiss Optics.  On the front lies a 20MP camera with Zeiss optics as well. 

The Nokia 7.2 packs a 3500mAh battery. It also has an audio jack and a Type-C port. The smartphone runs Android 9 out of the box, but it is Android 10 ready as it belongs to the Android One family.

Nokia 6.2 specifications 

The Nokia 6.2 features a 6.3" FHD+ waterdrop PureDisplay with HDR10 support for Amazon under the protection of Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, paired with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage, which can be upgraded to 512GB using a microSD card. 

On the optics front, the Nokia 6.2 sports a triple rear camera setup: a 16MP camera with f/1.8 leans + an 8MP wide-angle lens + a 5MP depth camera.  On the front lies a 8MP camera. 

The Nokia 6.2 packs a 3500 battery as well. The smartphone runs Android 9 out of the box, but it is Android 10 ready as it belongs to the Android One family. It will be made available in Ceramic Black and Ice colour options.

Nokia has also announced the new Nokia Power Earbuds. They are waterproof at 1m for up to 30 minutes. The earbuds have Bluetooth 5.0, touch controls as well. The earbuds also come with a 50mAh battery, while the charging case has a 3000mAh battery. The company claims it has up to 150 hours of battery life.

Nokia 2720 Flip, Nokia 800 Tough, and Nokia 110 feature phones unveiled at IFA 2019

HMD Global hosted an event for the first time at IFA, and it didn’t disappoint. It launched a wide range of Nokia products, from the expected Nokia 7.2 to a new flip phone. Nokia has unveiled a total of three feature phones at IFA 2019. Each one of them has a unique style to it: The Nokia 2720 Flip is a flip phone, the Nokia 800 Tough is a rugged feature phone, and the Nokia 110 is a feature phone. 

Nokia 2720 Flip specifications and features

The Nokia 2720 Flip features dual displays. The external screen lets you see notifications or check who is calling, before flipping it open and revealing the main screen. One can simply flip it closed to hang up. The feature phone has an emergency button, which once pressed, sends an emergency text message, including the current location, and calls five emergency contacts in the address book.

Nokia 2720 Flip is powered by Qualcomm 205 Mobile Platform, and has a removable 1500mAh battery. It runs KaiOS. The phone comes with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. It comes with preloaded with Facebook and WhatsApp. Also, it comes with both 4G and internet sharing capabilities, and Google Assistant.

Nokia 800 Tough specifications and features

Nokia says that the Nokia 800 is built for durability. It is designed for heavy-duty usage, it can resist water, dust, accidental drops and even extreme temperatures. The phone comes with an IP68 rating. Nokia 800 Tough also has 4G LTE. The phone comes preloaded with WhatsApp and Facebook. It comes with Google Assistant as well.

The Nokia 800 Tough is powered by the Qualcomm 205 Mobile Platform. It has 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card. It omes with a 2100mAh battery. It runs KaiOS as well.

Nokia 110 specifications and features

The Nokia 110 is a basic feature phone. It comes with the “fan favourite” Snake game, plus four try-and-buy games (Ninja Up, Airstrike, Penalty Cup, Doodle Jump). The phone offers up to 14 hours of talk time on a single charge. 

The Nokia 110 runs Nokia Series 30+. It has 4MB ROM and 4MB RAM. However, there is an option to expand the memory by up to 32GB using a microSD card slot. The phone has a removable 800mAh battery.

Realme XT 64MP camera smartphone to launch in India on September 13

Realme is all set to launch its 64MP smartphone, the Realme XT. The company teased the Realme XT at the launch of the Realme 5 series. Since then, the smartphone maker has hosted a detailed event in China as well as in India, we even got our time to test the smartphone camera, you can check the results here. We now have a release date of the Realme XT. The smartphone will be launching on September 13 in India. However, Realme hasn’t revealed any information about the price and specifications of the device.

The Realme XT is expected to feature a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED panel with a waterdrop notch at the top. It might have an in-display fingerprint scanner as well. The smartphone is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm  Snapdragon 712 SoC chipset, paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It is said to pack a 4000mAh battery. 

On the optics front, it is confirmed that the Realme XT will be sporting a 64MP camera made by Samsung. Apart from that, the quad camera is expected to have an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The smartphone could have a 16MP front camera for the selfie needs of users. 

The smartphone is rumoured to come in three storage variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB of internal storage. Realme XT is also said to have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. 

The Realme XT is speculated to run ColorOS based on Android 9 Pie. It could launch in two colour variants: Pearl Blue and Pearl White. Realme XT India price is still unknown. We should get more information about the smartphone in the coming days.

Reliance JioFiber launched with a slew of offers: Heres all you need to know

The chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, announced that the JioFiber broadband service will commercially roll out on September 5. Now, the Reliance JioFiber broadband service is officially available in the country and the service's subscription plans have been revealed. JioFiber is being made available across 1600 cities across India and as promised, its monthly subscription plans start at Rs 699 and offer a minimum speed of up to 100Mbps. Here, you will find all the new information Reliance JioFiber has revealed today. Additionally, alongside the JioFiber plans, the Jio has also detailed some other upcoming JioFiber services like a free fixed landline, free subscription to OTT app and more. 

Reliance JioFiber plans

JioFiber plans are here and as mentioned above, they start at Rs 699 and offer speeds of up to 100Mbps. New customers will need to make a one-time payment of Rs 2,500 as deposit charges, out of which Rs 1500 is a security deposit while Rs 1,000 is the non-refundable installation charge. A user subscribing to the Rs 699 base plan that is called 'Bronze' will get to use unlimited data but it will get high speeds for up to 100GB + 50 GB. Post exhaustion of this data, one will be able to access the internet at a speed of 1Mbps, and the extra data is being offered for six month as an introductory benefit. Do note that the mentioned FUP of 1Mbps speed cap is applicable on all henceforth mentioned JioFiber prepaid recharge plans. 

Next up is the Rs 849 prepaid JioFiber plan that is called 'Silver.' The recharge option will credit 200GB of high speed data, along with 200GB as a part of the introductory offer. Similar to the Rs 699 Bronze plan, the speed here is set to 100Mbps. 

The Rs 1,299 Gold prepaid plan offers 500GB of monthly data at speeds of up to 250Mbps. As an introductory offer, the telco is giving out 2560GB of additional introductory data. 

Moving on to the Rs 2,499 Diamond JioFiber plan, it offers 1250GB of montly data at 500Mbps speeds. There's also 250GB of additional free data for six months as a part of introductory offer. 

For users who require high bandwidth and data, the Rs 3,999 Platinum plan offers 1Gbps speeds for 2500GB. There's no additional introductory data benefit for this plan, but one does get access to the VR Experience and premium content that Jio talked about during its 42nd AGM. These benefits include

Vivo V17 Pro leaked promo image shows dual pop-up selfie cameras

Vivo is on a smartphone launching spree, and it doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon. The Vivo V17 Pro could be the latest addition to the Vivo smartphone family. An alleged promotional image for the smartphone has leaked online. It shows that the Vivo V17 Pro could indeed launch with dual pop-up selfie cameras. The Vivo V17 Pro first appeared in the teaser for Bigg Boss, which is hosted by Salman Khan. 

The latest leaks come after the Vivo V17 Pro leaked a few days back showing its rear panel. The leak comes from 91mobiles, and it shows thin bezels on all four sides. The Vivo V15 Pro successor is tipped to include an in-display fingerprint sensor. A previous leak has suggested that Vivo could be using a 32MP shooter for its dual pop-up selfie camera setup. The other camera may be a depth sensor. 

The Vivo V17 Pro quad rear camera setup was seen in the official look shared by the company with us. All the four cameras are placed in a single unit, and they are separated by an LED flash.

The Vivo V17 Pro is confirmed to come in the two colour options. There is no official name for the two colours yet, however, the rear panel is glossy and reflective. While one of the colours appears to be a dark shade of blue, the other one seems to be a pearl white colour. 

Vivo has said that the Vivo V17 Pro will be launched in India this September and we expect it to be unveiled in the upcoming weeks. 

The predecessor, Vivo V15 Pro was a camera-centric handset with a pop-up front camera. The phone also featured an AMOLED display, triple rear cameras, and an in-display fingerprint sensor, which was a first for smartphones in the price segment.

Googles Soli Radar feature will appear on Pixel 4 but only in select countries

We already know that the Google Pixel 4 will ship with the company’s Soli Radar feature. For the uninitiated, Soli is a new sensing technology that uses miniature radar to detect touchless gesture interactions. It is a purpose-built interaction sensor that uses radar to track the motion of our hands.The sensor detects sub-millimeter motion at high speeds with great accuracy. It is a ubiquitous gesture interaction language that will allow people to control devices with a simple, universal set of gestures. The human hand becomes a universal input device to interact with technology. 

But, according to XDA Developers, we now know that not all countries will be receiving this feature. These motion gestures will only work in select countries like the US, Canada, Australia, Taiwan and most other European countries. Surprisingly, Japan seems to be missing from the list. This could be because of the fact that Google did not get permission to add Soli to a consumer product in Japan. 

We can only speculate as to why Japan has been excluded from the list. It could basically be because Japan’s laws are a little stringent when it comes to consumer electronics. 

Getting back to Google’s Soli Radar, the feature will allow users to control their phones through gestures. Users can control their music, reject or answer calls and snooze alarms with just a wave of your hand. Face Unlock also uses the Soli radar to turn on the Pixel 4’s two face unlock sensors and unlock the phone as quickly as possible. You can also use the Soli Radar to turn on Face Unlock, using the Pixel 4’s sensors.

Honor 20S, Honor Play 3 with 48MP camera launched

Huawei seems to be going strong even though it was placed on US’ entity list. The company has not stopped launching smartphones. Honor has now announced a couple of new handsets in China, one is a mid-range smartphone called the Honor 20S while the other one is an entry-level phone, dubbed the Honor Play 3. The Honor 20S is a less powerful version of the Honor 20 that runs on the Kirin 810 SoC, while the Honor Play 3 is an entry-level device that gets a bigger battery. Both handsets feature a triple rear camera setup, which consists of a 48MP main sensor.

Honor 20S specifications

The Honor 20S is a mid-range handset that comes equipped with a punch-hole display design and sports a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display with a 1080x2340 pixel resolution. It is powered by the Kirin 810 SoC and comes with128GB of storage and options to select from 6GB or 8GB RAM. There’s no support for memory expansion via a microSD card slot. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the phone and it runs on Magic UI 2.1.1 that’s based on Android 9 Pie. 

In terms of optics, the Honor 20S features a triple camera setup that features a 48MP primary sensor that is paired with an f/1.8 aperture lens. There's also an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro shooter on the back. A 32MP camera for selfies is housed in the punch hole, on the front. 

Honor Play 3 specifications

The Honor Play 3 runs on an octa-core Kirin 710F SoC that is paired with up to 6GB RAM up to 128GB of storage. It features a 6.39-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1560p resolution and it also sports a punch hole display design to house the front facing camera. The handset is backed by a 4000mAh battery but gets a microUSB port that supports 10W charging. As for optics, the phone gets a 48MP primary sensor on the rear that is paired with an f/1.8 aperture lens. There’s also an 8MP ultra wide camera with 120 degree field of view and a depth sensor. On the front is an 8MP sensor for selfies. 

Honor 20S, Honor Play 3 price and availability 

The 6 RAM + 128GB model of the Honor 20S starts at CNY 1,900 (Rs 19,124 approx), while its 8GB RAM variant costs CNY 2,200  (Rs 22,140 approx). The handset is available in  Blue, White, and Black colours, and it is up for sale in China via VMall, TMall, JD and other platforms. 

Coming to the Honor Play 3, the handset starts at CNY 999 (Rs 10,000 approx) for the 4GB + 64GB model. The 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 64GB variants are priced the same at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 13,000).
