iOS 13 update comes with game-breaking bugs on Fortnite, PUBG Mobile
If you own an Apple device and have just upgraded to iOS 13, then we’ve got some bad news for you. First reported by 9to5Mac, users were warned not to upgrade to iOS 13 as there was a bug present in the update that caused a bit of trouble with the triple-finger tap-and-hold gesture. This means that the two biggest mobile games in Fortnite and PUBG Mobile are no longer playable because of this update.
The reason these games are now unplayable is because of the gesture controls that were updated with iOS 13. A text-editing gesture on iOS 13, the triple-finger tap-and-hold option was the actual culprit here. So, if you need to have three fingers on the display when playing a game, this is surely going to cause a few issues with the software.
Following the debacle, Tencent, the developers of PUBG Mobile have issued a statement that informs users of this game-breaking bug. The company has asked users to not install the iOS 13 update on their phones. The company also says that it is in contact with Apple, trying to get to the bottom of the issue and resolve it as soon as possible.
The company states, “We are aware of an issue for players who upgraded to iOS 13, where touching the screen with 3 fingers will trigger an iOS function and interrupt the game. We have already raised the issue with Apple, and we will continue working with them to resolve the issue. We suggest players who play the game with 3 or more fingers do not upgrade to iOS 13 until the issue is resolved.”
As of now, users are unable to disable the gestures feature on iOS 13 and will have to wait until September 24 for the expected release of the iOS 13.1 update.
