PlayStations State of Play delivers trailers for The Last of Us 2, Call of Duty and more
Sony held its annual State of Play presentation yesterday and while there wasn’t too much to really write home about, there were a few announcements that have gotten fans excited. We got a slick trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a little bit of quirky weirdness in Wattam and the much-anticipated trailer and a release date for Naughty Dog’s, The Last of Us 2.
Here is everything that was announced at PlayStation’s State of Play presentation.
The Last of Us 2 trailer and release date
Released in 2013, The Last of Us was one of the games that propelled the PlayStation to new heights. The tale of Joel and Ellie was a heart-breaking, visceral journey through the post-fungi apocalypse. One of the highest rates and best-selling games on the console, a sequel was inevitable. Which is where The Last of Us 2 comes in. We’ve got a brand-new trailer that sees the return of Joel as well as a confirmed release date. The game comes out on February 21 and as of right now, the pre-order for the game is up on the PlayStation India store.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare story trailer
If the latest trailer is anything to go by, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare looks stunning. The trailer doesn’t reveal too much, but it shows more grounded action and a grittier plot. Check out the trailer for yourselves.
Wattam looks like a lot of fun
If you’ve ever played Katamari Damacy, you know that Keita Takahashi is a strange man. His latest game, Wattam is pretty much more of the same. It looks incredibly quirky and just plain fun. If you want a unique video game that will challenge the notion of what a game is, then Wattam is right up your alley.
Miscellaneous
Sony also announced L.A Noir VR for the PS VR. It would be nice to step into the world of L.A Noir once again so this is welcome announcement.
Another game that caught our eye was the beautifully haunting, Arise. This looks like a beefier version of Journey with the deserts replaced by a winter landscape.
Sony also revealed the playable demo for Medievil. This was one of my personal favorites when I was a child. You can download the demo from the PlayStation Store.
We’re also getting a limited-edition Death Stranding themed console that will launch the same day as the game, November 8.

Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha with wraparound three-sided display announced, 108MP camera photos revealed
We all know the Mi Mix series represents Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones with a high screen-to-body ratio. But the company’s newest model in the series takes that definition to a whole new level. Xiaomi announced in Beijing yesterday the Mi Mix Alpha, a 5G concept smartphone with a wraparound three-sided display and a 108MP rear camera. Xiaomi says the device’s ‘4D surrounding curved display’ helps the phone achieve a screen-to-body ratio of 180.6 percent.
The Mi Mix Alpha is essentially one large wraparound touchscreen display covered in sapphire glass with a thin ceramic frame running across the height of the back panel to house the cameras. The top and bottom sides get a 2.15mm TC4 aerospace-grade titanium alloy frame each, which is attached to the ceramic strip on the back to hold everything in place. The part of the display that flows around the sides of the body is pressure-sensitive. A linear motor under the display simulates the touch of physical buttons.
Xiaomi says it has equipped the Mi Mix Alpha concept smartphone with three camera sensors on its ceramic back strip. The primary sensor is a 108MP 1.6μm unit with an f/1.69 aperture, assisted by four-axis optical image stabilisation and laser auto focus. The secondary sensor is a 20MP 1.0μm ultra wide-angle unit with an f/2.2 aperture and 117-degree field of vision. Xiaomi says it’s capable of 1.5cm macro photography. The last sensor is a 12MP telephoto 1.4μm unit with an f/2.0 aperture.
Along with images of the Mi Mix Alpha and its various physical features, Xiaomi has published photos taken through its 108MP camera sensor on Twitter. According to Xiaomi, the Mi Mix Alpha is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset and comes with up to 128GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage space (expandable up to 512GB externally). A 40W wired fast charger comes bundled to juice up the phone’s 4050mAh nano silicon cathode battery. At a reported price of 19,999 CNY (Rs 1,99,677 approx), the Mi Mix Alpha is more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
One more thing! Introducing #MiMIXAlpha, 4D surrounding curved display, delivering a true, bezel-less experience. ❤️and
