OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Series with 55-inch QLED display, custom Gamma Color Chip launched in India: Price, specs and all you need to know
OnePlus has finally thrown its hat in the ring, foraying into the smart TV segment by announcing the OnePlus TV 55 Q1 series of televisions. While OnePlus was teasing just one TV for some time now, it went ahead and announced two TVs in its 55 Q1 Series. The OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro is the top-end model while there’s a more affordable OnePlus TV 55 Q1 behind it. Both OnePlus TVs feature a 55-inch 4K QLED panel with a 95.7 percent screen-to-body ratio, however, only the Q1 Pro gets an integrated sliding soundbar. So, without further ado, here’s all you need to know about the new OnePlus TVs.
OnePlus TV 55 Q1 and Q1 Pro specificationsThe top model of the lot is the OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro, which is a 55-inch 4K QLED TV with a 95.7 percent screen-to-body ratio and an in-built sliding soundbar. The OnePlus Q1 also gets all the same features but doesn’t ship with a soundbar. OnePlus boasts that its TVs covers 96 percent of the DCIP-3 and 120 percent of the NTSC colour gamut. This is all thanks to the Gamma Color Magic chip that they come equipped with as it enables a host of features like Super Resolution, Contrast Enhancement, Noise Reduction, MEMC, De-Contour, Dolby Vision, Colour Brightening and Colour Enhancement to deliver a more ‘vivid and smooth’ experience.
The Q1 Pro features eight speakers that have a total power output of 50W and six of the speakers are forward-facing while two 20W speakers face backwards. On the standard Q1, there are a total of four speakers that have a 50W total power output. Both TVs support Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD and Dolby Digital Plus audio. The back panel of the TVs feature a carbon fibre finish and a magnetic cover that snaps over the I/O ports. Alongside stock Android TV OS, the company offers OxygenPlay UI on the OnePlus TV. There’s also a OnePlus Connect feature that enables users to connect their smartphones and control the TV via an app.
The TVs will receive updates for three years and Netflix support will arrive sometime later this year. Connectivity options on the TVs include 2.4 GHz/5 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, one ethernet and four HDMI ports, one AC input, one digital audio output and three USB ports, out of which, one is a USB Type-C, the other a USB 3.0 and finally, a USB 2.1 port thrown in for good measure.
OnePlus TV priceThe OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro is priced at Rs 99,900 while the standard Q1 costs Rs 69,990. The new OnePlus TV series will be available for purchase from September 28 via Amazon.
OnePlus also announced its new OnePlus 7T smartphone in India. You can read more about it here.

OnePlus 7T with Snapdragon 855+, 655-inch AMOLED 90Hz display launched in India
After several teases, leaks and reports, OnePlus has made its new OnePlus 7T smartphone official in India. As expected, the new handset is a successor to the OnePlus 7 and it comes equipped with a 90Hz refresh rate display with a waterdrop notch design. It sports a circular camera setup on the back and sports some new features like Macro photography, Warp Charge 30T and more to entice consumers. However, it remains to be seen whether it is a good enough offering to persuade OnePlus 7 series users, who recently bought their handsets. Here’s all you need to know about the new OnePlus 7T.
OnePlus 7T specificationsThe OnePlus 7T sports an all-glass design with a 4th gen matte-frosted glass on the rear. It sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED 90Hz display that features a 20:9 display aspect ratio and also supports HDR10+. The handset comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and supports Chromatic Reading Mode that desaturates the display colour for providing an ‘enhanced’ reading experience. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, which is a slightly overclocked version of the Snapdragon 855 processor, and comes equipped with 8GB RAM and options to select from 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus 7T comes equipped with a circular triple rear camera setup that houses the sensors horizontally. It consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor that supports Hybrid Image Stabilisation (HIS), which combines both OIS and EIS, and is paired with an f/1.6 aperture lens. There’s also a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.2 aperture lens that enables up to 2x optical zoom. Alongside portrait mode, the rear camera supports Nightscape imaging, Macro photography, and more shooting modes. On the front is a 16MP Sony IMX472 sensor that supports EIS.
The OnePlus 7T packs stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and gets a new haptic vibration motor. It is backed by a 3800mAh battery and supports new Warp Charge 30T charging technology, which is said to be 18 percent faster than the Warp Charge 30. There’s also a new graphite heat sink pipe to keep the device cooler while charging.
It runs on OxygenOS 10 that is built on Android 10 out-of-the-box and OxygenOS has also been tweaked. The phone’s gallery will now automatically create ‘smart’ albums for sorting images and the company is also offering 5GB free cloud storage for its users, along with an additional 50GB. There’s also a Work-Life Balance feature that sorts and shuns notifications from apps depending on how it is configured.
OnePlus 7T price, availability and launch offersThe 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version of the OnePlus 7T is priced at Rs 37,999, while the handset’s 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs 39,999. The next Samsung Galaxy Fold could launch worldwide and cost less than its predecessor
After the disastrous launch of the first version of the Galaxy Fold, Samsung went back to the drawing board and have now relaunched the phone on September 6 to much better reviews. The first model did not meet expectations and a few units that were shipped to reviewers had malfunctioned and had to be recalled. The latest model has made a successful comeback and is selling out in markets where the phone has already been launched. The Galaxy Fold will now go on sale in the US from September 27 onwards.
Clearly, Samsung have released the Galaxy Fold in select markets, but in a recent report by SamMobile, it looks like the successor of the Galaxy Fold will see a wider release. Ideally, markets like the US or even China are huge and important markets for the Korean tech giant. As of right now, Samsung only sells the Galaxy Fold in select markets, in limited quantities. So, this goes to show that the company is serious about the Fold and plan to make it a part of their diverse line of devices.
Bearing the model number SM-F700F, the next iteration of the Galaxy Fold may also be more affordable as well. Clearly,a lower price tag will help boost the device’s popularity with the masses. To help keep the price down, the device is tipped to feature 256GB internal storage instead of 512GB on the Galaxy Fold. The Korean giant could also shrink the screen size to save costs.
The Galaxy Fold could cost somewhere between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1.75 lakh in India. As reported earlier, the Galaxy Fold will be launching in India on October 1. The phone will be sold via retail outlets and will be made available only via pre-booking.

Samsung Galaxy Fold India launch confirmed for October 1: Heres what to expect
Soon after rumours of Samsung’s first foldable phones hitting the Indian shores arose, the company has confirmed the same. Samsung has sent out media invites for its Galaxy Fold handset launch, which will be taking place on October 1 in India. While we knew that the company’s foldable phone will be made available in India, things were a bit unclear ever since the device was recalled due to display issues. Early units of the Galaxy Fold that were sent out to reviewers malfunctioned due to an issue with the display and the hinge. Since then, Samsung has been working on correcting the issues for a global relaunch of the smartphone, which recently happened.
Samsung Galaxy Fold specificationsSamsung’s Galaxy Fold comes equipped with two displays. It sports a smaller panel on the outside and a foldable display on the inner side. The outer display measures 4.6-inch and it is an HD+ Super AMOLED panel. When the smartphone is unfolded, it reveals a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display inside. The handset runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the handset features three main cameras on the back that sports a 12MP + 12MP + 16MP configuration. When folded, there’s a 12MP sensor on the front.
In its unfolded state, the front display sports a notch on the upper right corner that houses dual cameras. The housing hosts a 10MP main sensor, along with an 8MP depth-sensing camera. The smartphone is backed by two batteries, which have a combined capacity of 4380 mAh and supports fast wired charging, along with wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Fold expected India priceThe Samsung Galaxy Fold will go on sale in the US on September 27 starting at $1,980 (Rs 1.40 lakh approx). While there’s no official information on the phone’s India pricing, a recent report suggests that it could be priced between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1.75 lakh in the country. As per the report, the company will also offer some exclusive benefits with such an expensive device like access to specialised customer care services like one-on-one access to Samsung experts, and a 24/7 support hub online or over the phone.
