JioPhone Diwali 2019 offer: Buy JioPhone at Rs 699 and get additional data benefits worth Rs 700

Jio made waves in the Indian telecom sector with its data and internet service and soon after, the company announced its smart feature phone JioPhone. The handset was announced at Rs 1,500 and was basically free since the amount would be refunded if the buyer returns the device in working condition after three years. Jio followed up on the handset with the JioPhone 2 but now, the company has announced a new JioPhone Diwali 2019 offer under which one can buy the original JioPhone for Rs 699 instead of Rs 1,500. The new festive offer is valid till Diwali, which falls on October 27, 2019.

The new offer discounts the JioPhone by Rs 801 and this is a flat discount since one doesn’t have to exchange an old phone or do any additional recharges to avail the offer. However, Jio is offering something extra for users who purchase the discounted JioPhone before Diwali. For the first seven recharges performed on the JioPhone, Jio will add additional data worth Rs 99 to a user’s account. Do note that the offer is only available on the original JioPhone and not on the JioPhone 2.

The JioPhone was announced back in August 2017 for Rs 1,500. The handset runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and comes equipped with a 2.4-inch display. With 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, the handset runs on KaiOS, which supports some popular apps like WhatsApp and Facebook. The handset also supports Google Assistant. Jio also has the JioPhone 2, which sports a physical qwerty keypad and four way navigational buttons.

To recall, the JioPhone 2 sports a horizontal 2.4-inch display and comes with 512MB RAM, coupled with 4GB of internal storage. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and in terms of optics, it sports a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing sensor. It supports dual VoLTE SIM cards, runs on KAI OS and is powered by a 2,000mAh battery.
