PUBG Mobile v0150 update adds new vehicles, guns and more

The version 0.15.0 update for PUBG Mobile is now rolling out to all users. This includes new firearms, vehicles, and more. With Halloween just around the corner, the makers of PUBG Mobile seem to be getting into the groove of things by also halloween themed content along with the rest of the v0.15.0 update in the form of a new Halloween Mode in Survive Till Dawn game mode.

New features added to all of the PUBG Mobile Maps include the new BRDM-2 Amphibious Armoured Vehicle. As the name would suggest, this vehicle is capable of travel on land and water and is armoured. So it can withstand a lot of bullets. The vehicle does not spawn naturally on the map. Rather, players have to call it down by using a flare gun. The update also brings a new weapon in the form of the Desert Eagle. This weapon does the most amount of damage and has the highest muzzle velocity of all pistols with 63 damage per bullet. It can also be equipped with Red Dot, Holo, and laser sights. It can also be improved with magazine attachments.

Gameplay changes include the ability to grab ledges and pull themselves up. Further, fuel drums can now be exploded by shooting at them. There have also been improvements and balances made to the M16A4, Vector, UMP45 and MK47 Mutant. These include the ability to add new attachments, ammo types, carrying capacities as well as performance and graphics fixes.

As far as the Halloween themed update goes, Survive Till Dawn mode will now feature modified background objects and ‘Halloweenized’ monsters. There is also a hostile human faction in abandoned factories and strongholds. Players have the option of defeating these factions in order to get better rewards, while killing zombies grands bio-warfare equipment that is effective against zombies and other players. This is a part of the game’s ‘Halloweeks’ theme.

The new Payload Mode with the update will be rolled out sometime later this month. This new mode aims to introduce new gameplay elements such as helicopters, teammate recall, Air Strike beacons and more.

The PUBG Mobile v0.15.0 update is being rolled out and should be available to all users soon. You can check out more about the update here.

Everything that was announced at Riot Games 10th Anniversary Riot Pls

It's been 10 years since League of Legends first officially released. In addition to giving players gifts and goodies in-game, Riot pulled out all the stops this time around.

Riot Games finally has more than one game, and the Game(s) in Riot Games is finally justified. In addition to revealing at least three new games, Riot also went ahead and announced two mobile games and even an animated series. Let's look into everything that was announced at Riot's 10th Anniversary Riot Pls.

Starting things off with Riot's FPS game.

Project A

Dubbed Poject A, this is the shooter that Riot Games is working on, which will be in a similar vein to games like Overwatch and TF2, with playable characters that have abilities. Not much can be derived from what was revealed during the event, we only got to see a few of the abilities and a little bit of the maps, which most likely aren't final. There's no fixed release date as of yet. Riot have also said that they're working on anti-cheat methods from the get go to ensure a cheater free experience.

Project L

This is something we already knew was in the works, dubbed Project L for now, this is Riot's upcoming 2D Arcade Fighter game, and from the looks of it, it's coming out nicely. The reveal featured only three champions, Katarina, Ahri and Darius, but whatever we saw looked pretty good and polished.

Runeterra Legends

Runeterra Legends is Riot's card game, because we definitely didn't have enough of those around. Just kidding. The upcoming Runeterra Legends featuring mechanics those who've played card games should be familiar with. However, there are a few changes here and there. Additionally, Riot went out of their way to mention here that you won't need to buy RNG card packs to build the deck you want to. The game will feature a loot like system where players will be able to choose the deck that they want cards from.

Wild Rift and Teamfight Tactics

League's super popular Auto Chess game mode Teamfight Tactics is finally making its way to mobile on both Android and iOS, additionally, League of Legends itself is also making its way on to mobile, going by Wild Rift. Wild Rift has apparently been worked on from the ground up, and there are visible changes (and even improvements apparently) to certain champion models. The game is rolling out to some regions by the end of this year, and will be out officially sometime around the end of 2020.

Arcane

Riot Games also announced an animated series based in the League of Legends Universe. From the looks of it, it features a younger Vi and Jinx, who are both currently playable champions in the game. The quality looks great, as is expected of Riot's animation. We've been asking companies like Blizzard and Riot to make an animated series or movies for ages, now it's actually happening.

Changes to League of Legends

There was also the announcement of a new champ coming to League of Legends, Senna, and the new pre-season changes coming to the game, which includes changes to the map structure, environmental changes and more.

Overall, Riot Pls was a huge announcement, with Riot Games going from having just one game under their belt to over five, included a few unnamed titles, and even an animated series. 2020 is looking like a big year for Riot.

Google officially confirms the end of its VR platform, Daydream

Google’s hardware October 15 event was not one that left a lot of people happy. After the revelation that the Pixel 4 will not be launched in India, we’re now getting confirmation that Google is officially killing its VR platform, Daydream. Additionally, the company will cease the sales of Daydream VR headsets as well.

In an official statement, a Google Spokesperson said, “Over time we noticed some clear limitations constraining smartphone VR from being a viable long-term solution,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement. “We noticed some clear limitations constraining smartphone VR from being a viable long-term solution. Most notably, asking people to put their phone in a headset and lose access to the apps they use throughout the day causes immense friction.”

Over the last few years, adoption of Daydream into OEM handsets had been fairly slow, with nobody adding support for the VR platform this year into their smartphones. In fact, the Pixel 3a did not support Daydream VR either, but at the time, it appeared that the budget nature of the device could be the reason behind it. Now with the omission of Daydream from the Pixel 4’s list, it is clear that Google is killing the service.

This, however, does not mean that VR as a technology is dead. Companies continue to heavily invest in AR/VR technologies and solutions, so with Google killing off Daydream, it is entirely possible that the company may have an alternative solution available at some point in the future.
