If you thought Hideo Kojimas cutscenes were too long, hes now thinking of making movies

After releasing games that are essentially interactive movies, Hideo Kojima has now said that he wants to venture into the actual world of film. With the backing of Kojima Productions, Hideo will try and walk the fine line between game developer and full-blown filmmaker. To be fair to Hideo Kojima, his games have what we call an air of cinematic excellence to them. From the generational tale of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater to the finality of Metal Gear 4, Kojima has always had a knack for viewing gameplay through a cinematic lens.

In an interview with the BBC, Kojima seems set on pursuing his filmmaking dreams and even said as much. He said, “If you can do one thing well, then you can do everything well”, which makes sense, if you actually think about it. And the fact that his sensibilities are already tuned to a cinematic spectrum, this shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for Kojima. If you paid any attention to the man’s career, you’ll see that his vision was already present in games like Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation, back in the day. His style of direction set a standard that is still a yardstick that triple A games are compared to.

The Metal Gear series has already been touted as one of the best franchises to have incorporated a more filmic style of storytelling that very few games have been able to match.  After his abrupt departure from Konami in 2015, the game designer would finally find a new home under his own banner and released the much-hyped Death Stranding (read our review here). Even though reviews seem to be mixed for the game, it is one of the most important releases of the year.

We may not see Kojima jump into the world of movies anytime soon, but the thought is definitely there. For now, lets all sit back and enjoy Death Stranding when it releases on the 8th of November for the PlayStation 4.

Oppo to release ColorOS 7 on November 20

Oppo has confirmed that it will be announcing the new ColorOS 7 in China on November 20. The company has not revealed anything regarding the new features of the upcoming custom user interface. However, the launch announcement poster gives us some hints at the features that one could expect from Oppo. ColorOS 7 could focus on improving many aspects including performance and gaming experience. For now, Vice President of Oppo, Shen Yiren has revealed that ColorOS 7 will be released for Oppo’s flagship device, the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom.

Chinese smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi and Huawei have already announced an updated version of their custom Android skins. Now, Oppo is all set to join them with ColorOS 7. To recall, ColorOS 6 was introduced last year in November, which brought Game Boost 2.0, an updated user interface, updated camera, gaming, security features and more.

While not much is known about the upcoming ColorOS 7, it is expected to be based on Android 10. Earlier, Realme filed a trademark application with the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office for “RealmeOS,” which indicates that the company may be developing its own Android interface that could rival ColorOS 7.

Realme is reportedly developing its own app store as well that is said to serve as an alternative to Google Play Store. This could be done to enter the Chinese market, where Google does not offer its services and every OEM has to rely on its own app store.

It remains to be seen what additional features Oppo is planning to introduce with ColorOS 7. It may not see a major overhaul in terms of interface design. The company has not yet revealed a roadmap of smartphones to get ColorOS 7 yet. We expect the details to be revealed in the upcoming days leading to the November 20 launch in China.
