Call of Duty: Mobile may be getting a Zombie mode very soon

Since it’s been released, Call of Duty: Mobile has been one of the best mobile experiences around. The fast-paced gameplay and range of weaponry has made it the go-to game for a lot of gamers. That being said, don’t you guys think that the game could use a new undead mode? Well, look no further, as the developers of Call of Duty: Mobile has said that, “the undead are coming”. It looks like the developers will be adding this mode to the game soon enough. It may even be rolled out along with the next big update.

In a Reddit post on the CoD: Mobile subreddit, the official account posted a large update where they talked about Zombie mode. To be fair, the mode has been a part of the game since the beta build but the option has been greyed out and cannot be selected. There have been no real release dates announced but they did drop a couple of hints as to when it may drop.

The dev team has said that the mode will be available, “before you know it”. Which leads us to believe that iut may ship with the next large update to Call of Duty: Mobile. The devs also said that official COD: Mobile channels will be sharing screenshots and news articles related to the mode. The developers also released a post which said, “Over the past month, there is one request that we have seen every single day, ‘where is Zombies?’ It will be at your fingertips before you know it.”

They also added, “Look to our social media channels as we prepare to show Zombies to the world! “We share plenty through these Community Updates, but our social media channels have screenshots, videos, and more to share that you may not see here. As we get further into November, we eagerly wait to share more information with you all about upcoming events, whether it is modes, challenges, new gear or skins, gameplay changes, or additions.”

From all the info given to us, we can make a few predictions as to when the mode may show up. Zombie mode could hit screens as soon as November 25 but we really don’t have a concrete answer so, if you want to know more about Call of Duty” Mobile, watch this space.

Telegram, Signal are vulnerable to hackers as well

WhatsApp-NSO group spyware recently affected an estimated total of 1,400 users globally, including many users in India. While some users may have drifted towards other chat applications for security reasons, a recent report claims that chat apps like Telegram and Signal aren’t safe either.

While leading chat apps offer a certain amount of encryption, it must be noted that this encryption has its flaws as well. Once hackers get to know any vulnerability or bug in the app security ecosystem, a user’s personal data is at their mercy. Unlike WhatsApp and Apple iMessage, Telegram doesn’t offer end-to-end encrypted chats. However, it offers the added layer of security through a manually activated 'Secret chat' option.

A recent research paper from MIT highlights several flaws in Telegram’s security features noting that it employs its own messaging protocol, called "MTProto", which lacks scrutiny from outside cryptographers. Further, the paper has claimed that Telegram follows the old cloud-based approach for data storage, which means, if hackers are able to gain control of Telegram’s server system, they will have access to unencrypted messages as well as all the metadata.

WhatsApp, when hit by the Pegasus cyberattack, quickly fixed the issue and sent out notices to the government and its users that they were in danger. The company also started legal proceedings simply because of the kind of resources it has. Unlike WhatsApp, companies like Telegram and Signal do not have the resources and strength to fight off these kinds of attacks.

PUBG for PC may finally get a clan system

It looks like clan systems are finally making their way to PUBG on the PC. A notable dataminer who goes by the name PlayerIGN claims to have gotten a hold of information as well as images that points towards the introduction of clans to the game. It should be noted that clans are already available on PUBG Mobile.

According to PlayerIGN’s tweet, clans will cost 5,000 BP, and are said to accommodate a maximum of 20 members. Interestingly, clans are said to receive ‘resumes’ from prospective recruits. It is not yet known if players will be able to send custom made resumes, or if it will just be a list of stats that is sent across. Clan names are said to be between 2 to 15 characters, with a shorted clan tag that will be between two to four characters. It was also noted that players will be able to create a slogan for their clan and have ‘presentation’ of 180 characters. This will most likely act as a clan description.

Xiaomis new patent hints at a foldable phone with penta-camera pop-up module

A new patent published by Xiaomi on November 8 shows a foldable phone that has five cameras in the pop-up module. The phone has an outward-folding screen and depending on how a user holds it, the penta-camera setup can be used as front or rear cameras. The left side of the phone, when unfolded, is thicker, which could house the battery and other components that make up the phone.

While there is a patent it doesn’t mean that we may see a real product anytime soon or at all. However, Xiaomi is yet to unveil its foldable phone, which was teased in a video of a working prototype. There is no word on the launch date of the same. However, the Chinese phone manufacturer released Mi Mix Alpha recently that sports a flexible display which wraps around the device.

Talking about the state of foldable phones, Samsung is about to launch a new foldable device, Samsung W20, on November 19 in China. At the Samsung Developer Conference 2019 in the United States,  the company teased a vertically folding smartphone too. While the company has a vertically folding phone in works, this could well be a Galaxy Fold with 5G support. The poster released by Samsung shows a design like the Galaxy Fold.

Moreover, Motorola is gearing up to launch a foldable phone, Motorola Razr on November 13. The company has sent out invites for an event on November 13 where it will reveal a “reinvented icon”. Although the older Razr was a foldable phone, the new one could have a large foldable screen in the older Razr’s form. Leaked specs have alleged that the new Razr will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chip and a $1500 price tag when it does ship.

More folding phones are expected to launch in 2020.

Airtel Xstream Fiber offers 40Mbps unlimited data plan at Rs 699 but theres a catch

The new fiber-based broadband service by the telco has plans starting at Rs 799 with speeds of up to 100Mbps. However, Telecom Talk reports of an Airtel Home Broadband plan, which is apparently still available. Priced at Rs 699 per month, the plan is said to offer 40Mbps speeds, but it is currently not being displayed on Airtel’s website. As per the report, one needs to subscribe for three months to Airtel’s Xtream Fiber service to avail the plan.

The company is also said to be offering unlimited data per month wiṭh the broadband plan, which has a data cap of 3.3TB. With this plan, one will need to pay a total amount of Rs 2,097 but a consumer will reportedly be able to avail a discount of 10 and 15 percent when ṭhey select the same plan for six or 12 months respectively. Nokia 82 may come in only one variant with 5G support

Rumors of the Nokia 8.2 have been swirling around the internet for months now. Just last month, reports claimed that the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 chipset and will have a 5G variant. Now, the same source, NokiaPowerUser (NPU) claims that the Nokia 8.2 will only come in a single variant with 5G support. That means, there won’t be a 4G-only version for the same. Further, the report adds that the Nokia 8.2 will not launch in December, but the launch is set for MWC 2020 next year.

The 4G version of Nokia 8.2 is speculated to launch next month, which makes sense since the Nokia 8.1 was launched the same time last year. However, according to NPU, since the Nokia 8.2 will come equipped with 5G support, HMD won't announce it until MWC 2020. For reference, MWC 2020 is expected to take place in late February. Further, HMD Global has already confirmed that it will launch affordable 5G Nokia smartphones next year to reach a wider audience.

Coming back to the NPU report, it should be taken as a grain of salt because a Nokia tipster, 'Nokia anew' has claimed that the non-5G variant of the Nokia 8.2 has not been cancelled yet and it could still launch in December. However, the tipster says that this variant will not be waterproof and won’t have support for wireless charging either.

The Nokia 8.2 is expected to sport a 64MP primary camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. It is said that the 5G variant will be priced under the $500 mark in international markets. There is no word on the availability of Nokia 8.2 5G in India yet.
