Xiaomi released the Mi Band 3i in India: Price, specs and more

Xiaomi have gone ahead and launched the Mi Band 3i in India. With an AMOLED touch display, up to 20 days of battery life and many more features the Mi Band 3i is a stripped-down version of its bigger brother, the Mi Band 3. The Mi Band 3 was launched in India last year and is more expensive than its smaller brother, the Mi Band 3i. So, with a lower price, it was clear that the heart-rate monitor had to go and that is what’s missing from the Mi Band 3i.

Priced at Rs 1,299, the Mi Band 3i comes in a single Black colour set and it also comes with a 0.78 inch screen at 128x80 pixels. The screen is also a monochrome White AMOLED display with 300 nits of brightness and a capacitive touch panel. It also comes equipped with a 110mAh li-polymer battery. Xiaomi claims that this battery will power the Mi Band 3i for up to 20 days. The Mi Band 3i comes with support for Bluetooth v4.2 and is compatible with phones running on Android 4.4 and iOS 9.0 and above. The strap is said to be manufactured using TPU material, and the Mi Band 3i is also listed as 5ATM water resistant certified.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3i also comes with a feature that allows you to detect paired smartphones in and around the periphery. The Mi Band 3i also features a calorie counter, sleep monitor, sleep counter, call accept/reject and many more other useful options. You can check out a teaser for the Mi Band 3i in the tweet below.

Samsung Galaxy S11 likely to sport 120Hz display, 25W fast charging

Samsung’s next flagship smartphone isn’t due for a launch until the first quarter of next year. And yet, a bucket-load of leaked and speculated information about it pours in from online leaksters and tipsters every single day. In a series of tweets published just a few hours ago, popular leakster Ice universe revealed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S11 could sport a display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. One of the screenshots shared by the tipster also shows that the Galaxy S11 has been certified in China for 25W fast charging.

In the tweets and images shared by Ice universe, we see a screenshot that’s allegedly taken on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 running One UI 2 Beta. You may remember that One UI is Samsung’s proprietary Android-based software. The screenshot shows a hidden setting in the phone that enables refreshing of the screen not at the usual 60Hz but at 120Hz. That’s much faster than the 90Hz refresh rate used by the display on models like the Realme X2 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and Google Pixel 4.

According to Ice universe, the refresh rate options available in One UI 2 Beta are: “1. Turn off the high refresh rate mode and keep 60Hz. 2. Turn on the high refresh rate mode and keep 120Hz. 3. Turn on the high refresh rate mode and switch automatically between 60Hz and 120Hz.” The tipster is assuming that the Galaxy S11 will get the 120Hz panel based on the screenshots taken from the beta version of One UI 2. There’s a chance that this may not happen, so we recommend you take this news with a pinch of salt.

Ice universe says the Samsung Galaxy S11 “has been certified in China, using TA800 charger,” which means it should get 25W fast charging. This piece of unconfirmed news goes in the tub of information we already have on the phone, which includes the possible screen sizes the Galaxy S11 will come in (6.2/6.4 inches, 6.7 inches, 6.9 inches) and the new patented ‘Space Zoom’ feature it could come with for lossless zoom. You can read more about that here.

Nokia 22 receives a price cut in India, now starts at Rs 5,999

The Nokia 2.2 has seen a price drop in India. The smartphone is now priced at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM + 16GB storage variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant. Launched back in June 2019, the smartphone had an ‘introductory’ price of Rs 6,999 and Rs 7,999 for each variant, respectively. The new price of the Nokia 2.2 is reflected on Nokia’s own website and on Flipkart.

Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, the Nokia 2.2 is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC coupled with 2GB and 3GB RAM options, and 16GB and 32GB storage options. The entire package is powered by a 3,000mAh removable battery. On the front, there’s a 5.71-inch 720p LCD display with 400 nits of brightness. A waterdrop notch houses the 5MP front camera. The front camera can also be used for face unlock.

At the back, we have a single 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 1/3” sensor. The camera on the device comes with Nokia’s proprietary AI imaging algorithm called “AI-powered low light image fusion”. What it does is that it takes multiple photos across a range of exposure and apply noise reduction algorithms on it.

The Nokia 2.2 runs on Android 9 out of the box and the storage is expandable via a MicroSD card. It is a dual-SIM phone with a dedicated expansion slot. The smartphone has a dedicated Google Assistant button.

In our review of the Nokia 2.2 we noted that the removable battery, Android One features and Dedicated Google Assistant key were the pros of the phone while the overall poor performance of the device and the camera worked against it. You can check out our review of the smartphone here.
