Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, Note 10 Lite, A51, A71 prices leak

The prices of four Samsung Galaxy smartphones have leaked just a few days ahead of the global launch of one of them. The four upcoming models are the Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy A71, and Galaxy A51. The Samsung Galaxy A51 is a mid-range model that's expected to be launched later this week, on December 12, while the rest of them are expected to go on sale in Europe before we ring in the new year. The launch date of these models in India is unknown at the moment. You can read more about the Galaxy A51 here.

According to Dutch publisher GalaxyClub's recent report, the prices of these upcoming models were spotted on an online Slovakian electronics store called DATART. Understandably, the store's page that revealed the prices has since been taken down. But if the screenshots grabbed of the store's pages are anything to go by, then we have a rough idea of what these models will cost when they make it to the Indian market. As always, since this information is not from a confirmed source, we advise you to take it with a pinch of salt.

The Galaxy S10 Lite, which is a cheaper variant of the brand's popular Galaxy S10, was listed with a price tag of 669 euros (Rs 52,500 approx). The Galaxy Note 10 Lite, which is a cheaper variant of the Galaxy Note 10 that was launched earlier this year, was seen costing 609 euros (Rs 47,800 approx). The Galaxy A71, which is said to look similar to the Note 10, was spotted with a price tag of 469 euros (Rs 36,800 approx). Finally, the Galaxy A51, which is set to be launched later this week, was seen costing 375 euros (Rs 29,435 approx).

Leaked and speculated details about the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite have been flowing in for many weeks now. From what we know, it will pack a fairly large internal battery (of 4370mAh capacity) with a 45W fast charging kit, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. It will also have a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The ‘lite’ version of the popular Galaxy S10 is also expected to feature three cameras on the back, including a 48MP primary sensor. You can read more about it here.

WhatsApp for Android gets second incoming call notification, battery drain fix

WhatsApp is known for receiving minor but steady feature updates every now and then on Android and iOS devices alike. In the most recent stable update (version 2.19.352) of the Android app, WhatsApp has received a partial ‘call waiting’ feature. It has also received a fix for the battery drain issue that has reportedly been plaguing many devices running WhatsApp of late. The popular messaging app received similar support for call handling on iOS a couple of weeks ago. You can read more about that here.

WhatsApp’s changelog for the latest stable version on Android reads, “Added call waiting support so you can choose to accept an incoming WhatsApp call while you’re already on another call.” But this feature on WhatsApp is merely a notification for the second incoming call, rather than call waiting in its most typical sense. On regular calls where call waiting is enabled, you can accept a second incoming call while placing the current call on hold. You can then effectively juggle the two calls as you please while having one on hold.

On WhatsApp, however, the second incoming call gets a notification with two action buttons: ‘Decline’ and ‘End & Accept’, but no option to place one on hold. Considering the fact that, until now, the second incoming call was disconnected abruptly without notifying the user, this is a step up in the app’s usability. This new notification works with WhatsApp calls but not with regular calls. A second incoming regular call (made through the phone’s default dialler app, that is) appears only as a missed call over the current WhatsApp call.

A few weeks ago, many users complained of increased battery drain on their phones. Many of them were OnePlus users. The cause for this drain was identified as a buggy WhatsApp update. The Facebook-owned messaging app company, which sent out a fix for the issue soon after, has finally recorded it in the changelog of the latest update. The changelog also finally includes the fingerprint lock feature and group privacy settings, which were rolled out a few weeks ago. You can read more about those features here and here.

OnePlus 8 Lite leaked renders hint at dual rear cameras, punch-hole display

OnePlus could be gearing up to return to the mid-range smartphone segment as the latest leaked renders hint at the launch of OnePlus 8 Lite. After the alleged leak of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, leak-based CAD renders and a 360-degree video of the OnePlus 8 Lite have been leaked. The renders show a centrally-positioned hole-punch camera at the top similar to the Galaxy Note10-series.

The latest development comes from OnLeaks in collaboration with 91Mobiles. The phone is shown to sport a dual rear camera setup housed in a large black module. Moreover, the back panel shares some resemblance with the Glacier Blue colour of the OnePlus 7T. The camera setup is accompanied by a laser autofocus module alongside the LED flash.

OnePlus 8 Lite

Coming to the front of the device, the OnePlus 8 Lite renders hint at a Galaxy Note10-like display. The OnePlus 8 Lite is shown to sport a centrally placed punch hole display. The positioning is different from what we saw on the renders of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro - they are supposed to have the punch-hole on the left corner. Further, OnePlus 8 Lite is said to come equipped with a USB Type-C port. However, a 3.5mm headphone jack cannot be seen on the device.

The OnePlus 8 Pro rumours hint at dual punch-hole display and a curved display like the OnePlus 7 Pro. The rear panel is said to have a quad-camera setup with three lenses and an LED flash arranged in a vertical strip and a fourth camera placed alongside it. The alleged OnePlus 8 Pro prototype can be seen sporting a different gradient appeal than the OnePlus 7T series.

OnePlus 8 Pro is said to feature a display with a 120Hz refresh rate.  For reference, ROG phone II is the only phone in the current market that supports a panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
