Samsung Galaxy S11+ could sport an exclusive 108MP sensor

Samsung is rumoured to launch the Galaxy S11+ alongside the Galaxy S11 and Galaxy S11e, early next year. Moreover, Samsung Galaxy S11+ rumours have already started trickling in. After the renders for the next Galaxy flagship surfaced online, new information surrounding the device has now been leaked. The Samsung Galaxy S11+ is said to sport a custom 108MP camera sensor that will be different than the ISOCELL HMX Bright sensor unveiled a few months ago.

The latest development comes from tipster Ice Universe, who took to Twitter to reveal that the most premium variant of the Galaxy S11 lineup will feature an exclusive 108MP sensor. The tweet says, “The Galaxy S11+ uses a 1 / 1.3-inch 108MP Samsung exclusive custom sensor, which is superior in quality to ISOCELL Bright HMX and has a high cost.” The new sensor will be different from the one used on the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. However, what will be “superior” in the new sensor remains unknown.

The Galaxy S11+ uses a 1 / 1.3-inch 108MP Samsung exclusive custom sensor, which is superior in quality to ISOCELL Bright HMX and has a high cost.

— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) December 8, 2019

To recall, earlier rumours have claimed that Samsung Galaxy S11 will feature a 2nd-generation 108MP sensor. While many of us were assuming that Samsung will use the recently unveiled ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, there could be a second-generation 108MP sensor in development.

Samsung Galaxy S11+ is said to feature a rectangular camera module that may sport up to five sensors along with laser autofocus and a flash. In the alleged renders, two of the sensors are smaller than the other three. As for video, the S11+ can reportedly shoot 8K videos.

On the front, the S11+ will stick to the curved display. Previous leaks suggest the display will be as large as 6.9-inches while the panel itself will be Samsung’s own Dynamic AMOLED display. Further, it is rumoured that Samsung Galaxy S11+ will come equipped with a120Hz refresh rate in the display. The renders also reveal the Galaxy S11+ will have a single punch-hole camera instead of the dual-camera stack in the S10+.
