Leaks and rumours have revealed the internal specifications such as processor and camera resolution of the smartphone already. Now, Galaxy S10 Lite specifications have reportedly leaked online.

The latest development comes from WinFuture website. The report claims that Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will feature a  6.7-inch 1080x2400 Super AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone design has already leaked and it is supposed to have a centrally aligned punch-hole for the selfie shooter.

On the optics front, as per the report, Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will sport a 48MP primary camera with OIS and an f/2.0 aperture. Tata Nexon EV announced with 300km range

After weeks of posting previews and teaser videos on its social media channels, Tata Motors has officially taken the wraps off the Nexon EV, its all-electric subcompact SUV based on the outgoing Tata Nexon. According to the Indian automaker, the Nexon EV delivers a claimed driving range of over 300 kilometres on a single charge. Available in three variants and three colour options, the Nexon EV can be pre-booked starting today for an amount of Rs 21,000 although the car will be launched officially in January 2020. The Tata Nexon EV is expected to be priced at around Rs 15 lakh.

The Nexon EV is the first in Tata Motors’ stable to use the company’s proprietary Ziptron EV powertrain. First announced in September, Ziptron will find its way to future Tata EVs such as the electric version of the upcoming Altroz hatchback. The Nexon EV is equipped with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery, which Tata says is good for up to 300 kilometres on a single charge. It can regain 80 per cent of its full charge within an hour when the car is plugged into a Fast DC charger. It can also be charged using a 15-amp domestic power socket.

7-inch Harman infotainment system on the dash

The Nexon EV’s permanent-magnet AC motor pushes out 129 horsepower (and 245 Nm of torque), which Tata believes can push the car from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 9.9 seconds. The car allows the driver to choose from two driving modes, namely Drive and Sport. In addition, it features Hill Assist and Descent Assist to make sloped terrains easier to tackle. Of course, there’s also regenerative braking on board, which charges the battery when the car is either coasting or braking. The high-density liquid-cooled battery pack is IP67-rated for dust- and water-resistance. Lastly, the Nexon EV’s battery and motor come with an eight-year warranty.

The Nexon EV is available in three variants, namely XZ+ LUX, XZ+, and XM, where the first two feature dual-tone colours. Colour options include Signature Teal Blue colour, Moonlit Silver and Glacier White. On the inside, the Nexon EV sports a 7-inch touchscreen display from Harman for infotainment with native support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition, the Nexon EV can be controlled remotely using the owner’s Android/iOS smartphone with the proprietary ZConnect app. It will also help the owner locate nearby charging stations, set speed alerts, track the vehicle, etc.

Facebooks apps grab top four spots for most popular apps of the decade

As this decade comes to a close, App Annie, an analytics firm has published a report for the most downloaded apps and games of the last ten years. Despite data privacy scandals and courting controversies for a couple of years, Facebook has dominated the list. The top four spots are claimed by Facebook's family of apps - Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram.

"Communication and social media apps are consumer favourites, accounting for 7 of the top 10 apps by downloads this decade," says App Annie.

The remaining six apps on the list are what one would expect-  microtransaction games, social media and telecommunications apps. Snapchat has grabbed the fifth spot, while Skype has managed to snag the sixth spot. Despite its short history, TikTok can be found at number seven in the list of top 10 most downloaded apps of this decade. TikTok is followed by UC Browser, YouTube and Twitter at number 8, 9 and 10 respectively.

However, none of the Facebook apps made it to the list in terms of top apps by spend. Unsurprisingly, this category was dominated by video and music apps like Netflix. The only non-audio/video app in the category is Tinder,  which came in second in terms of consumer spending.

Coming to the most downloaded game, Subway Surfers grabbed the first spot followed by Candy Crush Saga and Temple Run 2 takes the third spot. Further, Clash of Clans came in fifth. My Talking Tom grabs the 4th spot.

In terms of consumer spend, Clash of Clans ranked number 1 and is followed by Monster Strike and Candy Crush Saga. Within its short span of existence, Pokemon Go made it to the list as well and ranked eighth.

WhatsApp patches bug that wipes group chat data, forces app crashes

WhatsApp is one of the most popular online messaging platforms available. A recent report by App Annie reiterated this when the app claimed the fourth position in the world's most downloaded apps worldwide. With a wide user base, it is necessary that the company takes measures to protect user data and it claims to do so with its end-to-end encryption and other methods. However, exploiting a vulnerability in the app, folks over at Check Point Research built a tool that can modify a message before it’s sent and crash-loop the app in the process, rendering it unusable. WhatsApp was notified of the flaw in August 2019 and the company patched it in versions 2.19.246 and above.

The report also recreates the flaw and displays how the tool it created can be used to crash WhatsApp for participants of a group. Because of the bug, the app keeps crashes and one has to reinstall it to access it again. Additionally, the crafted message sent on the group will force the chat history to be wiped clean and cause data loss. The group will also need to be deleted to remove the malicious message, which crashes the app.

“In WhatsApp there are many important groups with valuable content. If an attacker uses this technique and crashes one of these groups all chat history will be gone and further communication would be impossible. The impact of this vulnerability is potentially tremendous, since WhatsApp is the main communication service for many people. Thus, the bug compromises the availability of the app which is crucial for our daily activities.” state Check Point's researchers Dikla Barda, Roman Zaikin and Yaara Shriki.

Since the researchers developed a special tool and responsibly informed the chat app developers, chances of the flaw being exploited are low. Still, we suggest you update to the latest version of WhatsApp to be safe.
