iQOO 3 with Snapdragon 865 SoC launched in India: Everything you need to know

iQOO has officially entered the Indian smartphone market with the launch of iQOO 3. The handset boasts of a 91.40 percent screen to body ratio, supports 55W fast charging and more. Both the 4G and 5G variants are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. Here’s everything you need to know about the handset.

iQOO 3 specifications

iQOO 3 features a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution. It supports HDR 10+ and has a 409 PPI. The company says it sports a 91.40 percent screen to body ratio. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 and it has 180Hz touch screen frequency rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, paired with Adreno 650. The storage options include 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 and 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The handset also comes equipped with a "monster touch button" for better gaming.

As for the optics, the iQOO 3 sports a quad rear camera setup: 48MP (f/1.79) + 13MP (f/2.46) +13MP (f/2.2)+ 2MP (f/2.4). It comes with features like Super night mode, Super Anti Shake, Portrait Bokeh, Portrait light effects, AR stickers, AI Makeup, Super wide-angle  (Photo+Video), Super macro, Portrait framing, AI HDR, slow-mo, Pro Mode and more. On the front lies a 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.45 aperture. The handset supports up to 4K 1080P  and 720P video recording resolution and 4K at 60FPS.

The smartphone packs a 4440mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging tech, which is being called “Super FlashCharge.” The phone comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Other features include Game Center, Ultra Game Mode,  Smart Split, and Eye Protection Mode. It runs Android 10 based on iQOO UI.

The handset comes in both 4G and 5G models. 

iQOO 3 price in India

The smartphone comes in Volcano Orange, Quantum Silver and Tornado Black colour options. The base variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at Rs 36,990. The 256GB 4G model costs Rs 39,990. Further, the 5G model has been priced at Rs 44,990. The sale starts on March 4, 12 noon onwards.

We get up-close with the 100x zoom on the Samsung S20 Ultra

Samsung recently launched their latest line up of the Galaxy range of phones on 11 February at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. These phones are essentially the next generation of smartphones from Samsung and supposed to replace the S10 range of phones. So, we here at Digit made our way to the Samsung Galaxy S20 India launch event and got our hands on all three of the Galaxy S20 smartphones. One of the key features of Samsung’s flagships for 2020 are the cameras and what they can do. So, we checked out the 0.5X to 100X zoom on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Single Take Mode on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus, and Photo, Video and Night Modes on the S20 Plus. We also clicked some sample images on the S20 Plus which are shown here in this video at the end. Here are our first impressions of the cameras on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S20 Plus series of smartphones. 

SAMSUNG GALAXY S20, GALAXY S20+ SPECIFICATIONS

The entry-level Galaxy S20 features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, whereas the Galaxy S20+ comes equipped with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Both the smartphones sport a Quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. They have an Infinity O panel with close to bezel-less design, which houses the front-facing camera. On the optics front, the Galaxy S20 comes with a triple rear camera setup: a 12MP primary lens + 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 120-degree FoV and an f/2.2 aperture + a 64MP telephoto camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The Galaxy S20+ has the same set of cameras, but it comes equipped with a depth sensor (making it a quad-camera). The rear camera setup features Space Zoom, which is a hybrid optic zoom of 3X, and a super-resolution zoom of up to 30X. There is also a new feature called 'Single Take’ that captures a short video, along with a photo from all the sensors, for various perspectives. On the front lies a 10MP selfie shooter.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S20 ULTRA SPECIFICATIONS

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is the most premium offering from the company. It features a 6.9-inch QHD Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. While the chipset remains the same as its younger siblings, it comes with either 12GB or 16GB RAM. Storage options range from  128GB, 256GB and 512GB for both the LTE and 5G variants. The handset packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, through the optional adapter.

Apart from the wide-angle and depth cameras, the primary camera is a 108MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture that supports OIS and PDAF. It gets a 48MP telephoto lens with an f/3.5 aperture, PDAF and OIS. The Galaxy S20 Ultra also features a new periscope-style telephoto lens, which allows it to achieve 10x hybrid optical zoom and maximum ‘Super-Resolution Zoom' of up to 100x. On the front lies a 40MP selfie shooter.

Huawei Mate Xs foldable phone with improved hinge, Leica quad cameras, and more launched

Huawei has officially introduced the successor to its first foldable phone. The Huawei Mate Xs has been launched at the company’s online event. The new foldable phone features an improved hinge mechanism. Moreover, the device is just 5.4mm at its thinnest point. The phone features a 6.6-inch (2480 x 1148 pixels) 19.5:9 OLED display when folded and an 8-inch (2480 x 2200 pixels) OLED 8:7.1 display when unfolded. 

The Huawei Mate Xs is powered by the Kirin 990 5G chipset, paired with ARM Mali-G76MP16 GPU and Dual Big Core + Tiny Core NPUs(Neural-network Processing Unit). It comes with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB with NM card. The handset runs Android 10 and comes without Google Play services. Instead, users will have to rely on HMS for their needs. 

On the optics front, the foldable phone sports a triple camera setup: a 40MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture + a 16MP Ultra Wide Angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 2.5cm macro + an 8MP Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom, 30x digital zoom, OIS and Huawei Time-of-Flight (TOF) Camera.  The device comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. 

It has dual speakers. Connectivity options include 5G Multi-mode,Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz) (wave2), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS (L1 + L5 dual band), NFC and USB Type-C (GEN1). The phone packs a 4500mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging technology. 

The Mate Xs foldable phone comes in Interstellar Blue colour. It is priced at 2499 Euros (approx Rs 1,95,245) and will roll out globally starting from next month.

iQOO 3 to be launched in India today: Live stream, specs and more

The Vivo sub-brand iQOO is all set to launch its first smartphone in India today. The handset is teased to come equipped with a quad rear camera and feature a punch-hole display. The brand first debuted in China last year. However, it is entering as a separate legal entity. The iQOO 3 launch will be live-streamed through iQoo India's social media channels. iQOO 3 expected specifications

iQOO has said that it will launch both 4G and 5G variants of the smartphone in India. Both of them are confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. The iQOO 3 is rumoured to come with a ‘Polar View Display' with a Super AMOLED panel. It is teaser to feature LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone is also tipped to have artificial intelligence (AI) based eye-tracking technology. 

The iQOO 3 will sport a 48MP primary camera sensor. It was also leaked in a Geekbench listing, which suggested at least 12GB of RAM. The handset could pack a 4410mAh battery and come with Android 10 out of the box with a new interface on top.

The iQOO 3 price in India is said to start at Rs 35,000 for the 4G variant. The 5G model is tipped to cost above Rs 40,000. It is expected to go on sale through offline channels alongside its online available teased via Flipkart.

Our Realme X50 Pro camera review leaves us asking for more

The Realme X50 Pro has just been launched in India today and is the first 5G smartphone to be launched in the country. Of course, the phone is the first 5G device to be launched as Realme managed to beat out the release date of the IQOO 3 by one day. The Realme X50 Pro is also the first phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. We’ve just gotten the phone in our hands and will be running our battery of tests and benchmarks for a full, detailed review. But for now, we’ve pushed the camera for testing purposes and have the results right here in the video embedded below. Check it out to find out what the camera on the Realme X50 Pro is capable of. 

When it comes to the camera and the Realme X50 Pro features as many as six cameras, four of which sit on the rear panel, and two, on the front. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip and features Dual Mode 5G. The Realme X50 Pro is priced at Rs 37,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will cost around Rs 39,999.
