Call of Duty: Mobile teases new Gulag Showers map

Call of Duty Mobile is teasing another new map for the game. However, just like Rust before, the community quickly recognised it as the Gulag Showers map. The map is based on a level in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However, it should be noted that the map is pretty small and may be limited to 2v2 or 1v1 matches instead of the traditional 5v5 matches in call of duty mobile. In fact, a leaked video also seems to suggest the same. It is not yet known when the new map will be added to the game. However, it stands to reason that the new map will be released sometime next month.

Activision is also set to introduce a bunch of new changes to Call of Duty: Mobile next month. This includes an expansion of the Battle Royale map. The new map will see new areas added to the North and North-Eastern corners. The developers have also confirmed the addition of a new assault rifle called the HBRa3 that was first introduced in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The Public Test Servers from Garena are leaking out lots of information and features that may soon be added to the game. This includes information about new perks, scorestreaks and operator skills. As well as new additions to Battle Royale mode. All these features will most likely be a part of the Season 7 update.

Currently, Call of Duty: Mobile is running a whole host of challenges and events. This gives players the opportunity to earn weapons like the Pharo SMG, the Locus sniper rifle, the Cordite SMG and the Cryo Grenade. There is also a new event that gives players the chance to earn the new Poltergeist battle royale class.

New RedmiBook teased to come with Ryzen 4000 CPU and three performance modes

Xiaomi is prepping to launch a slew of products on May 26 in China. The following products include Redmi 10X, Redmi Smart TV X series, and a new RedmiBook model. The company has been teasing the upcoming products in Weibo. While Redmi 10X has only a few surprises to bring, the RedmiBook has kept lowkey in terms of details.

However, the company took its official Mi Notebook, and Lu Weibing Weibo account to confirm that the new RedmiBook will come with AMD Ryzen 400 series CPU. Recently, the brand officially announced that the laptop would have three performance modes for the distinct use cases— 'Full Speed', 'Balanced', and 'Quiet'. The company says these modes are suitable for gaming, office work, and basic tasks, respectively. The 'Full Speed' mode is said to increase the performance by 34.5 percent.

The teaser also unveils that the RedmiBook will arrive with new heat dissipation (thermal cooling) system with large fans and coarse heat pipe and will also feature smart unlock using Mi Bands. Also, Xiaomi recently released an update for the Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 4 with the feature.

Previous teasers have revealed that the new RedmiBook will sport a 16.1-inch display with 90% screen-to-body ratio, 3.26mm border width and 100% sRGB colour gamut. Xiaomi also claims a 60 percent performance boost with rumoured Ryzen 7 4700U processor. Beyond this, users can also configure Ryzen 5 4500U processor on the upcoming notebook.

This new RedmiBook will be an update over the existing 14-inch RedmiBook. The laptop has been long-rumoured to hit Indian shores, but there hasn't been any official confirmation from the company. However, the latest reports claim that it will debut in India sometime in June.

Apple may launch AirPods Studio headphones sooner than expected: Report

Apple is reportedly planning to launch the long-rumoured over-ear noise cancelling headphone under Apple branding dubbed AirPods Studio.

The high-end headphones were first rumoured in February 2018 by former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Later, it was estimated that the headphones would launch sometime in the second half of 2020. Still, a new report from Digitimes indicates that the production of the new headphone is already underway and it could be unveiled sooner than expected.

As per Digitimes, Apple is likely to kill its wired earphones production and resume the AirPods 2 production in the second half of the year. The source also claims that production for Apple rumoured AirPods Studio headphones has now begun.

Apple AirPods Studio: What to expect?

There has been a lot of confusion around the launch of Apple's premium over-ear headphones. It will be the first Apple-branded over-ear headphones ever. As per YouTuber Jon Prosser, the new headphones will join the AirPods lineup alongside the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro, and it's supposed to be different from Apple's Beats lineup, which happens to have a wide range of over-ear headphones.

As per the rumours, AirPods Studio will come with Active noise-cancelling, which cuts down unwanted noise to let you focus on the audio. It is likely to come with a transparency mode that reduces the audio volume and let you hear the ambient noise.

Bloomberg reported that Apple had tested at least two versions of the headphones - a high-end premium variant and a fitness-oriented made with lightweight materials. Both the options are said to have magnetically swappable ear cups and headband padding that will let users customise its look by merely switching the padding, similar to Apple Watch bands.

As per a report by 9to5Mac, it is said to have AirPods-like sensor-based ear detection feature that stops the music when the earphones are taken off. In place of ear detection, Apple is working to include sensors that can detect whether the headphones are on your head or neck. It is said to boast of a new sensor that will enable the headphones to recognise left and right ears to route audio channels automatically. Which means, there won't be fixed left or right earcups and can be worn without checking for left and right channel.

The price is rumoured to be USD 350 (approx INR 26,500). If this turns out to be accurate, it will compete against other noise-cancelling headphones from companies like Bose and Sony.

Reliance launches JioMart in more than 200 towns across India

Reliance Industries Ltd has officially launched its online grocery delivery service- JioMart in more than 200 towns across India. The service is now active in across Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Trivandrum and some other tier-II cities too. Reliance has made the JioMart website live after running a pilot for limited pin codes in Mumbai. Customers can now log on to jiomart.com to place an order. Note that the app is not live yet, but it may follow soon.

JioMart will deliver groceries in more than 200 towns across the country, Damodar Mall, CEO, Reliance Retail, said on Twitter late on Saturday. As of now, the JioMart website has listed essential grocery, FMCG goods and farm produce. The company also says it has collaborated with farmers to source selling fruits and vegetables from them. A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that product catalogue on JioMart's website would be expanded after lockdown restrictions are eased.

With JioMart, Reliance will rival against the existing giants like Amazon India, Walmart's Flipkart, and other leading micro delivery players like BBDaily, Grofers, Milkbasket and Swiggy's Supr Daily. The fresh produce supply chain connecting farmers to businesses will take on existing players like Crofarm and Ninjacart.

JioMart: a clear threat to competition

JioMart's entry is not a surprise as the company was preparing for a rollout way before the country got hit with Coronavirus pandemic. Now, since the online demand for daily essentials and FMCG good is booming, Reliance sees it as the perfect time to enter the market. "Never waste a crisis, they say!" Mall said in his tweet. He also shared Alibaba's case by quoting his colleague, who said, "Alibaba also flourished starting from the SARS crisis."

We've seen Reliance Jio disrupting the telecom sector, and being the largest offline retailer having 11,784 stores and a massive amount of user base on the Jio platform; it is already well equipped to take on the smaller players. On top, Jio recently got funded by Facebook, and other firms totalling a hefty investment of Rs 78,562 crores (approx. USD 7 billion).

Since Facebook now has ties with Reliance Jio, the company is also expected to utilise Facebook-owned services like WhatsApp, Messenger, and Facebook app to integrate shopping feature and reach a broader user base. Facebook told that it had a daily active user base of 1.6 billion in India by Q4, 2019. The company confirmed to Techcrunch that its messaging service WhatsApp had 400 million users in India as of July 2019. JioMart launched its WhatsApp business account, enabling people to track their order and invoice directly on the messenger app. It gives us more reasons to expect something similar going forward, especially after WhatsApp gets a green signal to launch its payment feature in the country.

Lastly, Prime Minister's push to support for getting 'vocal for local' might also drive some customers towards the platform as Jio has grown as one of the biggest homegrown brands to become a household name in no time.
