OnePlus TV 32-inch and 43-inch certified by Bluetooth SIG

The OnePlus TV is just around the corner and if the information available on Bluetooth SIG is to be believed, then it looks like we are getting three TVs from OnePlus this year. The listing dated 9 June 2020 shows the 32-inch and 43-inch OnePlus TV getting Bluetooth certification while the listing dated 19 May 2020 highlights a 55-inch TV. Curiously enough though, there are two Bluetooth remote controls as well receiving the Bluetooth certifications. The model numbers of the remote controls as listed on Bluetooth SIG are RC-002B and RC-002C.

Coming back to the 32 and 43-inch OnePlus TVs, the model numbers have the “H” and “F” hinting that the 32-inch TV could be an HD ready TV while the 43-inch TV could be an FHD TV. To recall, the 55-inch Q1 and Q1 Pro launched in 2019 were 4K UHD TVs. The 55-inch TV which received Bluetooth certification in May has the model number 55UA0A00 and the “U” could stand for a UHD TV.

If this is the case, then it looks like OnePlus is looking to cater to a wider audience with the TVs. The 32-inch and 43-inch TVs could cater to the budding entry-level segment in India. We have recently seen the launch of the Realme 32-inch and 43-inch TV in India. Both the Realme TVs also boast of HDR and support Bluetooth 5.0. You can read more about the Realme TV and see how it compares to the competition here.

OnePlus has taken to Twitter to confirm that the OnePlus TV will start under Rs 20,000. The tweet reads, “The price of the New OnePlus TV Series will be starting from ₹1X,999. Can you guess the price?” Another teaser also highlights that the OnePlus TV will be available on Amazon India. You can read more about that here.

OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau took to Twitter to announce the reveal date for the upcoming OnePlus TV. His Tweet reads, “It's official. We're making our premium smart TV experience more accessible to our Indian community. #SmarterTV”. The launch event will be hosted at 7 PM IST, 2 July, via a Livestream. There is no information on the screen size, technology or design information about the upcoming OnePlus TV. You can read more about that here.

Call of Duty: Mobile reveals more information about upcoming Season 7 battle royale map expansion

While Activision has delayed the launch of Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 7 in the wake of the ongoing unrest in the United States. However, the developer is still teasing some of the new features that players can expect in the new update, most notably the new locations in the newly expanded areas in the Isolated Map.

The video was posted on Twitter and it details some of the new locations and has also revealed some very interesting details about the new locations.

Grand Tour deeper dive sneak peek in the new locations being added to #CODMobile Battle Royale! ⁣ Follow & Retweet More Details Soon via Community Update. pic.twitter.com/UygHy4idM1

— Call of Duty Mobile News (@Beta_CODMobile) June 8, 2020 Downtown

Downtown is a small town characterized by a large, three-storey ballroom located in the middle. This area should offer lots of urban warfare and CQB battles.

Black Market

The Black Market seems like your average small town, but underneath is a surveillance centre than can be very important tactically. The area is said to be able to pinpoint the location of enemies and possibly even vehicles and weapons.

Harbor

The biggest feature of Harbor is the decommissioned ship that is docked. The video notes that the ship still contains toxic barrels used for chemical warfare. Shooting these barrels can cause these gases to be released. This means players will need to have situational awareness when engaging enemies.

Besides this, the video also shows a few other locations such as Skitown, Heat and Sanatarium. While detail about these locations was not given, they seem to have more focus on CQB combat, especially Sanatarium, which may offer pitched indoor battles.

To recall, Activision was supposed to release the Season 7 update for the game earlier this month. It will have the theme of Radioactive Agent and seems to have a greater focus on the Battle Royale mode. Besides expanding the Isolated map, the mode is also expected to see the introduction of tanks as well as a new boss. A new launch date for the update has not yet been confirmed by the company.

Contact-less ATM withdrawals using smartphones is being tested in India

Among the many things that are deemed risky in this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, withdrawing cash from ATMs should be right up there with others. Using an ATM requires you to touch buttons on a machine that was used previously by another person who could possibly be infected. A solution to it is to have contact-less ATM withdrawals and that’s exactly what this firm is trying to provide to banks.

AGS Transact Technologies Limited (AGSTTL), a company that deals with cash and digital payment solutions and automation tech said it has successfully developed a solution for ATMs that will help battle the COVID-19 pandemic by making ATMs harmless again.

Contact-less ATM withdrawals using smartphones

The contact-less solution is being demoed to interested banks at present. The good thing about the technology is that it doesn’t need a physical upgrade of the ATM machine. Instead, a software update of the ATM machine can enable contact-less transactions. The solution relies on a QR code to be scanned from the bank’s mobile app to begin the authentication process.

Here’s how it works —

1. Open the bank’s mobile app and select QR code withdrawal. 2. Enter the amount you wish to withdraw from the ATM on the mobile app. 3. Scan the QR code that will be displayed on the ATM screen. 4. Confirm the amount by clicking on ‘proceed’ in the app. 5. Enter the ATM pin to authenticate the transaction. 6. Collect your cash and receipt.

Contact-less solutions are being adopted in almost every facet of public life in India to prevent the infection from spreading further. Recently, telecom companies Vodafone Idea, Reliance Jio and Airtel said they are looking at ways to enable contact-less SIM card sales, while multiple startups are enabling grocery stores to start online delivery to reduce crowding at the counter. Food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy are also promoting contact-less deliveries to its customers. In short, minimal physical contact seems to be the only solution to flattening the curve in the absence of a vaccine for the novel Coronavirus. As of publishing the story, India's COVID-19 tally stands at 267,046 with 1,118 cases added so far with 66 patients having recovered today. You can keep an eye on the recovery rate in this tracker on our website.
