Oppo Find X2, Find X2 Pro launched in India: Specification, pricing and availability

Oppo Find X2 and Oppo Find X2 Pro have launched in India as the latest flagship smartphones by the Chinese manufacturer. The Find X2 series was unveiled on March 6 and is a much-anticipated smartphone taking on the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 10, not-so-distant cousin OnePlus 8 Pro and more. 

The Find X2 series is 5G-ready and comes with the latest hardware under the hood such as the flagship Qualcomm processor, versatile rear cameras, QHD+ display and fast battery charging. Both the phones are well-crafted and have a premium finish.

Let’s take a look at the specifications, pricing, availability of the Oppo Find X2 series.

Oppo Find X2, Find X2 Pro pricing and availability

Oppo Find X2 comes in a single variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage which is priced at Rs 64,990. It is up for pre-orders on Amazon India. There's no word on the availability of the Find X2 Pro as of writing this story.

Oppo Find X2 Pro and Find X2 specifications

Oppo Find X2 Pro comes in a ceramic finish and measures 8.8 millimetres thick, weighing in at 217 grams. The phone if IP68 rated which makes it resistant to dust and water ingress for 1.5 meters or 30 minutes. 

The Find X2 Pro features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3168 x 1440 pixels) resolution display that uses an AMOLED panel with a punch-hole cutout in the top-corner for the selfie camera. The screen has a 120Hz high-refresh-rate and is HDR10+ certified. It is also topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass 6 for added protection against regular wear and tear.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 650 GPU. This is further paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage options to choose from. The phone runs on Android 10 based ColorOS 7.1 out-of-the-box.

It comes with a triple camera setup that consists of a primary 48MP camera with an f/1.7 aperture and OIS support, a secondary 13MP telephoto-periscope lens with f/3.0 aperture and 5x optical zoom and a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The rear cameras can shoot 4K UHD at up to 60fps backed by Electronic Image Stabilization. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera housed within the punch-hole cutout.

An optical fingerprint sensor is housed under the screen and the phone is packed with a 4,200mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging out-of-the-box. Oppo claims that its Super VOOC 2.0 charging solution can recharge the phone from 0-100 per cent in 38 minutes flat.

As for the regular Oppo Find X2, it features the same set of hardware including the display, processor and battery. However, the camera setup uses a 13 MP telephoto lens instead of a periscope one, along with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera supported by dual-LED flash. The Find X2 is also IP54 rated, unlike the Pro version, making it dust-proof and splash-resistant. It is also a bit lightweight at 209 grams and thinner at 8 millimetres.

Xbox Smart Delivery: What exactly is it and what games support it

With the console wars heating up between the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, it looks like Xbox is offering a few new options for gamers. Both console manufacturers have now shown off their new consoles and the choice between the two is going to depend on exclusives and how gamers can move forward on their respective consoles. Xbox is actually offering something called Smart Delivery. Don’t worry, we’re going to break down what exactly it is and what are the games that are supported bu it. 

Basically, Xbox’s Smart Delivery system ensures that if you buy a game for the Xbox One, let’s say Gears 5 (review), and you decide to buy an Xbox Series X in the near future, you will not need to buy the game a second time to play it on the Xbox Series X. For example, if you’re planning on buying Halo Infinite for the Xbox One X, when you do finally upgrade to an Xbox Series X, you can just download the game to your new console. It really is that easy. Even better, you’ll have the optimised version of the game on the Xbox Series X as well. You just have to buy the game once to play it on both consoles. DC Comics Announces 24-Hour Long Virtual Convention: DC FanDome

DC Comics has announced a free, global, virtual convention called DC FanDome. The virtual convention will be taking place on 22 August 2020 and will be accessible only for 24 hours.

Based on the blog from DC Comics, the convention will be showcasing a plethora of content with announcements from WB Games (new Batman game *wink-wink*), Film, TV and Comics. You would also get to hear from the cast and creators behind some of your favourite and upcoming feature films and TV series, which includes The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, SHAZAM!, Black Adam, Watchmen and The Suicide Squad to name just a few. Basically, everything DC Comics related in one-day!

Unlike other digital events such as Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, which are linear in fashion, this one is a convention. So, as a fan, you get to explore and pick and choose your route for the next 24-hours. DC Comics has also released an event map for the venue which includes sections such as DC Hall Of Heroes, DC WatchVerse, DC YouVerse, DC KidsVerse, DC InsiderVerse and DC FunVerse. DC Hall Of Heroes is the epicentre where all the special programming, content reveals and exclusive panels with regards to films, games and comics is expected to happen. This section is available to access and watch in several different languages including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

The DC WatchVerse would require you to sit back and join other virtual audiences to watch hours of must-see content including panels, exclusive screenings and never-seen-before footage from the cast and creators from DC Films, TV and Games. DC YouVerse is the fan section of the virtual convention where they will be showcasing fan arts and cosplays from around the world. DC KidsVerse is basically the kids section of the convention where they will be showcasing a bunch of family-friendly stuff for younger fans. DC InsiderVerse will be taking you on a ride through the creative insides of DC Comics and will also include a centrepiece video featuring the legendary artist and DC CCO/Publisher Jim Lee, President of DC-Based Film Production Walter Hamada and the creator of the DC TV Arrowverse, Greg Berlanti, who will be giving a 101-style introduction to the DC-Multiverse. Finally, you have the DC FunVerse which will include a whole bunch of DIY activities, cool shareables, digital giveaways and a merchandise store including some limited-edition exclusives.

DC FanDome will be accessible for 24 hours at DCFanDome.com and will let you pick and choose your route, thereby providing a convention-like feel to it. Acer One 14 laptop launched in India starting at Rs 22,999

Acer has launched the Acer One 14 laptop in India. The laptop starts at Rs 22,999 and will be available at the Acer E-store and at over 1500 Acer channel partner stores across India. The laptop has a 14-inch display and runs on the Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415U coupled with 4GB RAM along with support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. 

Speaking on this occasion, Sudhir Goel, Chief of Commercial Business Group, Acer India said, “I am thrilled to announce the launch of new affordable Acer One 14 laptop designed specially keeping in mind the enterprise & education sector. Acer has always tried to stay ahead of the consumer’s demand be it the productivity at work or empowering students. This launch will enable working professionals, students and teachers to optimize their time with the laptop offering best performance and features for the price. This is an excellent laptop when it comes to affordability, security & loaded operating system is concerned.”

Speaking of the specifications, the Acer One 14 runs on the Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415U coupled with 4GB DDR4 RAM. The RAM is expandable up to 32GB. The laptop has a 14-inch display. The laptop also boasts of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The laptop comes with an HD webcam with a built-in microphone, 1 Gigabit LAN port, 2 USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and 1 USB 2.0 Type-A port. It has a claimed battery life of up to 4 hours. The laptop runs on  Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit. 

Acer One 14 Price

The Acer One 14 is priced starting at Rs. Rs 22,999 and will be available at Acer E-store and at over 1500 Acer channel partner stores across India. The laptop comes with a three-year warranty. 

In other Acer news, the company launched a budget desktop dubbed the Acer Veriton N priced at Rs 9,999. The Acer Veriton N series PCs are powered by the Intel dual-core processor. There is a quad-core processor option as well. The CPU is coupled with 4GB RAM expandable up to 8GB. The new Acer Veriton N series comes with Microsoft Windows 10, and WiFi b/g/n ac for wireless connectivity. It is a small form factor desktop with VESA mounts. You can read more about it here. 

Acer also recently launched the upgraded Nitro 5 series laptop in India with up to 10th gen Intel Core i7 processors and RTX 2060 GPU. PUBG Mobiles Chinese version now receiving Erangel 20 along with other new features

PUBG Mobile announced Erangel 2.0 almost a year ago. However, since then, the map hasn’t yet made its way to players, while Miramar 2.0 did in the form of Mad Miramar. Although, it looks like players won’t have to wait too long. According to a video posted by notable YouTuber, Mr Ghost Gaming, the new map has made its way to Game for Peace, the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile. The YouTuber has also posted a video of the map.

Graphics and Layout

According to the YouTuber’s website, Erangel 2.0 will come with for realistic graphics for the sky, surface, seawater and vegetation. On top of this, the update has also unlocked the Ultra-High Quality option for players. 

It also adjusts the structure of some of the buildings on the map such as the addition of basements. A number of notable locations are also said to be reworked. This includes the Nuclear Plant, the Mine and the Prison areas that will now see a new layout, structural changes and resource restructuring. 

There are also new map elements like trenches, horse skeletons, abandoned tanks, and bunkers. The idea is to add a greater feeling of a land that has seen a major war in the recent past. 

Payload Mode 2.0

The game’s Payload Mode has also been updated with the addition of new weaponised vehicles, heavy weapons, and equipment. New vehicles include weaponized versions of the UZA jeep, Dacia, Buggy, off-road vehicles. New heavy weapons include the AT4-A laser tracking missile and the M202 quadruple rocket launcher. New equipment includes a UAV control terminal, individual soldier radar, and explosion-proof clothing.

OnePlus partners with Skyworth to manufacture TVs in India: Report

Information circulating the internet suggests that OnePlus has partnered with Skyworth to manufacture its TVs in India. OnePlus has done this to take advantage of zero import duties of the key component which is the open cell TV panel. It accounts for 70 percent of the cost of the TV. This will help OnePlus keep the cost of the TV down and be more competitive in the Indian market. According to the Economic Times, “The TV market bounced back after the COVID-19 lockdown, growing sales by 35-50% since last month over the pre-COVID period in January and February and even the same period last year. Companies like Sony, Samsung and Panasonic said they have reported 1.5 to 2 times sales growth in large screen models”.

It is clear that people will be staying at home a lot more even though the lockdown has eased in parts of the country and the large black mirror in the house will be the primary source of entertainment. When OnePlus entered the TV market in India in 2019 with the launch of the Q1 and Q1 Pro, the TVs were quite premium priced. It looks like OnePlus wants to price their TVs competitively this time around. OnePlus has already confirmed that their new TV will start below Rs 20,000 in India and have teased that the TV will support 93 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. We think this spec will be reserved for the flagship TV. If the Bluetooth certification is to be believed, then we can expect a 32-inch HD ready, 43-inch FHD and 55-inch 4K TV from OnePlus on July 2.
