GOG is Giving Away a Free Copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Should You Own it Elsewhere

Galaxy of Games is giving away a free copy of the 2015 Game of the Year, the action-adventure role-playing game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, for a limited time. The game will be available to redeem for free on the GOG client till 23 June 2020, 4:30 PM IST. But, with a catch. You will need to own the game on a different platform before redeeming the one on GOG. You can check out the tweet here.

All you need to do to get the freebie is download the GOG Galaxy client, sign in and connect your GOG account to whichever other account or platform you already own the game on. The platform choice is not limited to Steam only. It could be Epic Games Store, Origin, PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. Once connected, the game should be activated on your GOG account with all your progress and achievements carried over as well. As for what version of the game you will be receiving, it all depends upon what version you own. So, if you have a version that includes the DLCs, they should get redeemed on here as well. For now, GOG is investigating an activation issue with the Steam version of The Witcher 3: Game of the Year edition, where it only ends up redeeming the base version of the game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a highly story-driven action-adventure role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red. The game lets you take control of the professional monster hunter aka Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, to seek his missing adopted daughter on the run through a vast open-world rich with merchant cities, pirate islands, caves, secret locations, dense forests and mythical creatures. The game is based on The Witcher series of fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and won the Game of the Year award in 2015.

Our next Stadia Connect arrives on July 14! Join us for a look at some of the games coming to Stadia later this year. https://t.co/y8do0Vi2p2 pic.twitter.com/o23mjuosXE

Stadia Connect will be showcasing some more game titles and features coming to the new platform later this year. The event will be streamed on the official YouTube channels of Google Stadia and The Game Awards alongside the Summer Game Fest official website. Back in the month of April, during the first Stadia Connect, Google had announced a whole bunch of titles coming to the new platform, including the likes of DOOM Eternal and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds. They had also announced a bunch of free titles coming with their subscription service, Stadia Pro, for the month of May, which included The Turing Test, SteamWorld Heist and ZombieArmy 4: Dead War.

Google Stadia is a cloud-based game streaming service that was launched back in November 2019. The service lets you play games on just about any screen you own with Google’s servers handling all the processing power. It does not require one to download or install any games as such and can handle games at decent resolution and framerates as long as they have the right internet connection. Its initial launch was disastrous with issues ranging from buggy software and hardware to lowered resolutions, choppy framerates, input lag and scuffed graphics. However, with time, Stadia has improved in some of those regions, providing a far better gaming experience. Additionally, feel free to sign up to the Summer Game Fest to watch and keep up to date with upcoming events here.

PUBG Mobile adds the Silverback set, available via Ancient Spin

PUBG Mobile has introduced a brand new set that players can earn. Called the Silverback set, it is named after the African Silverback Gorilla. The set cannot be directly purchased but has to be won via the Ancient Spin event. Taking a spin costs 60UC, but the first spin of the day can be done for 10UC. Players can also take ten spins for 540UC.

The Silverback set is divided into the headgear and the outfit. However, the spin also offers other rewards such as the Jungle Prey set that includes the headgear, mask and the outfit. Other prizes include the Jungle Prey parachute, Lucky Coin tokens, and crate coupons. On top of this, spinning the crate a certain number of times also yields additional rewards. For example, spinning it ten times results in a premium crate coupon, while spinning it 40 times results in an Ancestral Tears QBU. This goes on till you spin it 200 times, wherein you get 160 Lucky Coins.

It should be noted that in order to spin it 200 times, you’ll have to spend at least 10,800UC. And judging by the current UC prices this should set you back by close to Rs 10,000 if you haven’t got a Royale Pass.

PUBG Mobile also recently introduced the cheekily named Mother Clucker set. It is a chicken-themed set that features a unique outfit, headgear that would be the apt costume to wear when winning a chicken dinner. The outfit is available via the Chicken Treasure loot box that gives players up to 10 items to win. You can read more about that here.
