OnePlus Buds TWS earphones key features teased ahead of July 21 launch

OnePlus Buds is the company’s first true wireless earbuds that’s confirmed to launch on July 21 alongside the OnePlus Nord. In the build-up to the launch, OnePlus has started teasing its fans with details about its upcoming OnePlus Buds TWS earbuds. The company has revealed that OnePlus Buds will offer up to 30 hours worth of battery life with the carrying case which is even more than what Apple claims for its AirPods series of TWS earbuds.

In a post on its forums, OnePlus has revealed that its TWS earbuds feature a semi in-ear design for a more comfortable fit. This indicates that the OnePlus Buds won’t have removable ear tips and instead has an AirPods-like design. “We carefully refined the shape many times to make sure they sit securely in most people’s ears, so you can stay on the move without worrying about them coming loose,” writes Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus.

OnePlus Buds enables 30 hours worth of wireless music listening

Being TWS earbuds, the OnePlus Buds come neatly packed in its carrying case which the company says weighs 36 grams. The weight of each earbud is 4.6 grams which are fairly lightweight.

With the carrying case, OnePlus claims the Buds will offer up to 30 hours of battery life while the Buds itself can go on for seven hours on a single charge. Effectively, this means that the user will have to use the charging case more than three times to charge the wireless earbuds.

OnePlus Buds offers low-latency when gaming

OnePlus has also acknowledged that truly wireless earbuds “are much more demanding in terms of design and engineering” which is why the company aims to offers a seamless music listening experience with its TWS earbuds. OnePlus has made some deep optimizations, for instance when the gaming mode is engaged, the Buds will offer ultra-low latency experience.

OnePlus wants to offer a “burdenless” music listening experience with its TWS earbuds and we’ll know more about it as we near the official launch on July 21.

Tesla to launch Model 3 in India soon, says Elon Musk

The world’s most valuable automaker, Tesla, is looking to launch it’s Model 3 Electric Vehicle in India ‘soon’. This comes after Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, responded to a user’s tweet asking when Tesla’s Model 3 is expected in India by saying “Sorry, should hopefully be soon!”

Musk has hinted at his plans of launching the Model 3, which has a range of 650 kilometres and starts at $35,000 or Rs.27 Lakh, in India before but nothing concrete has turned up yet. In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the company’s headquarters in Palo Alto where he met with Musk, who gave him a tour of the factory. The last time we heard of this was in 2019 when he blamed the Indian government’s policies and the FDI norms for delaying his entry into the Indian market, which he promised would be in 2020.  In an interview with The Economic Times, he said, "Would love to be in India. Some challenging government regulations, unfortunately." Hopes of an Indian launch were also broken when Tesla’s Indian-origin Chief Financial Officer, Deepak Ahuja, announced plans to retire from the automaker.

Tesla to launch Model 3 in India ‘soon’

Currently, the EV manufacturer is present only in China in the Asian market where it has already constructed its first Gigafactory outside the United States. Musk has reportedly been looking to set up another Gigafactory, preferably outside the US, and is eyeing India, along with Japan and South Korea, where EVs are already popular. India is looking to attract large firms to set up shop in the country and with cheaper labour and operational costs, it might mean that Musk’s tweet has some planning behind it. The government is also building up EV charging infrastructure in the country. We have already seen three EVs, such as the Hyundai Kona, MG ZS and Tata Nexon selling well and many more are planned to hit the Indian market. This shows that India is warming up to EVs and that it is a huge market for EV automakers to tap into.

The electric automaker is now gearing up production to launch the much anticipated Tesla 2020 Roadster followed by Model Y and the controversial CyberTruck in 2021. In fact, the Tesla Cybertruck could be added to Dubai Police’s fleet of supercars. You can read more about that here. The Tesla Cybertruck pre-orders have also crossed 2,50,000 within a week after unveiling it. You can read more about that here.

Lenovo Legion gaming phone will feature a 144Hz screen as per a new teaser, Pro version of the phone leaked

The first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus are just around the corner. Both Lenovo and Asus will unveil their Snapdragon 865 Plus powered devices on July 22. Lenovo has teased the fact that the smartphone will come with a 144Hz display for a smooth gaming experience.  Other specifications and features of the smartphone have been making the rounds on the internet. It looks like the Lenovo Legion gaming phone will have the Legion OS, which is based on Lenovo’s ZUI 12 running on top of Android 10.

Lenovo Legion gaming phone specifications and features

Not all the specifications of the Lenovo Legion gaming phone are known. What is known is the fact that it will have a 144Hz display and also that it will run on the Snapdragon 865 Plus platform.

If information circulating the internet is to be believed, then we could see one version of the Lenovo Legion phone sport 6GB RAM and 128GB USF 3.0 storage and there could be a pro version with 16GB RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The Lenovo Legion phone is expected to sport 90W fast charging for the 5000mAh battery that powers the device.

It also looks like the device will have an interesting design. The smartphone will have a popup camera, and while the concept of a pop-up camera isn’t new, the position of the front camera on the Lenovo Legion smartphone is. The popup camera is mounted on the side which will make it the ideal position when the smartphone is held in landscape mode. This could be great for those looking to use the front camera when streaming games from their smartphone.

The position of the rear camera is also interesting. Instead of the standard top left corner, the camera on the Lenovo Legion gaming phone is in the centre. It looks like Lenovo will be catering to users who shoot landscapes more than portraits. Further, the camera module can be better used for AR games, where the camera position won’t change going from landscape to portrait. But here too, there’s a chance your hands might end up covering the lens, or worse, smudging it. Lenovo will announce the Legion phone on July 22 5 PM IST.
