Call of Duty: Mobiles Season 9 Conquest update to roll out on August 16

Call of Duty: Mobile has confirmed that the Season 9 update for the game will be available from August 16. The new season will be called ‘Conquest’ and judging by the 5-second-long trailer, it will have a theme based around the Soviet Union.

Conquest ⁣ The new season is approaching!⁣ ⁣ Season 9 is launching in #CODMobile later this week! pic.twitter.com/esUm6aZTMS

— Call of Duty: Mobile (@PlayCODMobile) August 13, 2020 Shipment multiplayer map

As before, the new update comes with a new classic multiplayer map. This time around, player will get to play on Shipment 1944, which is an updated version of the Shipment map that was first introduced in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Gunsmith

However, the biggest change to Call of Duty: Mobile has to be the new Gunsmith mode that completely overhauls the way weapons will work in the game. Instead of having multiple variants of the same gun, players will now have a single base weapon and will have to customise the weapons as per their liking. Not only that, but players will now have 10 loadouts in Multiplayer and players will also be able to choose loadouts in Battle Royale and then select them from airdrops.

Shield Turret

As the name would suggest, the Shield Turret lets you drop a turret anywhere in the battlefield. However, unlike the Sentry Gun, the turret is not automated. As such, the weapon has to be manually fielded in order to be used. It should also be noted that the weapon has limited ammunition. In order to offset these cons, the Shield Turret only requires a score of 300 in order to be activated, which will make it one of the ‘cheapest’ scorestreaks in game.

The current season of Call of Duty: Mobile is almost at an end and while most of the seasonal events are coming to a close, players still have a chance to unlock the new Katana operator skill and partake in some very limited time events like Last Refuge and Now or Never. Last refuge gives you rewards for simply logging in every day, while Now or Never gives players the chance to complete missions to win various rewards. Both these events gives players the chance to win Weapon XP cards and new weapons.

Xbox Series X leaked to launch on November 9

Microsoft has officially said that the Xbox Series X will launch in November but failed to give a concrete release date. They shared this information along with the news that Halo Infinite has been delayed to 2021 and you can read more about it here. New information from The Verge’s Tom Warren reveals that the console will launch on November 6. Tom has taken to Twitter and says, “Xbox Series X may launch on November 6th. A tipster tells me boxes of the new controllers have a do not open date of November 6th on them”.

Xbox Series X may launch on November 6th. A tipster tells me boxes of the new controllers have a do not open date of November 6th on them. These controllers leaked earlier this week https://t.co/oyhlbg2SKo pic.twitter.com/dq096shN7L

— Tom Warren (@tomwarren) August 11, 2020

So it looks like Microsoft has already started stocking the new controller with retailers with a "do not open till 6th November" date on them. Since one cannot see any Xbox branding behind the date sticker, we can take this leak with a pinch of salt, however, Tom has a good track record with the information he shares so it is quite believable.

Xbox Series X leaked to launch on November 9

The reason one can believe that retailers are stocking the new controller is that a customer managed to get his hands on a white next-gen white Xbox controller and posted pictures of it on Twitter. The box of the controller also highlighted compatibility with the unannounced Xbox Series S. The less powerful Xbox Series S has been leaked way too many times and can be considered one of Microsoft’s worst kept secrets. You can read more about the Series S here.

Sony, on the other hand, is yet to reveal the release date and price of the PS5 along with a teardown of the console. It looks like both Sony and Microsoft are waiting for the other to reveal the price first so that one can undercut the other. Until then, you can check out our comparison of the design of the PS5 vs the Xbox Series X here and a comparison of the specifications here.

Motorola Razr 2020 confirmed to launch on September 9: Everything we know

The Motorola Razr 2020 could be announced as soon as September 9 as the company is hosting a virtual event on the day. The Motorola Razr 2020 or Razr 2 or Razr 5G, whatever it ends up being named, is the successor to the Razr 2019 which was launched in India earlier this year. The revamped Razr lineup plays the nostalgia card but wasn’t able to garner much love from the end consumers due to the extremely high price tag coupled with mid-range specs.

With the Razr 2020, Motorola seems to have refined certain shortcomings as the phone has been leaked previously giving away some key specifications as well. Nevertheless, this year’s Razr is expected to go up against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Microsoft Surface Duo. Motorola has sent out press invitations for its event on September 9 with the tagline “flip the smartphone experience once again”, hinting at the launch of its second-generation foldable phone.

Motorola Razr 2020 leaked specifications

Some renders of the upcoming Motorola Razr 2020 have been leaked previously, giving us a look at the design of the phone, which is in line with the Razr 2019 design but looks more refined. The phone has a Mercury Silver finish and the fingerprint sensor on the chin seems to have been moved under the display. When closed, there’s a smaller display on the flap accompanied by a camera. The screen looks the same as on the current generation Razr, but earlier rumours have indicated that the Razr 2 could come with a larger on-screen display.

Motorola Razr 2020 confirmed to launch on September 9

Motorola Razr 2020 is also expected to feature mid-range hardware, opting for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G packed with upto 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It is rumoured to feature a larger 6.7-inch display. The phone is also expected to come with a 48-megapixel sensor instead of the 16-megapixel shooter found on the current model and a second 20MP camera.

The Razr 2020 could come with 2,845mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Overall, this year’s Razr looks like an incremental update that works on what the Razr 2019 missed like better cameras, bigger screen and battery. It launches on September 9, and we’ll know more about the Razr 2020 as we near the official announcement.
