Dell XPS 17 launched in India

Dell India launched the new XPS 13 and XPS 15 earlier last month, however, the XPS 17 was ominously missing from the announcement. We were informed that the XPS 17 was definitely headed to India, but in due time. Today, the company has announced their true MacBook Pro 16-inch rival in the country with immediate availability.

If you’re wondering what hardware configuration the XPS 17 will be available in, well, there’s not a lot known. Dell’s press release for the XPS 17 only states that the XPS 17 is powered by Intel’s 10th generation Core i7 processors, have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti on board and will be available with a choice of UHD and FHD display resolutions. Besides that, Dell’s website or press release doesn’t offer much information on the configurations that will be available in India. The starting price for the laptop has been set at Rs 209500, inclusive of all applicable taxes. Unfortunately, Dell also has an XPS 17 without a discrete GPU that’s available in international markets and there is no way for us to be sure whether the starting price is for the model without the GPU. We have reached out to Dell to share the specific list of SKUs that they plan on launching in India.

Dell XPS 17 launched in India

The Dell XPS 17 is a 17-inch creator-centric laptop from Dell, that the company claims is smaller than 48 percent of the 15-inch laptops out there. The XPS 17 also uses a novel thermal solution, turning to GORE thermal insulation for managing component heat. This is not the first XPS to use this material, with the XPS 13 first getting it back in 2018. The new XPS 17 offers a Creator’s Edition machine as well, featuring a 4K display that has 100 percent Adobe RGB coverage and 94 percent DCI-P3 coverage.

The Dell XPS 17 will be available through Dell’s official retail partners and also Amazon India’s website starting August 18.

Stickers have been available on WhatsApp for some time now and it looks like WhatsApp is going to make it easier for you to find the right sticker to add more emotions to your conversations. The ability to search for stickers in WhatsApp is a part of the Beta version 2.20.198.5.

In addition to letting users search for stickers, there are also tabs that club different stickers under one head. So under the happy, love, sad, angry, etc tab, you will see different stickers housed experiment the relevant emotion. This will also make it easier for those that what to use stickers from different packs find and use them.

WhatsApp is working on a stickers search feature on Android, that will be available in future. It’s under development. pic.twitter.com/ZtOK5RXrMB

— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) November 8, 2018

However, even in the beta, the ability to search for the sticker isn’t available all the time. According to wabetainfo, “Note that this feature is partially unavailable, because it’s under development. We say “partially” because sometimes a trick might be able to temporarily enable the feature: if you open WhatsApp the first time and the last used tab is “Stickers”, the search sticker button should now appear, but it disappears if you switch tab.” Stickers aren’t a new feature to the world of instant messaging and stickers are quite prominent on the messaging service Hike.

WhatsApp has been introducing a bunch of features to improve the user experience. Some of these features are live, while others are in beta. When India went into lockdown, WhatsApp expanded its video calling limit from 4 to 8 to make it easier to talk to more family and friends over a single call. WhatsApp is also working on allowing users to use one WhatsApp account over multiple devices with the ability to sync chat across devices. It is also speculated to be working on a “Mute Always” feature, letting users mute a chat or a group permanently.

WhatsApp has also added the ability to check the authenticity of a forwarded message, but sadly, the feature isn’t available in India yet. If you would like to know how to share your location on WhatsApp you can do so here. You can also learn how to set up auto-reply on WhatsApp here.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a free co-op multiplayer mode coming in 2020

Ghost of Tsushima is undoubtedly one of the best games for the PS4 and a swansong for the console before all eyes move on the PS5. In what can be considered one of the best-kept secrets, developer Sucker Punch Productions has lifted the veil off the multiplayer mode which will come to all Ghost of Tsushima players this fall. While we don't have an exact release date for the co-op mode, we do have some interesting details.

What is Ghost of Tsushima: Legends?

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a new online co-op multiplayer mode which will be free to all those that own the game. It will release later this year. According to the PlayStation Blog, “Legends is an entirely new experience — it’s a separate mode that doesn’t follow Jin or the companions from his journey, but instead focuses on four warriors who have been built up as legends in stories told by the people of Tsushima”.

The blog goes on to say, “Ghost of Tsushima’s single-player campaign focuses on an open world and exploring the natural beauty of the island, but Legends is haunting and fantastical, with locations and enemies inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology and an emphasis on cooperative combat and action”.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will have teams of minimum 2 maximum 4 players to battle foes online. Unlike the main game which was quite grounded in a real-world, Legends will be more fantastical and will bring with it story missions that escalate in difficulty. Players can choose from 4 different classes - the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin each bringing his own unique abilities. The unique abilities are yet to be revealed.

The blog goes on to say that the multiplayer will bring “wave-based Survival missions, fighting groups of the toughest enemies Tsushima has to offer, including new Oni enemies with supernatural abilities.”

In addition to Story and Survival missions, players can also take up four-player Raids. The four-player Raid will arrive shortly after the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.

The last thing anyone expected from Ghost of Tsushima was a multiplayer mode and the fact that the developers are bringing it to us this year itself is quite impressive. Not to mention the more fantastical setting.

The Last of Us Part II (review) is also expected to have a multiplayer mode, and even though we have seen some leaks of the multiplayer mode, there is little official information about it.

Coming back to the Ghost of Tsushima, the game is set on the island of Tsushima during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. The game brings with it rich environments, intense gameplay and a simple story told from the heart. You can read our review of the game here or watch the video review below.

WB Games Montral Teases New Batman Game

WB Games Montréal has released yet another cryptic teaser for their long-rumoured, new Batman game, leading up to DC Fandome on 22 August 2020. Based on the teaser, it looks like the mythical Court of Owls is in fact involved this time around. And that we will be getting more clues or details on the title within the next four days.

— WB Games Montréal (@WBGamesMTL) August 17, 2020

The news comes from an old-fashioned enigmatic tweet from WB Games Montréal. The tweet features a short video and morse code spelling out an IP address which leads to r3dakt3d.com. The video showcases a bunch of twitchy animations and imagery which links to the characters involved in the game. Of which, the most prominent one being the image of an owl, confirming the involvement of Scott Snyder’s infamous creation - The Court of Owls.

The link opens up a stylized, computer interface-themed page with tons of obscure, glitchy animations and a text which says, “WE_HAVExBE3N EXPECTING_YOU! 8/18”. At the bottom of the page, there is a countdown which leads us to believe that we will be seeing further details later tonight. Probably at around 8:30 PM, IST.

As it turns out, the website is littered with a whole bunch of secrets related to the game. As stated by twitter user MattFiler, enabling the visibility attribute for an element on the page named “hold-btn”, unlocks an interactive button in place of the countdown timer. Upon pressing that, it welcomes users to a different page asking for a 3-digit code to progress further. At the top, the page features four events in the upcoming days, which lines up exactly with the game reveal at DC Fandome.

Upon cracking the code (which has been disabled now), the page ended up revealing an image, showing what seems like part of an in-game map file or a blueprint, with an objective marker pointing towards a bridge. As of now, it has not been uncovered as to what this bridge exactly connects to.

Good job on the code! Download button does work, it's just very slow. Here's what it gives... pic.twitter.com/0CQ0RRHKxJ

— Matt Filer (@MattFiler) August 17, 2020

Back in May, we had reported on some leaks in regards to the plot and characters involved in the upcoming Batman game. Based on the information surfaced today, it seems like those leaks are eventually coming to reality. The creators of Batman: Arkham Origins have been known for sharing cryptic tweets in regards to their new game for a while now. The first teaser they dropped was back in September 2019, with the tagline “Capture the Knight / Cape sur la nuit”, featuring a bunch of symbols pointing towards the characters involved in the game. However, those teasers eventually stopped, with the last one being seen in January, early this year, featuring a Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) logo. Way before that, the involvement of Court of Owls in the new game was also foreshadowed by the Creative Director and the Associate Producer at WB Games Montréal themselves, on two separate occasions.

Based on a set of new domains Warner Bros. had registered back in June, it looks like the potential title for the game would be “Batman: Gotham Knights”, of which you can read further details here. The new Batman title will be revealed at DC Fandome on 22 August 2020 at 11 PM IST, for which you can set up your schedule and reminders here.

On the same day, Rocksteady, creators of the Batman Arkham franchise will also be revealing their upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game, of which you can check out further details here.
