Call of Duty: Mobiles Hunt for Makarov event starts tomorrow: Heres what you need to know

Call of Duty: Mobile’s next major event is all set to be available from tomorrow onward. The new event is called ‘The Hunt for Makarov’ and ties to the overall theme of ‘The Hunt’ in Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 10 update. To recall, Vladimir Makarov was introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and served as the primary antagonist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Get ready to explore & earn rewards along the way such as: M4 - Feral Stalker Man-O-War - Iridescent Frame - First Horseman & more! The Hunt for Makarov event commences tomorrow at 5pm (PT)! pic.twitter.com/1mzqp2HhAu

— Call of Duty: Mobile (@PlayCODMobile) September 16, 2020

The new event will be along similar lines as Season 9’s Finest Hour Event wherein players will earn a set of in-game items that will be used to progress further in the event. It’s the same case of ‘The Hunt for Makarov’, as the item is Explore Points, which are gathered by playing multiplayer and battle royale. During the event, players will unlock Blueprints for the M4 and Man-O-War assault rifles. Players will also unlock other rewards like frames and more. Speaking of frames, players can also collect Makarov’s photos in battle royale mode and exchange it for a Makarov frame.

Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 10 already began a few weeks back and has already introduced a bunch of new things. This includes the introduction of the Terminal map, a classic map that is based on the infamous No Russian mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The map follows an airport theme and the layout can be broadly divided into an outdoor section with parked airplanes, and an indoor section that includes the airport terminal. The open layout of the map can make it quite tricky for new players. If you’re having trouble with it, you can check out some of our tips and strategies here.

There is also a new game mode called Headquarters. The new mode is similar to other modes like Hardpoint and Domination wherein teams are tasked with capturing and holding points on the map. However, in Headquarters, once a team captures a point, they can no longer respawn till the Headquarters is destroyed. Once a Headquarter is captured, the enemy team cannot recapture it, they can only destroy it, after which it spawns on another location. You can learn more about how to ace this game mode here.

PS5 box for the disc and Digital Edition revealed

Last night Sony took the virtual stage and revealed a lot of gameplay for games coming to the PS5. The company also revealed the price and release date for the PS5 disc and digital edition. The Digital Edition of the console will cost $399 (Rs 30,000 approx directly converted) while the PS5 with a disc drive will cost $499 (Rs 37,000 approx directly converted). There is no official India price of the console, but it is expected to hit store shelves in India on November 19th if all goes well. You can read more about the launch date and price of the PS5 here.

PS5 box design revealed

If you are wondering what the box of the PS5 looks like then here is your first look. It looks like the PS5 with a disc drive will have a white box while the Digital Edition of the PS5 will come in a black box. You can check out the design of the box below.

— Cheap Ass Gamer (@videogamedeals) September 16, 2020

As of now, only the front of the box is visible which highlights the console and the controller. We think like all PlayStation launch consoles of the past the back of the box will highlight features like ray tracing, haptic feedback of the dual sense, the SSD and more.

As for the contents of the box, information circulating the internet suggests that the box will contain the console (duh!), the DualSense controller, power cord, USB charging cable for the controller and the stand that will let you keep the console vertically or horizontally. Till now, a vertical stand for the PS4 was sold as an accessory. But the design of the PS5 makes the stand more of a necessity rather than an accessory and hence has been included in the box.

With the PS4, gamers also got a mono headset with a mic to chat with friends. This has been omitted from the PS5 because the DualSense controller comes with a built-in mic.

Sony and Microsoft have both shared the price and release date for the console. While we are still waiting for an India price for the PS5, you can check out the India price and launch date for the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X here.
