Spider-Man: Miles Morales Is Getting A Spider-Verse Suit

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is getting a suit from the 2018 computer-animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The suit will be available as a pre-order bonus, but will not be bound to it. Meaning, other players will still be able to unlock it by playing the game.

As you can see from the trailer, the suit follows the same cell-shaded colour palette and art style, along with the dynamic animations, which looks ripped straight out of the movie. It also features the slow frame rate effect, which although looks quite stunning, could be easily turned off via settings. Other outstanding features can be seen mainly during the high-octane, acrobatic combat. Which includes the tingling Spider-Sense animation around Miles' head, and the pop-up speech balloons and burst cards saying stuff like “BAM”, “THWOKK” and “KRAAAK”, just like in the comics. The other pre-order bonuses include the white T.R.A.C.K. suit, designed by Javier Garrón, one of the talented artists from the Miles Morales: Spider-Man comic book series. Plus, an early access to the Gravity Well Gadget and some extra skill points to spend on new abilities and upgrades.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales was first showcased at PS5: The Future of Gaming event, back in June. The game is set 1 year after the events of the first Spider-Man game and follows the story of Miles as he takes on the brilliant arms dealer - The Tinkerer, while adjusting to his new home in New York. The special abilities that come with the brand-new black suit include the stealthy camouflage ability which makes him practically invisible, and the venom strike, which passes high doses of electric current to his foes, inflicting heavier damage. Additionally, the game will also be featuring a new feline friend named, well... “Spider-Man”, whose sharp claws will be assisting you in combat, as long as you are wearing a jumper and backpack combo.

This would not be the first time Insomniac has incorporated a suit from one of the animated adaptations into the game, as they had previously included the 2D-style vintage cartoon/comic style costume in Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4, which you can check out here.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales releases on 12 November 2020, on the PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 systems in NA and Oceania. The game releases worldwide on the PlayStation 5 on 19 November 2020.

The Game Awards 2020 To Air On Indian Networks As Well

Geoff Keighley’s annual videogame awards ceremony, The Game Awards, is all set to air on multiple Indian networks, this year. Announced late last month, “The Oscars for Games”, is scheduled to take place on 10 December 2020, at 4:30 AM IST, in an online digital fashion.

Alongside the usual Twitch and YouTube official livestreams, this year, the event is set to be broadcasted in over 45 different video platforms/networks, for free, in up to 4K UHD resolution. Of which, there are some Indian networks as well, as revealed by Geoff Keighley on Twitter, resulting from a partnership with Nodwin Gaming. The networks include MTV India, Disney+ Hotstar, JioTV, MX Player, Voot and airtel India. Additionally, there will also be a Hindi livestream over at YouTube Gaming.

As a result of the ongoing pandemic, unlike in previous years, this time, the ceremony will not be entertaining an in-person audience. And will be broadcasted live from three different studio locations - Los Angeles, London and Tokyo. As usual, the show will be hosted by Geoff himself, and will be continuing the trend of showcasing world premieres, huge announcements and musical performances from various artists, all while honouring the winners in each category. The award nominees will be updated on the official website sometime in November, letting you vote, for your favourite picks. Just launched last year, “The Game Festival” will also be returning, with a weekend of playable demos and exclusive in-game reward drops.

This year, The Game Awards will also be introducing a new award - “Innovation in Accessibility”. The accolade will be handed to developers that are pushing the medium forward by implementing new features, technology and options, so that their games could be played and enjoyed by a wider range of audience. A good example would be the plethora of accessibility options available in Naughty Dogs’ The Last of Us 2, aimed towards people suffering from colour blindness and other disabilities.

Having seen success with his 4-month-long Summer Game Fest, Geoff’s approach towards making The Game Awards, the biggest gaming event of the year seems highly ambitious. Watch Dogs: Legion source code has been hacked and leaked online

In a case of life imitating art, the source code for Watch Dogs: Legion has reportedly been hacked. In a game built around technological espionage and hacking, for Watch Dogs: Legion to have its source code hacked is truly one of the more sensational stories we’re seen. First reported by ZDNet, the hack was claimed to have been perpetrated by a group called Egregor sometime in October 2020. The group claims to have been able to crack the internal networks at Ubisoft and Crytek. The source code is about 560GB of data, which is a lot of work. 

The group also have claimed to have leaked the entire thing online. What this could lead to is fast-cracking of the anti-piracy software and even enable mods on the game. Do note that no personal information or developer data has been leaked, yet. Crytek was hit rather bad by the hack as internal data from the company has been leaked online. This includes game schedules, upcoming and unannounced projects such as Crysis 2 and 3 remasters and more. 

No one really knows how the group managed to crack the firewalls in these networks but this isn’t anything new. Companies have had hackers hold data for a ransom in the past as well. There has been no official announcement from either Ubisoft or Crytek regarding the matter.

Fortnite Players on PlayStation 4 Get 14.50 Update With Jetpacks, Improvements, Bug Fixes

Fortnite players on PlayStation 4 have finally received the 14.50 update after some delay, the developers announced on Twitter. The popular game with a free-to-play battle royale mode was updated to version 14.50 on November 3 for all players, but PS4 players were left out due to some issues.

More info on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 leaks out weeks ahead of launch

With the launch of the flagship Snapdragon 875 now less than a month away, all eyes are now on Qualcomm. The chipset is scheduled to be announced on December 1 but there has already been a bunch of leaks revealing key information, and even benchmark scores. A new leak now reinforces some old information, indicating the Snapdragon 875 could prove to be one of the biggest leap in mobile performance for the San Diego-based chip designer.

A Weibo report from China claims the Snapdragon 875 will be manufactured on a 5nm node. Now, this was known previously, but there was confusion whether it was Samsung or TSMC who is making it for Qualcomm. The latest report from China claimed Qualcomm was initially getting the chips made on Samsung’s 5nm platform, but owing to production issues, the orders were shifted to TSMC, which is also manufacturing 5nm chips for Apple and Huawei. Qualcomm has already lost the race in becoming the first to launch a 5nm chip for mobiles, but it would ultimately come down to the performance and efficiency gains that will eventually define the success of the upcoming flagship chip.

And we do expect a big leap in performance. A previous leak gave out AnTuTu scores of a Qualcomm SD875 Reference Device, pegging it 25% faster than the previous Snapdragon 865+. The gain is likely due to the use of one super core, three high-performance cores, and four efficiency cores.

The new leak claims the Snapdragon 875 will sport one super core clocked at 2.84GHz, three ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.42GHz, and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The tri-cluster CPU arrangement is not new, but what would be interesting to see is the performance of the super core. This is likely to be based on  the Cortex-X1 core that ARM unveiled in June. The leak also states the Snapdragon 875 will have the Adreno 660 GPU, and the Snapdragon X60 5G modem.

However, it remains to be seen whether Qualcomm integrates the 5G modem like it did with the 4G LTE modems, or keep it discrete like the 5G modem on the Snapdragon 865.

Introducing Digit Zero1 Awards 2020

The Digit Zero1 Awards, now more than a decade old, are given out to the best performing products of the year. The idea behind our initiative is to reward brands for putting in years of research and development to come up with the products that value performance over everything else. If you’re out in the market looking for the best performing products to own, here is where you will get the answer.

In order to keep things fair, we accept products that were launched in the 12-month period between Zero1 Awards. For 2020, the best products will be chosen from products launched after November 15, 2019, and on or before November 14, 2020. Why such weird dates? That’s because we publish the awards on our December issue of the magazine every year, and considering we don’t have superpowers (yet!), we need time to test them. As a result, for products launching near the end of our acceptance period, we call for them under embargo.

Oh, and by ‘test’, we mean we put all these products through the wringer that is our comprehensive test process. Each and every product category that we cover has a rigorous test process and each and every product is made to pass through this test. Calculating the scores, a winner is declared. The test process for Zero1 Awards is almost the same as our review test process, expect that we don’t consider scores for features, price or design.

This is what makes our Zero1 Awards unique. Nowhere else will you get such laser-focus on the best performing products of the year, simply because most others ‘review’ products instead of testing them. For the Zero1 Awards, opinions of reviews aren’t considered. This is about pure performance and the ability of the product to do the job in the best possible way.

So, when you ask “What’s the best performing gaming laptop in India?”, you need to check our Zero1 Award winner of that category because that’s the only place where it’s only about pure performance and not about the features of the laptop or how it looks or how much it costs.

That’s also another reason why the Zero1 Awards are so important. Because we don’t look at the price, but only pure performance, we get to showcase products you might have missed or didn’t pay much attention to because of budget restrictions. That doesn’t mean this award caters only to the rich kids with deep pockets since most of the products in the list are usually expensive. But that’s not our rationale for doing it, though. The product that wins our Zero1 Award is considered the industry benchmark for the year. And what do brands love to do with benchmarks? Beat them of course! So think of the Zero1 Awards as a predictor of things to come next year. The new devices that will launch in 2020 will have to do better than the benchmark, and not just in terms of performance, but also price!

Honor 10X Lite with Kirin 710, 48MP quad cameras to launch globally on November 10

The Honor 10X Lite is confirmed to launch globally on November 10 after debuting in Saudi Arabia late last month. Honor is sending out invites to the media for the launch that is slated to be held on November 10, however, there’s no word if the Honor 10X Lite will be making its way to India as well. 

Honor 10X Lite follows the Honor X10 5G and X10 Max from earlier this year and is a mid-range smartphone with quad-cameras on the back, fast charging support and a Full HD+ display. Though the phone does not come with the Google Play Services and instead runs on Huawei Mobile services.

The Honor 10X Lite is scheduled to launch globally on November 10 at 2 PM CET (6:30 PM IST) and the event is expected to be live-streamed online. We will update this post with relevant livestream links once it goes live.

Honor 10X Lite specifications

As the Honor 10X Lite made its debut in Saudi Arabia we already know the specifications of the phone. The Honor 10X Lite features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a punch-hole cutout in the centre for the selfie camera. There’s a fingerprint reader on the side with the phone measuring 9.26 millimetres in thickness and weighing in at 206 grams. It is being offered in three colours-- Icelandic Frost, Emerald Green and Midnight Black.

The 10X Lite is powered by the Kirin 710 processor with an octa-core CPU and is paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Users have the option to further expand the storage by using microSD cards of upto 512GB storage. It runs on Magic UI 3.1 with Huawei Mobile Services.

There’s a quad-camera setup on the back in a rectangular module that consists of a primary 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120-degree field-of-view, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera housed within the punch-hole cutout.

The Honor 10X Lite is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging that the company claims can charge the phone from 0-46% in just 30 minutes.
