OnePlus confirms Nord N100 has 90Hz refresh rate
OnePlus Nord N100 has a 90Hz refresh rate option, the company has confirmed putting a rest to all the speculations. The Nord N100 was launched alongside the Nord N10 on October 26 for the US and European markets and takes the OnePlus Nord lineup to more affordable price points. At the time of launch, OnePlus revealed that the Nord N100 features a 60Hz refresh rate, however now it has retracted that information in light of the recent findings.
According to a report by Android Authority that noticed this after the purchasing the Nord N100, the phone does have an option to switch the refresh rate to 90Hz. This falls in line with earlier speculations that the N100 is a rebranded Oppo A53. A OnePlus representative confirmed that “The N100 is equipped with a 90Hz display. Actual refresh rate depends on settings, applications used, and processing limitations.”
The company hasn’t come through with why the 60Hz refresh rate was being advertised when there is an option to change it to 90Hz. Having said that, there is a possibility that the higher refresh rate would affect performance and battery life of the N100. What’s interesting here is that OnePlus is not revealing more details on the 90Hz option found on the N100 but it does hint that there are processing limitations involved.
There’s currently no word on the launch of the Nord N100 in India.
