This isn't the first time we have seen a game with the ability to give players hundreds of hours' worth of exploration and content. Games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and even CDPR’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt all have the potential to take more than 100 hours to run through if you want to see everything the world has to offer.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first teased back in 2013, so it’s safe to say that diehard fans have been waiting a long time to get their hands on the game. The game was originally set to release on April 16, 2020, and was subsequently delayed to November 19, 2020, and delayed yet again to December 10. With less than 15 days to go for the launch of the game, gamers are patiently waiting and hoping the game doesn’t get delayed yet again.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on nine platforms at launch which is a big deal. This includes the PS4 (PS4 Pro as well), Xbox One (One S and One X), PS5, Xbox Series S/X, PC and Stadia. Those that purchase the game for the PS4 and Xbox One will get a free upgrade to the next-gen console as well.

Fake Xiaomi products worth INR 333 lakh confiscated from Bangalore and Chennai

Xiaomi has discovered unauthorized products being sold by seven suppliers across Bangalore and Chennai. The brand’s anti-counterfeit program found out suppliers who were allegedly selling counterfeit products and seized products worth over INR 33.3 lakhs. After it was discovered, the company filed a complaint with the local police station and subsequent raids on the supplier's shops revealed many Xiaomi knock-offs between October and November.

Xiaomi says it has found over 3,000 products from these suppliers consisting of mobile phone cases, headphones, power banks, chargers, earphones and more. “The shop owners from both the cities were arrested for allegedly selling fake Mi India products worth INR 24.9 lakhs and 8.4 lakhs respectively. Upon interrogation it was found that these suppliers have been managing this business for a long time and have sold multiple unauthorized products in the market,” Xiaomi said in a statement to the media.

Xiaomi India has established a special task force with the anti-counterfeit program that monitors the market for unauthorised and counterfeit products. The latest raid on two such suppliers led them to seize fake products of an estimated worth of INR 33.3 lakhs in Chennai and Bangalore.

Counterfeit products are essentially poor knock-offs of popular products and as Xiaomi has been expanding its accessories ecosystem in India, many unauthorised players have started selling counterfeits due to the pent-up demand of Xiaomi products.

Xiaomi has also outlined some steps that users can take to authenticate their purchase and ensure that the Xiaomi product they are buying is genuine.

Some products carry security codes that can be checked on mi.com to identify the authenticity of the product- eg. Mi Powerbanks, all audio products

Packaging and quality of retail boxes are very different. You can visit any Mi Home/ Mi Store to validate the original packaging

Check for the original Mi India Logo on the product and you will know if that is authorized. The original logo of packaging can be seen on mi.com

All authorized fitness products such as Mi Band(s) will have Mi Fit app compatibility.

Unauthorized cables are often flimsy and break easily

Apple M1X processor could debut alongside 16-inch MacBook Pro 2021 and iMac

Apple M1X could be the name of the successor to the recently announced M1 processors and is likely to make its debut in 2021 with the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Apple announced its octa-core M1 SoC earlier this month and unveiled three products. Apple’s homegrown M1 silicon powers the latest 13-inch MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and the Mac Mini.

According to multiple tweets by LeaksApplePro, the M1X could be the name of the successor to the M1 chip. It further cites a source who used a prototype and said, “if you think M1 is fast, you haven’t seen M1X”. The M1X is expected to be a 12-core processor with eight performance cores and four power-efficiency cores driving all the power. The current Apple M1 chip has an octa-core CPU with four performance cores and four power-efficiency cores.

Apple M1X: -12 Cores. - 8 performance cores. - 4 high efficiency cores. - Coming first on a MacBook Pro 16” unveiling as a press release. - According to a source who used a prototype, “if you think M1 is fast, you haven’t seen M1X”. -Name isn’t final though. pic.twitter.com/tpBhXpDCad

Another tweet from the same account indicates that Apple is working on a 24-inch iMac with a redesigned Magic Mouse that is slated to launch in March 2021 at a price of $1,399.

Ok so... iMac. 24” M1X $1399 Magic Mouse redesign Coming in March I’ll make a more complete post in my website with more details. But these are the most important ones. :)

— LeaksApplePro (@LeaksApplePro) November 22, 2020

Moreover, some recent reports indicate that benchmark numbers from the MacBook Air powered by Apple’s M1 silicon seem to outperform the top-of-the-line 16-inch MacBook Pro. On GeekBench 5, single and multi-core scores for the M1 powered MacBook Air are 1687 and 7433 respectively. On the other hand, Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro powered by the Intel Core i9-9989HK (8-core chip) and 64GB RAM scores 1097 and 7014 respectively.

While the name of the successor to the M1 isn’t confirmed, the 16-inch MacBook Pro seems a likely candidate to get an upgraded processor that takes the company’s transition to its own chips forward. Apple’s M1 silicon is fabricated using a 5-nanometer process and consists of an octa-core CPU, an eight-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. The previous generation Mac devices used multiple chips for the CPU, GPU, I/O, memory, Thunderbolt and security, however, with the M1 combines it all on a single SoC making the new devices highly efficient and powerful.

The new MacBooks with Apple M1 chipset are currently on sale in India and you can purchase them from the Apple Store Online as it also allows buyers to upgrade the configuration. Additionally, you can read more about the Apple M1 processor here and about the pricing, specs and availability of the new Macs in India here.

Sony confirms the PS5 will get Variable Refesh Rate in a future update

The Xbox Series X and the PS5 both support the latest HDMI standard - HDMI 2.1. However, the Xbox Series X had one HDMI 2.1 feature at launch that the PS5 lacked - Variable Refresh Rate. Now, Sony has confirmed that the PS5 will get VRR support via a future software update. On the PlayStation Blog Sony says, “PS5 hardware supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) through HDMI 2.1. After a future system software update, PS5 owners will be able to use the VRR feature of compatible TVs when playing games that support VRR”.

A key thing to note is that your TV needs to support HDMI 2.1 to make the most of VRR. you can check out our list of best gaming TVs here. Sony has the X90H (review), which is a 'Ready for PlayStation 5' TV and LG’s 2020 and 2019 OLED and some NanoCell TVs also support HDMI 2.1.

What is VRR and why should you care?

Put simply, VRR stands for Variable Refresh Rate and it lets the TV adjust the framerate on the screen to that being outputted by the console. So, if the game is playing at 60fps and all of a sudden, because of intense action on screen, the framerate drops to 52fps, you will notice some tearing on the screen. This is because the display is still outputting at 60 frames per second. With VRR, the TV will be able to adjust its (the display’s) framerate to match that of the console, giving users a smoother gaming experience.

VRR has been a key feature in the PC gaming space with technology like G-SYNC and FreeSync from NVIDIA and AMD respectively being available on gaming monitors.

There are a bunch of features the Xbox Series X has at launch that the PS5 lacks. You can purchase external storage for the Series X that works as fast as the internal SSD to play Series X optimised games. While the PS5 supports off the shelf M.2 storage, the feature isn't yet active.

The Xbox Series X also allows users to transfer their Series X games to an external drive to be played at a later date by transferring them back to the fast internal SSD. The PS5 doesn’t allow you to do the same.
