The Xiaomi Mi 11 could launch as early as December 29: Report

Just a few weeks ago we reported that the Xiaomi Mi 11 could be launching as early as January 2021. The Mi 10 lineup was announced in February, earlier this year. Recently, the protective case for Mi 11 Pro leaked, showing the camera design of the new phone. But if an exclusive report by gizmochina is to be believed, the Mi 11 could be launching ever earlier, namely, December 29. As per the report, the source who relayed the info does not know if it’ll be a global or China launch.

In fact, the Mi 11 could be the first smartphone in the market with a Snapdragon 888 flagship processor. The rumoured camera specifications show that it could have a 50MP primary camera, 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP telephoto lens, while the fourth lens could be a depth sensor. Previous leaks showed that the phone could feature a 120-Hz screen along with a 2K resolution display with a punch-hole camera for selfies. Xiaomi has already announced that it will be coming with the new Snapdragon 888 SoC flagship chipset and it is also being reported that the phone will also come with the new 120W fast charging technology that the company had revealed earlier this year.

In other Xiaomi news, the Redmi 9 Power design’s has been leaked ahead of its launch in India on December 17. You can read more about that story here.

Cyberpunk 2077 team to receive full bonuses despite games buggy and unoptimized release

So, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out and well, let’s just say it’s no Witcher 3. The PS4 version seems to be running between 720p and 900p and in busy sequences like driving or large outdoor areas, the game even drops to the low 20s in terms of frame rates. Which essentially renders the game almost unplayable. And the PC version hasn't been spared of bugs and unoptimized performance as well. To say that it’s been a rocky launch would be an understatement.

This is not to say that the game is bad, far from it. When it runs smoothly, Cyberpunk 2077 is a technological marvel in terms of visuals. The game is just straight up beautiful to look at. Plus the story ain’t half bad either. So it’s a decent bit of good news to hear that the team behind the game will be receiving their bonuses as per an earlier promise by the developers. The team was told that they would receive bonus pay based on how well the game was received. And it looks like CDPR are not backing down on their word.

In an email to the team, Adam Badowski, studio head and creative director for Cyberpunk 2077 said, “We initially had a bonus system that was focused on the game's ratings and the release date, but after consideration, we believe that measure is simply not fair under the circumstances.".

So, at least the team behind the game has a good ending to the story. But, for PlayStation and PC users, there is a hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077 that is out right now and hopefully that will fix performance issues and bugs for a ton of users.

Cyberpunk 2077 runs between 720p and 900p on PS4 with lots of texture pop-in and bugs

In development for nearly a decade, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games from acclaimed developer CD Projekt Red. The game has been in development for 7 years and is currently available for the PC, PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5 and Google Stadia. The game which was set to release in April 2020 was delayed multiple times and finally launched on December 10.

According to Digital Foundry, the game runs between 720p and 900p on the PS4 and in busy sequences like driving, the game even drops to the low 20’s in terms of frame rates giving a lacklustre gaming experience. Not to mention the fact that the game is riddled with bugs. You can check out Digital Foundry’s detailed analysis below.

Digital Foundry also played the game on the next-gen consoles - the Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and the PS5. the consultation out here is that the game has the same resolution as the PS4 Pro on the PS5 which is a tad over 1080p and runs at a smooth 60 fps albeit with some dips in driving and heavy sequences.

We at digit are playing the game on the PS5 and confirm that the game has a smooth framerate but is littered with bugs. In fact, we encountered a bug in act 1 that prevent us from progressing and had to start a fresh new game.

Coming back to Digital Foundry, they say that the game has a performance mode and a resolution mode on the Xbox Series X which gives you either 60 FPS or higher resolution at a locked 30FPS. The game in its current avatar looks best on PC with features like ray-tracing proving that this is truly a next-gen title that needs a little more work. Even on the PS5, when installed on the external SSD, the game takes 15 seconds to load from a cold boot and upon death, reloads in a matter of 15 seconds. You can check out some of our gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 on a PS5 in the video below.

OnePlus 9 preproduction unit leaked online

There is no official release date for the OnePlus 9, but it looks like we have our best look yet of what the smartphone looks like. PhoneArena has got its hands on photos of a preproduction unit of the OnePlus 9. Know leaker r Max Jambor has also corroborated the authenticity of the leak. So, it is possible that this is our best look yet of the OnePlus 9.

From the leaked images we can see the triple camera stack housing at the back of the phone. It is quite the prominent bump that houses the three cameras. From the camera stack, it appears as though we have two previously rumoured 48MP cameras and one Macro or monochrome camera.

The biggest change one will notice is the logo at the back of the phone. It is said to be OnePlus’ dedicated logo for prototype units and this will be replaced with the standard logo we have come to see from OnePlus once the unit is in its final stages of production.

Coming to the front, the smartphone is speculated to have a 6.55-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 20:9. The smartphone is also speculated to be powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 888 coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 11 out of the box with Oneplus’ OxygenOS overlaying it.

In other OnePlus 9 leaks, information circulating the internet suggests that the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro could be accompanied by a third OnePlus device, called the OnePlus 9E. It is also speculated that the OnePlus 9 Pro could be IP68 certified. You can learn more about it here.
