Adobe releases Premiere Pro Beta for M1 Macs

Adobe has announced the beta release of Premiere Pro for M1 based Mac OS. The release comes after the launch of the beta versions of Photoshop and Lightroom for M1 powered Macs. The new version is updated to run natively on the ARM-based M1 chips for Macs without much headroom for the performance penalty of emulating the Intel version of the application. As it is with the Photoshop and Lightroom beta versions, you won’t find all the features, but it does include core editing functions as well as workflow functionality.

“This phased approach allows us to validate performance and functionality for specific parts of the application before we add new components,” Adobe says. “And it also allows you to start seeing the benefits now.”

Premiere Pro now available on M1 Macs

The program is still in beta and comes with a host of missing features and known issues that are reported on the announcement page. The company says that an average user won’t notice any major difference in working with the software apart from a few specific features required. The company adds that they are prioritizing support for codecs such as H.264, HEVC, and ProRes. Third-Party integrations would need to be updated by their respective developers to be compatible with the M1 version of the application.

If the user needs a feature that has not yet been ported in this beta version, Adobe suggests they use the Intel version of Premiere Pro through Rosetta 2 emulation. You can install the beta version from Adobe Creative Cloud, on the left side of the interface under the beta apps category.

Call of Duty: Mobiles Season 13 Winter War update now rolling out

Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 13 update is now rolling out to all devices. Called the Winter War, the new update adds a bunch of new additions that brings a wintery theme to the whole proceedings. Besides the major additions like new maps and weapons, there are also a bunch of tiny changes aimed at being more in touch with the festive season. This includes a new main lobby as well as lobby music. There is also a new menu for the in-game store menu.

The most prominent of the bunch is the new Nuketown Russia map that has been introduced into the mix. First seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the new map is pretty much the same as classic Nuketown, but with a Russian twist. The map is now set on a Nuclear facility with Russian-style buildings and train cars in the middle. There’s also a fresh coat of snow over the whole map as well. However, this particular map isn’t available right now and will be playable later. What will be available is the new Holiday Raid map that sees the Raid map get a festive makeover with snow, presents, snowmen, and lights. Holiday Raid will be available in Prop Hunt mode, which also makes a return to the game.

Call of Duty:Mobile Christmas update

Battle Royale’s Ski Town location also gets a fresh coat of snow. The location will now feature moving ski lifts as well as a new vehicle, a rocket-powered snowboard. Unlike any other vehicle in Battle Royale, it can be stowed in a backpack to be used anywhere.

Besides this, the game is also tipped to get a new game mode called Grind. This mode is like a combination of Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint where players will have to collect fallen dog tags, but then take them to a collection point. However, this mode will only be available later. For now, players can check out Cookie Confirmed, which is the same as Kill Confirmed, but with cookies instead of dog tags.

In a short video teaser shared on Twitter, Facebook and more, Xiaomi hints at the launch of a 108MP camera smartphone on January 5, 2021. The upcoming phone has a circular camera module as indicated by the video and the end of the clip indicates the name “10 i”. Moreover, the company is also pushing the teaser video with the hashtag ThePerfect10 which hints that the upcoming phone is likely to come under the Mi 10 lineup.

Shortly after the teaser by Xiaomi, popular leakster Mukul Sharma posted a tweet on Twitter with official-looking renders of the Mi 10i 5G that is expected to launch on January 5. From the renders, one can make out the similarities between the Mi 10i and the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G.

The leaked image also reveals that the Mi 10i has 108MP cameras, 120Hz refresh rate display and is powered by the Snapdragon 750G processor. The image and the details fall in line with previous reports where the Mi 10i was spotted on Geekbench, hinting that Xiaomi might bring the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G as the Mi 10i to India.

Nevertheless, we are just three weeks away from the official launch and going by its track record, the company should start teasing more features of its upcoming phone soon. Since the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has already been announced in China, its key specifications are out in the open. It is priced starting at CNY 1,599 for the base variant which translates to around Rs 18,000 by direct conversion. Xiaomi could be aiming to keep the price of the phone at under Rs 20,000 as that would help it go up against the likes of the Moto G 5G which is also powered by the Snapdragon 750G.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G specifications

The Redmi Note 9 features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The screen supports 120Hz refresh rate and is topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. It has a circular camera module and the back is made of glass. It is powered by the Snapdragon 750G processor with 5G support and runs on MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is equipped with a 4,820mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging out-of-the-box.

OnePlus Nord SE might have the same internals as the original Nord

The OnePlus Nord SE is likely to be the next smartphone in the company's new mid-range Nord-lineup. We've seen several reports that claimed that it's slated to launch sometime in the first quarter of 2021. Now, as we approach the end of 2020, it's being reported that the Nord SE maybe just a special edition of the original Nord and not a completely new device.

According to a Phone Arena report, the Nord SE could be born from a partnership between OnePlus and Chinese designer Joshua Vides, who is known for his design work with Italian designer label Fendi. The new information also lines up with the leaked image by Max Jambor, who recently shared an image of the OnePlus logo in a different black and white colours, with a caption "Nord SE - same but looks different".

The design shared by Max Jambor shares striking similarity with Joshua's recent post where he uses only black and white colours. You can check out some of his similar-looking designs on Instagram.

Going by the latest the Nord SE should bring the same specifications as the existing variant, including the Snapdragon 765G and the 90HZ screen and more. However, what could be different is its look and some design tweaks inside its software. The special variant is expected to hit the market in March, possibly during the announcement of the long-awaited OnePlus 9 family.

OnePlus Nord specifications

OnePlus Nord comes with a 6.44-inch Full HD+ display that uses an AMOLED panel with a dual punch-hole having a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen has a 90Hz high refresh rate and is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection.

The Nord is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 620 GPU. It is paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage option to choose from.

It comes with a quad-camera setup on the back that consists of a primary 48MP camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 119-degree field-of-view, a 5MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there’s a 32MP primary selfie camera accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 105-degree field-of-view.

The OnePlus Nord has an in-display fingerprint sensor and is equipped with a 4,115mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
