Xiaomi could bring 80W wireless charging to the Mi 11 Pro: Report

Xiaomi’s 80W wireless charger was announced back in October 2020, and it looks like we may see it implemented in the Mi 11 Pro. Xiaomi announced the Mi 11 powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC back in 2020, and it looks like the successor to that device will be the first to rock 80W fast wireless charging. It looks like the fast-charging tech in the smartphone needs to be cleared by verification authorities.

Moving over to the specifications of the Mi 11 Pro, information circulating the internet suggests that the device could house a better camera setup than the Mi 11. It could have a periscope lens for 10x optical zoom along with 120x hybrid zoom. The display is expected to be the same one found on the Mi 11. It is speculated to be the 6.81-inch OLED display with a QHD resolution. The smartphone is also expected to have a 120Hz display with a touch sampling rate of 480Hz.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro rumoured launch

While 80W wireless fast charging can top up a phone in 19 minutes, here is a look at other wireless charging speeds to put things into perspective. 30W wireless charging can recharge a phone from 0-100% in 69 minutes. Xiaomi’s 50W fast wireless charging technology can recharge the 4500mah battery of the Mi 10 Ultra fully in 40 minutes.

Xiaomi recently launched the Mi 10i in India offering impressive specifications for an affordable piece, something that was considered a hallmark of OnePlus devices. In our review of the Mi 10i we said, “The Mi 10i is a very strong contender to set the bar for the mid-range segment in 2021. It brings a number of "expensive" features to a phone that's priced lower than most of its competitors. Users get a 108MP primary camera which has good performance and a 120Hz IPS-LCD display with very impressive colours. The phone itself is a stunning device thanks to its elegant design. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor works really well and the IP53 rating lends to the notion of durability when it comes to the Mi 10i. You also get a headphone jack on the phone, which is really nice. What doesn't work for the Mi 10i, however, is the display, which has a fairly low peak brightness, and suffers from reflection issues when using outdoors or in places with strong ambient lighting”.

Leaker suggests OnePlus 9 Lite is coming and will launch in India

Another day, and we have some more information about the upcoming OnePlus 9 family of devices. This time, it looks like we have more leaks hinting at the existence of a OnePlus 9 Lite smartphone. According to TechDroider, the OnePlus 9 Lite exists in two variants with model numbers LE2100 and LE2101. The details of the difference between the two isn't clear, but we think it could be related to a difference in RAM and storage options. The leaker goes on to say that the OnePlus 9 Lite will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 5G CPU.

[Exclusive] OnePlus 9 Lite Models. LE2100 LE2101 It is Coming to China and India. Might come to EU, can't confirm as of now. The device will feature Snapdragon 865 5G CPU.

— TechDroider (@techdroider) January 13, 2021

This isn’t the first time we have heard a bit of info about the OnePlus 9 Lite. Earlier information suggests that in 2021, we could see three smartphones from OnePlus - the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro and the OnePlus 9 Lite. The earlier reports also indicated that the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC and the Lite will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC.

It is possible that we will see the OnePlus 9 Lite have a lot in common with the OnePlus 8T (review) and sport a price tag between the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus Nord (review). It is possible that OnePlus is looking to offer customers more options in different price segments, ensuring that OnePlus fans don't need to look elsewhere if they have a lower budget. Since the flagship OnePlus devices are moving more towards a premium price tag, there is a void for those looking for a smartphone with flagship features at a more affordable price. With the recently launched Mi 10i (review) giving the OnePlus Nord a run for its money, it is possible we will see OnePlus get a little aggressive in the budget segment while retaining flagship specs and features for the 9 and the 9 Pro.

While exact specifications of the OnePlus 9 Lite haven’t leaked, information circulating the internet suggests that the device could sport a 90Hz display and come with 30W fast charging. But take this information with a grain of salt as it is all speculative.

PS5 and Xbox Series X bot could help you find the next available pre-order in India

So, the PS5 (review) finally went up for pre-order in India on January 12, but wouldn’t you know it, the consoles were sold out within minutes. It was a little unexpected but considering this was exactly what happened internationally when the PS5 was released, we should have seen it coming. As we’ve reported earlier, Sony India has reached out and let fans know that there will be another phase of pre-orders before the console launches in India on February 12. But, if you’re still looking out for a PS5, there is now a bot that will actually confirm when the console has been restocked and is available for pre-order.

PS5 pre-order bot in India

First reported by IGN India, the bot was designed by Shantanu Goel, a Bangalore-based Google Engineer who came up with the solution to help gamers in India. Goel has also created a bot for the Xbox Series X as well, in case you’re looking for that particular console. You can add the bot to your Telegram account, and it will send you notifications when the console is up for pre-order on Amazon. In the interview with IGN India, he said, “I made it because I was interested in buying from Amazon due to the five percent discount on the Amazon credit card and also because I trust Amazon more, when I bought my own device, few others asked for it, and so I converted it into a public channel. I will add Flipkart as well sometime this week when I get time though.”

Goel has developed the bot in his free time, and it’s interesting to see a gamer ecosystem of sorts out there to help Indian gamers. In the meantime, if you still want to know how to pre-order the PS5 in India, you can head on over here. If you’re planning on selling your PS4 to buy a PS5, here are three things you should keep in mind.
